ACISD Summer Tutoring

Are there any tutoring programs run thru the middle schools during the summer? We are interested in possibly finding a math tutor for our daughter.  (Apr 17, 2009 | post #1)

Want to move to Rockport

Hey mapare, glad to hear things are going better. We are getting anxious to move, but now it looks like it will be July/August time frame. We spent the weekend in South Padre with a girl scout project. It was great fun! But little did we know Spring Break starts for about 60 colleges the first week of March. Our break is the 9-16. Anyways, they had this BIG car show thing going on and it was pretty crazy around there. Luckily, we had no problems other than someone at the hotel banging on their door and hollering at 3:15am. They finally got let in and all was quiet. We are planning another dental trip on April 10th and are gonna tent camp at Goose Island for the weekend. Have you been there yet? It's a nice state park with a fishing pier and you don't need a fishing license to fish in a state park. Sure has been dead around here, huh  (Mar 9, 2009 | post #44)

Want to move to Rockport

My ex in-laws, Guy and Virginia Hargrove, used to live in IBTB. Their place was at the corner of Woodhaven and Ebony. Loved visiting them there.  (Mar 4, 2009 | post #40)

You know slic, I saw an article a month or two back about the Copano causeway project and now I can't find anything about it. The article I saw had illustrations of a couple of proposals. If I remember correctly they had 2 possible routes to the west of the existing bridge. Maybe they'll turn the old LBJ into a fishing pier. LOL  (Mar 1, 2009 | post #20)

Want to move to Rockport

Hey AJ, I was wondering the same thing. I noticed there are a LOT of churches, but I'm not sure of the denominations. Seems everyone I talk to lately is going, just got back from, knows someone or wants to move to Rockport. As for young families, I have a 10yo step-daughter. As for me, I'm not old...I'm vintage youth!  (Feb 26, 2009 | post #34)

Sad to say. My wife called the number for the waterpark today and alas, was told there will be no waterpark. :(  (Feb 26, 2009 | post #15)

Want to move to Rockport

I had former in-laws that lived in Ingleside by the Bay. Used to love going there. The whole coastal area around there is pretty nice.  (Feb 18, 2009 | post #31)

Want to move to Rockport

Thanks Muhnay, we were looking at Portland and buying a house there, then the economy took a dive and we decided to wait and then decided we would just rent and make sure it's where we want to settle. Rockport is where we originally wanted to move, but thought Portland's proximity to CC would make it easier for work and we liked the schools. After visiting a few more times and looking at Rockport schools (our visit to the middle school blew us away!), the wife said she would make the drive if she got work in CC. I am retiring from the state in June, and will look for work in Rockport.  (Feb 17, 2009 | post #28)

Want to move to Rockport

Hey Mapare, came by the O@BW today looking at apts. We are looking at probably moving in June unless the wife gets a job sooner, then she will move and we would follow in June. We are going to tour the middle school tomorrow morning.  (Feb 15, 2009 | post #26)

Hey Mapare, I think Austin is getting a little too big for its own good. I've been here 25 yrs and have seen it change a LOT! We started camping at Goose Island State Park a few years ago and fell in love with the area. We are very excited about our move and can't wait to get there. As I stated in another post, we are going to be down this weekend for our daughters dental check up. We are planning on stopping by Bentwater for another look. I'll let you know what day/time and maybe we can meet up.  (Feb 7, 2009 | post #10)

Hey Muhnay, good luck finding a place. Do you check the Rockport-Pilot classifieds online? This was just listed: 216 LAZY LANE Lovely Peninsula Oaks home- 3br/1-1/2ba/2+. Leaded glass cherry wood cabinets with pretty custom kitchen & bathroom tiling. Easy clean saltillo tile floors throughout. Attached garage/hobby/playr oom. Detached garage/ workroom/boat-RV storage. Huge yard with trees, flowering bushes, sandbox, bird- friendly wilderness corner. One year lease $975/mo, first & last. $200 pet deposit. Couldn't post the phone #s, you'll have to go to their website. Classifieds will be updated tomorrow, too. Since it's just the 3 of us now we decided to go with the Oaks at Bentwater apts. Of course, if we got a sweetheart deal on Key Allegro we might would go with that!!! We're planning on moving after school is out here in June.  (Feb 5, 2009 | post #6)
