There are currently 4 million members in the NRA. Statistics show that there are 100 times that many guns that are unregistered. That amount of unregistered guns says one thing - there are WAY more irresponsible people, or let's just say crimminals, than responsible people. I'm all for the right to bear arms - I grew up with a father who spent 25 years in the U.S. Army, and he has many REGISTERED firearms, and taught me how to use them. Gun control in my opinion needs to be more stringently enforced. But, to exclude gunshot wounds is not any type of answer - people that are walking down the street may be subjected to a drive by shooting, and get caught in the crossfire. How can anyone think this is in any way fair to that person? Auto accidents - well, let's try this - how about making the individual at fault for the accident exempt from medical treatment? Even that wouldn't work - if the person is bleeding, or in a critical state, can you just say "No treatment for you!" Of course not! Ensign should not be making any suggestions that exclude any type of medical treatment. If you're an American citizen, and are sick, injured, you should never be refused treatment.  (Oct 2, 2009 | post #212)

Ok, let's end this right now; Bush's polling numbers, in his first 7 months in office, were lower than Obama's low number at the same time. He still recieves a 55% favorable rating, and this depends on who's polls you want to consider as factual. The numbers for Bush were falling for many factors, but the Enron scandal made the American people start to scrutinize him much more closely than before. (7th largest corporation in the world at the time, and also made the largest contributiuon to an American presidency than any other corporation in history. Also supported Bush 41.) With public scrutiny upon him, then unfortunately came 9/11 - this became the distraction Bush needed, and he utilized it to his fullest advantage, despite the fact that Al-Qaida was actually in Afghanistan, not Iraq, and no WMD's were ever found, and the public became more aware of the facts surrounding this pre-emptive war. If something was inadvertently mis-stated on my part, well, OPPS - SHYTE HAPPENS, and I apologize. Again, I will state that polls always sway in the direction of the moment, and financial volatility has a major part to play in this. My "McCarhty " line I threw your way, well, not taking that back - your commie rhetoric bought that upon yourself. If you had an inkling of what Communisim actually is, ideologically, you probably would not use that line. As to comparing polls to former presidents, Carter was and I believe is a nice man, but was never cut out for the job, and I think in the end he knew this. All democrats know this to be true. Clinton - well, let's put it this way - he won twice, not during a wartime enviorment, as Bush 43 did, and if term limits were not enforced on presidents, I bet you he would have been re-elected for a third term. This despite his Monica Lewinsky scandal - people care about their quality of life, not where the guy steering the ships wanker was - as long as the ship reaches its destination, who cares where his wanker has been?  (Oct 1, 2009 | post #472)

This is not something you will be able to curtail in a short period of time, and you know this. What will happen is you'll end up becomming another version of Patchouge, that's exactly what will happen. You WILL HAVE TO GO TO BID ON SANITATION - I'VE ALREADY CHECKED THIS OUT MULTIPLE TIMES. YOU CAN KEEP THE SAME PEOPLE, BUT YOU WILL PAY MORE. EITHER DO HONEST RESEARCH, OR STOP LYING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. All other services will remain the same. Incorporation is a great concept, when done the right way. But to tell your constituents their property values will suddenly rise is again a fallacy.
