10 years isn't bad, considering we've had troops in Korea (which, by the way, we're still at war with) for over 50 years.... (May 26, 2009 | post #4)
So you're back, huh Phinney? Did Mama take your computer away from you? You're right. God has to make a last ditch effort because obviously nothing else He could ever do would work. (Sarcasm intended.) And, if we "Topeka folk are all going to taste the fire," then that means that Phred and his Phaggot church are going to as well. Before you say he isn't, let me remind you of what the all-holy Phinney said... "Every last one of you." Break out the marshmallows; let the Phred Phukers burn! (May 12, 2009 | post #58)
no one in T Town seems to know. I would suspect he got a "gag" order on his case to save face. (Apr 19, 2009 | post #6)
Nothing beats an uneducated moron using profanities in the name of God. I trust your name tops His list. Put your crack pipe down and go back to bed. (Apr 18, 2009 | post #13)
I would have to disagree. It is every bit as much a church in the same sense as Jonestown, the Branch Davidians, the Solar Temple, Heaven's Gate, or the People's Temple was a church. (Apr 16, 2009 | post #515)
"A knitestick"? "you DONT NO"? My taxes pay for your education. Would you mind going to school and then come back to talk with us? (Apr 9, 2009 | post #86)
With all due respect, Allie, if we permit judges to make laws from the bench rather than interpret what the laws mean, then it may be just a matter of time until one decides that church is just wrong and then outlaws it from the bench. Or maybe he'll not like redheads. Or blue jeans. Or liquor. Or Jews. Yes, we've seen ludicrous laws come around, but the courts have seen the way eventually. And the whole thing about separation of church and state is not to be found in the constitution. Its from a letter from Jefferson stating that there should be that protection to save the church from interference from the government, not the other way around, but it was never put into the constitution. Lucky for Iowans, the Iowa Supreme Court CANNOT legislate from the bench. This will probably be challenged and removed from the books because the court's job is to interpret the laws made by the legislative branch of government, not to pass laws. If they (the courts) pass laws, there ceases to be a guaranteed "checks and balances" system. I still believe that gay marriage is wrong. If, for no other reason, gay divorce isn't legal yet. One of the first lesbian couples from CA is having that problem now. Usually Allie, I agree with you, but not this time. Peace. (Apr 4, 2009 | post #2)
Just a question, JoyofLife, but is your name some kind of joke? Are you on crack? (Mar 18, 2009 | post #4)
I agree that its not something we need to shield our kids from, but just the irony of the library blocking those books one week and putting this in the next... is almost more than I can handle. (Mar 16, 2009 | post #4)
yeah, just another waste of my tax money. (Mar 16, 2009 | post #2)
I agree. Its not okay for the library to have certain books, but its just fine to have an "artistic " showing of women at all ages showing parts of their bodies to anyone across the country walking in to see the display? I understand that the library also holds Playboy (commonly considered art among photographers) and you have to ask for the magazines, but anyone can go see these naked women because its art? I see a double standard there somewhere. Just FYI, I will be joining and supporting the MFM in May at Gage Park. I'm proud to stand up to bullies in Topeka, even if I'm not gay.
