Clayton County scrambles to keep accreditation

John Thompson wants to be the shining knight on a white horse - what a joke. He's mostly the reason SACS took accreditation from CC. SACS advised that dysfunctional School Board to not hire that idiot at a near 400-K package, but they hired him anyway and now a half million dollars later CC citzens are having to pay for it.  (Aug 30, 2008 | post #2)

The fallout from the Bigfoot hoax

Did you purchase the vehicle from the guy with him being listed on the title as the owner, or did the guy represent an used car dealership? If on the back of the title the assignor (seller)is a business i.e.. used car dealer, and you want out of the deal contact the Ga. MVD. Good luck!  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #6)

The fallout from the Bigfoot hoax

This persons concerns are legit.. and not a "load of bullshit." I'm not sure what you inhabitants on that piece of crust that's about to break away from solid soil and drop into the abyss of hell call it, but in Georgia, it's called the MVD. And, it's against Georgia law to sell a motor vehicle less than 13 years old without a title. In this particular case a replacement title could be obtained, however, a replacement title comes with a cloud over head and will always be subject to the original title and the rights of the assignee(s)thereof .  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #5)

Police Arrest Suspect in Shooting at Krystal Restaurant

"The real culprit are the individual who made such a decision. Telling poor people who have no car or means to stop walking where they have to go and simply don't go where you need to go to get food or medicine or find a job." The ones I'm most pissed off at are the ones who told the "real culprit" this - bring us your money and buy MY/OUR properties and you can relocate your problems to this area and we'll even establish public transit to move them around. I'm talking about the Clayton County Commissioners in office through the first half of the 1990's. They got rich when the City of Atlanta started house cleaning in order to accommodate the 96 Olympic games. Crandle Bray made a lot of money off the Atlanta Beach deal and Charlie Grizwell as well as others supported the sale off of Clayton County back then. I still do not understand how a life long resident of this county like Charlie Grizwell would support the likes of Jewell Scott for DA and Lee Scott, for Chairman in 08. He and Herman Talmage Jr. (another life long resident) were both the largest financial backers of both the Scotts.  (Aug 22, 2008 | post #20)

Clayton Schools Will Lose Accreditation

dixiedarling, during my JHS days, life in CC was by far more simple than it is today. :)  (Aug 11, 2008 | post #148)

Clayton Schools Will Lose Accreditation

dixiedarling, there are areas in Clayton County that I would flee, too. I'm just grateful that in my particular area it's not as bad as others. I've been in CC all of my life and attended Jonesboro, Hs...... and you're right, I think CC will rise again under good leadership.  (Aug 11, 2008 | post #146)

NO Scott"s or Hill's in Clayton County in 2009

Thank you. Although our voter turn out is lower than what it should be, at least enough of our right thinking citizens made it to the poll to "get us over the Hill and Scott free."  (Aug 8, 2008 | post #5)

Clayton School Board Names Interim Schools Chief

The fact that SACS felt Thompson is unqualified to lead CC schools isn't bad enough. To pack salt in the wound we're paying Thompson a package deal of 400-k for his 280 +/- tenure and of that 280 day contract 107 days of paid leave are included - too-boot! At the end of his short term he gets paid for any leave days he didn't take. I'll promise you this, when our school board officials were elected qualifications wasn't the prime consideration.  (Aug 7, 2008 | post #11)

To All Clayton County Voters............

marsha, I'm elated right along with you and I agree with dixiedarling, the BOE should now be called to the table and held accountable for their past actions! In light of our run-off election results along with a major BOE clean up, our property values will cease to decline and perhaps increase in the next few years. However, the BOE is currently our biggest deterrent to increased property values because who wants to buy property in CC and enroll children in our schools with our dysfunctional BOE?  (Aug 6, 2008 | post #7)
