Topix Mod on Twitter

The idea is that if the site is down or slow, we'll need another site to be able to get in touch with you on to update you on the status of the site :) Topix Ed  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #9)

multiple users same person posts

ColloquyColloquy- This is a great point. Ignoring trolls by *actually* ignoring them (not responding to their posts, and not acknowledging their presence) drives them crazy! If they don't elicit the response they are looking for, they generally move on to a forum where they visibly drive people crazy :) -Topix Ed  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #10)

Hi Folks- Thank you for your feedback and questions on this issue. The problem of "trolls and bullies" in the forums is one that we are aware of, and we are considering making some changes to the profiles and forums that would alleviate many of these issues. We are still discironing out what these changes will entail, but just wanted to let you know that we are working on it! While we cannot discuss how the banning process works (so as not to tell people how to circumvent our filters and cause even more problems!, we can say that if you are having issues with a user or a set of users in a forum, please send us direct links as examples and a description of the issue through the Feedback forum. All feedback is reviewed by one of our Moderators within one to two (usually one!) business day - also, make sure to include that you are a topix editor in your feedback! -Topix Ed  (Jun 3, 2009 | post #9)

We've been experiencing a few technical glitches lately that has caused content to disappear and later reappear - this is all fixed now! -Topix Ed  (Apr 24, 2009 | post #14)

Hi Jane- I think this user meant that anyone can flag posts as abusive. Only Topix Moderators have the ability to remove posts or threads; all Top Mods are full time, paid Topix employees that work here at our headquarters. hope that helps! -Topix Ed  (Apr 24, 2009 | post #13)

Good question! In every post there is a blue post number; to include someone's post in your post, click the "Reply" all the way to the right of the blue post number. -Topix Ed  (Apr 21, 2009 | post #2)

The New "Feedback" System!

Hi there, All Topix moderators are full time, paid Topix employees. You are likely confusing an editor with a moderator; editors have no ability to remove threads, polls, or posts. (http://www.topix. net/topix/faq#what _editors_do) [email protected]  (Mar 6, 2009 | post #21)

Anyone resign as editor of some page but keep others?

QUOTE who="Thomas31 2 "]Can you delete your account and start over with new name and same email address and make new editor requests?[/QUOTE] Hi T312, Our Topix Admin can change your username for you. Just click the Feedback button while logged into your account, click OTHER, and let us know 3 names you'd like to change your name to-they'll give you the first name available! Then you don't have to request a change of name and transfer all of your editor permissions. Also, we like for our users to just have one account and stick to it ;) Hope that helps! New Report Abuse "Priority Review Request" Option

Hi TK, Glad to hear that you think it was a good idea! Topix receives thousands of feedback requests every day through the free feedback option. Because the volume of feedback we receive is so high, the priority option was created to give folks a way to alert us to more time sensitive issues.  (Feb 10, 2009 | post #2)

Why No Editing of Posts?

This is exactly right! Unfortunately, you cannot edit a post once you hit "Post Comment," but many users get a little confused by the FAQ description-thank you for clearing that up Trilby Kat. We may be updating our FAQ soon!  (Feb 10, 2009 | post #36)
