The folly of German bishops making Catholics pay | Sophia...

LOL - secular values at best. Pay your country club fees of no more golf for you buddy. What would we say if Iran made Christians pays such a tax? The whole idea is offensive. From the article: The drive to designate non-paying adherents as outcasts who have committed "a grave offence against the Christian community" has been met with distaste by both liberal and conservative Catholic groups in Germany and the issues that this case raises go right to the heart of the shifting nature of Catholic identity. Germany's church tax is worth €5bn a year to the Catholic church, with those registered as Catholics paying an additional 8-9% of their income tax bill (Protestants and Jews also contribute to their own groups under the same terms). A simple de-registration will stop the tax being levied, but faced with hemorrhaging numbers (181,000 people left the German Catholic church in 2010 alone), the German bishops have upped the ante...  (Oct 2, 2012 | post #8)

TEC: When Those Who Are Right Get it Wrong

LMAO - I am about as much an 'anti-Semite' as you are Pro-Episcopalian. Once again I am opposed to no language group and I think there is only one ‘race’ on this planet and it is called human.  (Oct 1, 2012 | post #31)

Arguments for, against same-sex marriage

One still has to wonder why this non-Episcopalian is featured in this site so often. He really belongs with the Merry Pirates of the Global South and their North American allies.  (Sep 29, 2012 | post #4)

TEC: When Those Who Are Right Get it Wrong

Joe 'Boom Boom' DeCara is 'non-sectarian' and has no fixed opinions on anything other then his intense hate of all things related to TEC and his love of his own opinions.  (Sep 29, 2012 | post #25)

The Archbishop of Canterbury's 'Mea Culpa'

Of course the accounts were written after the Jewish rebellion (appoximately 70AD) and the destruction of the Temple and the Diporia had stared. Wonder why the 'authors' of the Gospels would walk gently around this topic of who killed Christ Jesus and why.  (Sep 22, 2012 | post #22)

Why is faith falling in the US?

God seems to be 'gender confused'. How is that possible?  (Sep 21, 2012 | post #282)

Why is faith falling in the US?

As we say in the TEC Book of Common Prayer at every Baptism. It seems to be perfectly clear statement of our practice and believe. The Baptism N., I baptize you in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank you that by water and the Holy Spirit you have bestowed upon these your servants the forgiveness of sin, and have raised them to the new life of grace. Sustain them, O Lord, in your Holy Spirit. Give them an inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to persevere, a spirit to know and to love you, and the gift of joy and wonder in all your works. Amen. N., you are sealed by the Holy Spirit in Baptism and marked as Christ's own for ever. Amen. Let us welcome the newly baptized. Celebrant and People We receive you into the household of God. Confess the faith of Christ crucified, proclaim his resurrection, and share with us in his eternal priesthood.  (Sep 20, 2012 | post #271)

The Archbishop of Canterbury's 'Mea Culpa'

“When the going gets tough the tough get going” The Arch-Bishop of York is actual the Primate for the Church of ENgland. Has Lord Rowan forgotten that point? Now this is classic English a classic understatement at its very finest. From the article: In his last major interview before stepping down later his year, he acknowledged that he had struggled to balance the growing demands of the job at home and abroad. He also admitted he had "disappointed " both liberals and conservatives. Has Lord Rowan forgotten that the Arch-Bishop of York is actually the Primate for the Church of England? The Queen is the actual Head of the Church of England. http://www.newworl dencyclopedia.org/ entry/Anglican_Com munion The Archbishop of Canterbury, religious head of the Church of England, has no formal authority outside that jurisdiction, but is recognized as symbolic head of the worldwide communion. Among the other primates, he is primus inter pares, or "first among equals." However, he has no jurisdiction outside his own province. Nonetheless, churches are not considered to be in the Anglican Communion unless they are in full communion with him.[1] Has Lord Rowan forgotten that the ACC is also only part of the four ‘Instruments of Union’ in the Communion and that it is the only one approved by all the other churches in the ‘Communion’? http://www.newworl dencyclopedia.org/ entry/Anglican_Com munion The Archbishop of Canterbury, religious head of the Church of England, has no formal authority outside that jurisdiction, but is recognized as symbolic head of the worldwide communion. When did you become a goddess to judge others in such a way as your did in this case? Isn't that non-christian Wiccan worship to put the goddess first? In the spirit of your true faith: Blessed Be! Merry Meet, Merry Part, Merry Meet Again!  (Sep 17, 2012 | post #5)
