people kill people; not guns or knives!!

The point of my comment is this, just becuase the government might make guns illegal doesn't mean that they won't exist and people won't use them.. I was using the drugs as an example to prove my point. The government made the drugs illegal but they're still on every corner of every street, just like the guns will be if they become illegal. The only difference will be is that the bad guys will have the guns not the good guys. Do you honestly believe that if they ban rifles that they won't exist? Because if you do, you should probably join the rest of society down here on earth. Maybe you should go back and read my comment again and you'll understand it, but this time do with your head out of your back side!!  (Dec 17, 2012 | post #15)

Yeah I can see where banning guns would be the answer to senseless deaths by firearms. I mean when the government banned crack and heroin that made everyone immediately stop using those drugs, right? Of course that was a little bit of sarcasm there. How come you people can't realize that when the government bans certain guns it's not going to stop the bad guys from having them, hence the reason why they're called bad guys they don't obey the law. All the banning of these guns will do is make the law abiding citizens get rid of or not purchase anymore of these guns, that's it. There's still going to be school shootings, mall shootings, and workplace shootings all across the country. The bad guys will steal or make these guns if they have to it's not hard to make these rifles. so go ahead and vote to ban these guns and lose one of your freedoms to protect yourself.  (Dec 17, 2012 | post #10)

Death on 273 Could Have Been Prevented by City

The state decided to widen that road years ago, and it's set to begin within the next year. It's just too bad that guy decided to speed way above the posted speed limit, drive a vehicle that was in such bad shape that it shouldn't have been on the road, and decided not to wear his seatbelt. It could have all been prevented by the driver. It's unfortunate that he died, but Mt. Holly had nothing to do with this seeing as how they don't maintain the roads, the state does.  (May 3, 2012 | post #8)

Linear Park Beside Train Track

Well exercise at Tuckaseege Park, there's no railroad tracks there, or go to the Y. Better yet don't even drive down Central Ave or Highway 27 because those roads are parallel to the railroad tracks. You know what? I think the city planners done that on purpose so people would have to "huddle" by the railroad tracks. I haven't done my research but I'm pretty sure more people die from car crashes than by a train hopping the tracks and killing people. Hey Truth, do you drive? Cause if you do maybe you should think about not driving. There's a lot of crazy drivers out and I just don't think it's safe for families to be driving.  (Mar 20, 2012 | post #12)

Linear Park Beside Train Track

What about the businesses that has been right beside the tracks since the beginning of time? Maybe we should just tear them down and rebuild them somewhere else.. Why don't you go to belmont and tell them they're going to have to get rid of stowe park since it's beside the railroad tracks and tell them they can't have their festivals downtown since a railroad track goes straight through the middle of them. If you're scared of walking beside the train tracks then don't, and don't let your family, but for the rest of the population that refuse to live in fear we"re going to enjoy the linear park that your tax dollars helped construct.  (Mar 20, 2012 | post #9)

Linear Park Beside Train Track

Is anybody on this forum ever satisfied with anything?!?! Or is it just a place for people to B!tCH? I think the linear park makes Mt. Holly look more appealing on 27. Now if we can just bulldoze the low end, and most of the people in it, Mt. Holly would be the perfect little city!!  (Mar 19, 2012 | post #4)

The Park.

The cops think they have better things to do than harass kids as well trust me. They get called out there from certain people every time someone skates with no helmet. My friend is married to a mt holly cop and he doesn't like having to take time away from other aspects of his job to go down there and babysit someone elses kid. I guess that's what happens when you work for small town government. I say post the rules real big and if they skate with no helmet and spill their brains all over the place, it will be self correcting.  (Sep 10, 2011 | post #7)
