Grumman space engineers recall hard work, immense pride

I was at the Cradle of Aviation museaum about a year or so ago, and I remember talking to a curator who used to work for Grumman, and on the LM project. I could see the pride in his face, as he stood there with me talking about what it was like to work on a piece of history, it was a feeling that i have never forgotten  (Jul 22, 2009 | post #18)

Poll: NY voters angry over Senate coup

How much do you want to bet that newsday won't talk about the coup next year, but only go on about all the wonderful things that the democratic senators have done for us since the last election?  (Jul 21, 2009 | post #34)

Poll: NY voters angry over Senate coup

The childish behavior of the NYS Senate is an embarrasment to everyone who is from NY, and only goes to show how much partisan politics can and do cripple our governments. We need to elect people who do not side with legislation based on which party made it, so much as people who do or do not support it based off of what the legislation is about, and how it serves the people these idiots represent, as opposed to how it will serve only themselves. The only major problem is that when the next elections come around, a vast majority of people will forget about how their senators own political agendas paralized the state. DO NOT FORGET what has happened when you goto the polls next yea. Vote out all the senators who didn't work for a month, because of their kindergarten behavior.  (Jul 20, 2009 | post #17)

USDA may regulate all food sold in schools

This is ridiculous. The USDA shouldn't need to regulate what is sold in the schools under the guise of protecting the children. It is very simple if a kid wants a twinkee and a coke, they are going to get a twinkee and a coke, because that is what they are used to eating at home. It is the responsibility of the parents to encourage healty eating habits not the governments, especially since the majority of meals are eaten at home. encourage the kids to eat an orange and drink a water, at home, instead of saying that twinkees are no longer allowed to be sold in the school, because then all they are going to do is go to the 7-11, or the deli next door, where they can buy all the garbage that they want.  (Jul 12, 2009 | post #7)

Again, no progress in Senate stalemate

When is the next election so we can vote all of these idiots out, and put people who will actually work (granted for their own agenda, but it would at least look like something is being done) in Albany?  (Jul 6, 2009 | post #11)

Obama arrives in Russia with full plate

perfect time to start talking about reducing the amount of nukes we have while Iran and North Korea are trying to make them.  (Jul 6, 2009 | post #45)

Perez Hilton says he was punched by Black Eyed Peas' manager

I thought it was funny watching him cry on the news last night, what is even better is the fact that he constantly would change his story, one miniute he was assaulted by Will.I.Am, but then 5 seconds later he was assaulted by their manager. Watching him cry, made me want to go out there and just tell him to man the F up. I think it would be funny to see how he would respond to someone telling him that.  (Jun 23, 2009 | post #43)

Senate OK's credit card 'bill of rights'

A Bank of America spokeswoman said Tuesday consumers with interest rates under 10 percent are getting new rates in the midteens. "Our costs in providing credit have significantly increased," said Betty Riess. Why are they allowed to punish us for what the government is doing? If I pay the minimum or more on my monthly bill to them and have consistantly done so for the past few years, then why should my interest rate fo up, If I have proven to them that I am not a liability to extend credit to?  (May 19, 2009 | post #1)

Credit card overhaul passes 90 to 5 with clause allowing ...

Credit card overhaul passes 90 to 5 with clause allowing ...

Wonderful way to honor those who died to protect your freedoms. You are probably one of the majority of people in this country who were calling for war 9/12/2001, but then quickly forgot why we went to war in the first place. Lets flashback for a miniute to the night of June 6th 1944 when over 9,000 Allies were killed or wounded in Normandy. Are you going to blame FDR, or Churchill for that stupid war as well, and think that our boys shouldn't have been there in the first place? As sad and horrible as it is, war is a something that will always be here no matter what, and we should all honor those that have answered the call of duty, and gave the ultimate sacrifice to us and our country and our way of life. They deserve more then what you are giving them.  (May 19, 2009 | post #10)

Recession hits Bethpage's U.S. Open sponsorships

I pay for things cash. If I can't afford it, I don't get it. Jobs are out there, the problem is most people are unwilling to stick their hands in the mud and get dirty to earn a dollar. yes forclosures are extremely high, but it is mostly because of people who took out loans that were above what they could afford to pay, and still meet all of their other obligations. If the recession was as bad as everyone makes it out to be there would be more boarded up businesses, and most resturants would go the way of Bennagains, and the malls would be empty.  (May 19, 2009 | post #18)

MTA top job is a critical one for the entire region

I would apply for the job, but unfortunatly I have the one thing the past chiefs have seemed to be without, and that is a soul, and the ability to balance a check book.  (May 19, 2009 | post #4)
