With the CAP there is no doubt that there are going to be some players traded to free up some cap space. With that they will resign Kane, Toews and Keith. There is no way the Hawks are letting any of them leave. My question to you is if you are a Wings fan as you appear to be why are you writing on a Hawks story?? And by admission of the Wings GM Hossa had the torn rotater cuff last year and it got hurt even worst in the playoffs. That is why he dodn't play too well in the finals. He was a very good player for the Wings last year.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #52)

NHL Players are still very humble people. How many times do you hear of a Football or, Basketball or Baseball player talking to fans when they are out on the street. Or how about when they are at a resturant, or even at the gym. Hockey players do that all the time. Maybe they make alot more than the average person. But that is how it is in sports today, it is the price for entertainment. The same could be said for movie stars too. But Hockey players are genuine and will talk to the fans and sign any autograph. I have no problem what they are paying hockey players and the ticket prices are still the cheapest out there. How much does it cost to take a family to a football game, or a Baseball game. Blackhawk ticket prices are cheap, go to their site and check it out.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #38)

Section 313, 317, the other older regular posters here if you have a chance email me I have something I have to send to you. You can use [email protected] oo.com. I don't understand what the issue is with the board of gov's. Detroit did the same with a few of their players so give me a break. But when Hossa gets on the ice with our other players it will be worth it, they are going to be very good this year. I can't wait for the season to start.  (Jul 31, 2009 | post #28)

Chad, I commend you for sticking up for Havlat. When healthy Havlat is a great player. But he will never have his sweater retired and probably never get into the Hall of Fame. Havlat was NOT a leader in the Hawks dressing room. He was very quiet, and didn't take charge. Martin LaPointe while maybe not as great of a skater, or half as gifted as a scorer was a leader in the locker room. And LaPointe did almost rip Havlats head off a few years ago. Havlat was not giving 100% on the ice, several players made comments about that. And BFM is right, last year I was one of the few that talked about how great Havlat is. Everyone wanted that guy traded, and would have taken a draft pick for him. Now since he had a good year the talk is totally different. Personally I would take Hossa any day over Havlat. Hossa is a better player and does not get injured like Havlat. And believe me Havlat will get hurt again. No one even knows how he will be after the concussion he got against Detroit. Give it a year or 2 and you will see Kane, and Toews putting up numbers like Marty. I thought the Hawks would have been crazy to offer Marty a long term contract when he played 1 full season. So when Hossa gets on the ice and is having a killer season how many people that are complaining about his injury are going to be on here saying what a great signing. And what about when Havlat gets hurt again. As long as the team is winning, and we win a Cup, I don't really care what issue they may of had. Hossa will heal quick and kick some rear  (Jul 27, 2009 | post #41)

McD needs to stop and think about every comment made over the last few weeks. Please McD please think before you release any statement. You are looking very bad. I had a feeling that he was going to have surgery.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #55)

Dude you need to read what I said, so let me quote what I wrote. "People forget that LaPointe almost beat the crap out of Havlat a few years ago cause he just didn't give 100% all the time." I would love to see you say that to Martin LaPointe. That guy was a very tough player and great leader.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #54)

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but sorry Hossa is a huge improvement over Havlat. I have a bet going with a few of my fellow Hawks fans on the over/under of how many games Havlat will play this year. I really think that since Hossa decided to get the surgery it is a good thing. That way when he gets in the line up he will be healthy and that is a good thing. I can't wait for him to play but I can wait. People forget that LaPointe almost beat the crap out of Havlat a few years ago cause he just didn't give 100% all the time. There were plenty of times last season when he was the same way. Last season was the first time in Marty's career that he was healthy for the entire season. He could be a GREAT player, but he gets hurt too often. The Hawks could not gamble on that, and I don't blame them for not resigning him. IF anyone here looks at the papers in MN there is alot of concern there that they got rid of Gaborick who was always hurt, and got themselves another player that is always hurt. Plus no one knows how he will be after he took that huge hit in the Detroit series. Concussions have a way of lingering.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #49)

I think the sign is really cool, but for the Bulls to be posting it and not the Hawks is a joke. Everyone knows the Hawks were the Madhouse on Madison period. The Bulls just pump in alot of noise, the Hawks fans make alot of noise.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #48)

At the convention one of my friends wanted to buy her partial package. So we went to the booth on Friday night, whoever had the partial plans last year were first in line to get the partials this year. The prices went up to $ 25.00 per ticket in the 300 level and there was only the 9 game plan available. Now there were 3 seperate options for the 9 game plan. I am glad that I got my full season tickets, except we lose 2 games this year cause of Finland trip, and Europe trip. I wonder why they cut back on the partial season ticket plans. They could have had a different package with less games than the 21 game, maybe the savard package that would be popular. I know that you have Foley to listen to but nothing beats being in the UC. Also did anyone see the changes they made to the uc?? Why are the Bulls trying to capitalize on this I have no idea, the Madhouse is cause of the Hawks fans. Check it out. http://www.nba.com /bulls/news/madhou se_090715.html  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #41)

No way would he have sat in a contract year. It was hurt all of last year, and he hurt it more in the playoffs. I still think that with the team we have even without Hossa in the line up for a few months.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #40)

According to the Hawks 90% of the full season ticket holders renewed their tickets. The partial plan like the 21 game really stinks that it is only in the 100 level. I stayed off the boards during the playoffs too many stupid people on here, but now I am back. I know that BFM and Chico17 are back too. The convention this year was even better than last year. To me it was too short, I can't believe it is over. I would recommend to any Hawks fan to go to the convention. I still would love to see Tony come up for it.  (Jul 23, 2009 | post #36)
