Yep - You can copy the key - but that will only get you into the car, unlocking it manually.  (Oct 8, 2012 | post #51)

There are a million reasons why a car will just shut off. You have to determine, 1st, if it's a fuel problem or an electrical problem.  (Oct 5, 2012 | post #131)

Codes will never tell you, just by the number, what part, if any, is failing. The code will indicate what part is AFFECTED by a condition. Consider this: IF there was a code that was read and the answer was 'Stereo', you wouldn't just go out and replace the radio. A technician who is even MARGINALLY good would know that for each CODE that is read, there is a diagnostic procedure that goes along with that code. The diagnostic tree must be followed, going through specific tests, in order, until the problem is found. In the case of the STEREO scenario, the 1st step may be to check the fuse. If you just went by the code, you would have replaced the radio - it still wouldn't work. If you go throuh the tests, then you would have found what is AFFECTING that part. And you would have replaced the fuse. That's a simple example. But, when you do get your code(s) read for free at AutoZone, they will see the part that is affected. And, they WILL sell you the part. BUT, they have done nothing more for you than make your wallet a bit lighter. The most OVERSOLD (meaning UNNECESSARILY sold) part of all auto parts is the o2 sensor. Why? They read a CODE ONLY, saw the part - and replaced it --- without regard to the fact that a simple connector may have just been a bit corroded.  (Oct 5, 2012 | post #49)

There are many things that can cause that. Sometimes, simple maintenance is ignored and you can get a symptom like that. Has the throttle body ever been cleaned? Have you replaced the fuel filter? Have you used BG44K (every 7500 miles is best) in the fuel system? I would tackle those things that need to be done on a perdiodic basis before throwing money at the car without direction.  (May 1, 2012 | post #46)

The transponder in the key fob doesn't communicate with the engine - it communicates with the ignition switch. You need to find someone who can properly diagnose the problem. The fact that you got an engine for $3000 installed makes me think that you did not get this done professionally - or certainly not with a engine that was re-manufactured. Dis you get this engine from a junk yard?  (Mar 30, 2012 | post #37)

Sabrina, Of all of the 05 Magnums that have been sold, you are going to take these few negative posts and decide to condemn the vehicle altogether? Really?  (Feb 3, 2012 | post #129)

Prince William Latinos Vow to Fight Restrictions

It's difficult for me to grasp the mind-set of those people who cannot understand that ILLEGAL is the word in play. Would these same people be saying that it wouldn't be a problem if they came home to 15 strangers sitting in their living room eating their food and watching their TV? They may be nice people. But they weren't invited. What's the recourse for the home-owner? Would he/she simply accept that? Move into another room and ignore it? Answer is NO! They would call the police! Why? Because those people entered the home ILLEGALLY! How hard is it to see the analogy?  (May 27, 2011 | post #1172)

If the car turns over, the battery i snot dead. However, it MAY be weak. The battery needs to provide a minimum voltage in order for the car to actually start and run. If your battery is over 3 years old, I would have it checked under load. Really, there are SO many things that can cause your symptoms, it would be impossible to narrow down in this forum. You could 1st start be seeing if there are any codes stored in the computer. The TITLE to the code, after you look it up, is NOT used to replaced something. There is a corresponding diagnostic tree that must be followed in order to properly find the cause. Go to ALLDATA.COM and subscribe. You probably do not have all the test equipment needed. I once had a no start condition is my Magnum. Local mechanic couldn't figure out what went wrong. Dealership could: The water pump had frozen and, as a result, the timing gears and chain basically imploded. MAJOR bottom end work (thankfully under warrantee). Dealer time...  (May 25, 2011 | post #19)

Smoking

Ohio approves state smoking ban

When dealing with those who do smoke and those who do, it's fair (for the sake of forums such as this one) to recognize the extremes. Unfortunately, those who do smoke are the ones that have 'split' the other group into two: 'Non-Smokers' and 'Anti-Smokers'. The reality, the SMOKING group should also be split into two. The context brought out in many of these posts put all smokers into one category - the extreme. Extreme meaning: rude, thoughtless and uncaring toward others who do NOT smoke. Clearly there are those who smoke and there are those who deserve to be put in the extreme category. Many of us are not in the extreme. We wouldn't think of smoking around anyone who was NOT smoking or known to be a smoker. As a thoughtful and considerate person, it is my duty to recognize those around me and act respectfully.  (Mar 7, 2011 | post #76617)
