Gay Marriage - Charlotte, NC

Marriage is between a man and a woman. I see nothing wrong with a Civil Union between gays. They have as many rights under a Civil Union (Contract) as married couples.  (Mar 10, 2011 | post #52)

Don't let it freak you out. If you have the implant operation then you'll be pleased with the results. With the LGX it will look thicker, and as Jack stated, it will be hard. Very hard.  (Apr 21, 2010 | post #239)

Go here: www.americanmedica lsystems.com Left side of the page: Men's health. AMS 700 LGX is what you're looking for. A lot of us have had them. During sex the woman can't tell the difference from before to today. Same thing, it just stays up longer (if that's your desire). The pump only becomes an issue if she wants it to be. Think about it this way, if two Boys are good then three Boys are better. Yes, she can feel it. It's between the two original Boys. The woman who frantically complained about her husband's implant is a sad thing. I don't know of anyone who elects to get that kind of an implant any longer. It's a bit out of date. Good luck, and if you have it done then welcome back. Tim  (Jan 4, 2010 | post #204)

Complicated area to mess with. Let me see, we men can have artificial sphincters to control our bladder output, artificial balls (Mentor) to make us look "original ", and an inflatable penis allowing us to, once again, enjoy memories of our youthful years when all it took was a slight breeze blowing across it to get it up. Silk boxers did the same thing. I call my AMS LGX my Bionic Dick. My wife laughs. My problem with her laughing is I don't know if she finds that funny, or, whether she's laughing at me! Ha! Jake I recall my doc telling me in general conversation that they can put in a type of sphincter that simulates the natural one. I didn't get into that with him, but I think you're right in that it can be corrected or partially corrected. There must be more to it than that though, because it would only seem logical to put that device in at the time of surgery. But, perhaps they feel because of all the trauma from the initial surgery that it would be too much. Not sure about any of that. Best advice is to ask your Urologist.  (Dec 21, 2009 | post #193)

Yo, Bobby, you want to discuss this with me, or, do you just want to wing it? Tim  (Dec 8, 2009 | post #178)

That's more than enough pain for a life time, Jack.  (Nov 20, 2009 | post #164)

Jack, as we have discussed, there are two avenues physicians take in accomplishing this, one, the public, one, the scrotum. You and I both have had the scrotum approach and we know the post-op pain it causes. For a fact, they're both painful, so let's deal with that fact. What I have found in this blog has been the lack of information on the post-op affect. It's mostly been about, "Hey, I can get it up, again, whoopee!" Good, and that's great, but it doesn't come without some degree of pain. And, yes, we all experience pain in different ways, so let's keep that in mind. The one thing someone has to think about here is, yes, there will be pain, but, it subsides pretty quickly. As I wrote above, I'm two weeks post-op and when I stand in front of the mirror after showering in the morning, everything looks as it did. Again, no pain, no gain. On a more humorous note I can see how the woman, after having given birth to a child could say to her husband, "You keep THAT thing away from me!" :-)  (Nov 19, 2009 | post #156)

All of what Jack says is spot on an emotional level, but you need to remember that this is major surgery. I'm two weeks post-op today and, although, the healing continues, and the swelling is 95% down, you need to understand this isn't a cake walk. My scrotum swelled up to the size of a soft ball. There is pain, and not to be trite about this, but "no pain, no gain." I walk tenderly today. I roll over in bed slowly. To help with that I placed a pillow between my legs in bed so as not to have my leg come in contact with "The Boys" while I slept. Last night was the first night I was able to sleep though the night w/o it. If you have a hot tub then use it after about a week or so. That's been a God send to me as we have one on the back deck. Jr. & The Boys get to float freely in the water. A bath might work, too, but in my case I don't see any reason to use it. Another thing, I don't know how anyone can do this and take off work for the time it takes to heal. If you're working take a two or three week vacation - you'll need every bit of it. The word "vacation " in this situation is actually an oxymoron. Ask questions of the physician. Set your mind at ease and if he's worth his salt then he'll walk you though this step by step and tell you what you can expect. There are NO stupid questions, remember that. Do NOT go into this blind. If I can pass on one thing to anyone thinking about this it would be that gravity will be your worst enemy. I know it will hurt, but keep "The Boys" UP. They'll give you a supporter after surgery - USE IT! WEAR IT! Tim  (Nov 18, 2009 | post #149)

Kevin Shandera. UrologySpecialists . Pineville, right next to the hospital on Park. You can write me direct at [email protected] om if you want. He has done a couple of hundred and now only uses the AMX LGX. Mine is coming along, but you have to understand this is surgery and the cut and the healing time they tell you - 4 to 6 weeks - is spot on. It's the 13th and I am almost down to normal. I'll talk with you on the phone if you wish. Tim  (Nov 13, 2009 | post #142)

Well, Jack, as you know I had it done and I'm now 6 days post-op. Operation only took 45 minutes. I was in recovery for six hours. No clue as to why. After Day 1 the pain began and I can assure you I have never had such pain before in my life. But, I just kept thinking that "this too shall pass". Each day gets better. My balls blew up to the size of a soft ball. I kid you not! There was one complication, but it's not worth the space or the time to get into here, suffice to say it was a minor complication. I can't tell if I've lost any length, but according to everything I've read, here and other places, I will lose some. Judging from what I can see now I doubt that will be much. For sure the girth is better. I guess the wife will like that. :-) The surgeon implanted the AMS700 LGX. At this juncture, if I've lost any length I really don't care. All I want is to get beyond the swelling and to the point where the pain is gone. I guessing right now that might be within the next 14 days. I am waiting two month before going back to the surgeon for addition training and instructions. Tim  (Nov 10, 2009 | post #131)

Studies show Viagra, other drugs outperform hormone treat...

Maybe, but only for 53% of the men who have ED. I wouldn't call that a highly successful drug when it only works in a little over 50% of the cases.  (Nov 2, 2009 | post #1)
