Am I still counted as a Witness?

Hello Wonder... It is good to see you too... and yes it's been some time. Thank you so much for your kind words... I hope that what I say... will always be known to have come from my heart and even if I should should say something in error... that it might be known that no malice is or was intended, only genuine love. I know that when God got me... He didn't get very much. (I think if you boil me down I'm worth less than a couple of dollars if that much.) He surely didn't and doesn't need my help to keep the earth rotating and the galaxies spinning either. I look at the heroes of faith though out the centuries and it is sometimes humbling to think... Their vast knowledge... their great faith... their sacrifices and sufferings... and yet as effective as they were... God allowed them to pass away.... only to raise another to take their place. I will never possess a fraction of their knowledge and even at their greatest they still, (As Paul says..), "See dimly"... not knowing all things. So I feel in good company trusting by faith.. as to what He did and not what I have done. I can relate it to the awesome experience I had when I first walked out from the saplings at the rim of the Grand Canyon and saw for the very first time the enormous beauty of His handiwork! I witnessed others with tears flowing down their cheeks and some who almost collapsed at the enormity. I felt so small... so inadequate... almost as when you are in a small craft in the ocean and lose sight of land. All this of nature is a testament of His Glory... and even here I couldn't add one thing to make it greater. All I need is to enjoy it! But I'm sure there are those who would want to put in something... add something... trying to make it even greater. God doesn't need our help... He doesn't need us to grab a paint brush and help Him color the sunrise. We are to simply love God and one another. Faith produces acts of love. It is a fearful and awesome thing to stand in the presence of such greatness... and to know that we have that same opportunity to approach the God of the Bible in prayer and also in presence one day. One day, (Who know when?), I will stand before the Lord and give an account... I don't thing the vistas of this world nor the vastness of the seas will compare to falling to our knees before our Savior. Every knee shall bow... and like John... I'm sure I'll fall like a sack of potatoes! Should He ask why I should be allowed to enter.... My only response shall be; "Not for anything I've done... but only in believing by faith and trusting in what He did for us. I will always trust in the promises of God. Am I still counted as a Witness?

Thank you Karen... You are so right... Life is a journey... we can either be "stepping stones" or "stumbling stones" to others as we travel life's joys and concerns. Thank you for your kind words also. I pray that I might be only a "stepping stone" in another's life. Are they the better off for our meeting? In this life we will know tribulations Christ said. And we all do and that's okay... One day I'll surely pass away and that's okay too. But at this moment in time, I am grateful for all the "blessings ", and even the trials too... for when once through them... I can look back time and time again... and see they were for my own good. I too pray for those who search for something to believe in, seeking for eternal life (Salvation), and can't seem to find it. It's simple and sometimes the simple things are the ones often overlooked. Eternal life, (Salvation.), is a person... and that person is Christ Jesus. It can not be found elsewhere if you believe the scriptures. Since we were not there 2,000 years ago when He was crucified... we cannot claim anything in our strength to add to what He did, for the forgiveness of sins and our Salvation. Surely not a spotless, sinless life... because we are all sinners... nor a stripe upon our bodies, and surely not a nail or spear wound either. It is the love of God, revealed through His Son, to offer once for all the sacrifice that nothing else could or would be worthy and acceptable before a Holy God. I hope to only share the faith... not in a combative manner. But just to share what the scriptures give us in their entirety. God only reveals Himself through His Word... and we must feed and be nourished on His Word daily. God bless you and the rest for your faith and love for others. I believe that if one word on our tombstones were decided... it should be as Christ lived in the flesh and as we should allow Him to live through a life yielded through the Holy Spirit, by us.... "Others... ". Theo..  (Jan 21, 2015 | post #226)

Am I still counted as a Witness?

Thank you Karen... I wrote what I did... not so much for you because I feel I've known you long enough to know where your heart lies... I couldn't help but notice the rabbit trails... and I saw the opportunity to say what was laid upon my heart also.... that we all are counted as witnesses and one day will be given the chance to present our plea before Christ as to what kind of witness we were for Him. That in itself is enough to chill the blood of most of us. I'm like you... I'm no respecter of denominations nor organizations... I belong, as yourself, to the "body" of believers as described by Paul in Eph. and as well as part of the "family" of God as described by John in 1st John.. I too hope you've been well and I've missed you, the others and being here. I've had a few health issues, but that's life.... but I've have longed to return to share here. It was good to see that you were one of the 1st replies that came up from past subject matters. I know where my heart is as you do... as well as I know in whom I trust and believe. When one knows these things... though we are not perfect.. we can stand firm and assured against those things which will surely come our way.  (Jan 16, 2015 | post #222)

Am I still counted as a Witness?

Though the "Real Karen's" question has probably, in time past, been answered and the subject rabbit trailed off in many directions. I believe through remembrance as to where her heart is and remains... I've read a good many responses and must answer once more the question of; Am I still counted as a witness?". I know the underlining reason for her question as to pertaining to the KH... and being on their rolls as a member. And after thinking on the question for some time... it seems to me that the question should and could refer to anyone belonging to any denomination, organization, group, etc. I myself am not sure if I remain on the rolls of the last church of which I belonged. It basically is an issue of little importance. My greatest concern would not to be, or not to be counted among these earthly groupings of "religions ", but rather that of the "rolls called up yonder"... as one of His sheep. To be one of the flock of the Shepherd, in the Lamb's book of life. Being a child of God makes me a Son, a joint-heir with Christ. Not only a part of the "Body" of Christ... a part of the "family" of God. As a son I may slip and fall into the pig pen... But I'm not a "pig".. I am a "Son"... And son will return to His Father... and yet the sow will return to the mire. We all are "witnesses " and we all are preachers. We all preach a sermon each day by the way we live our lives, by our words, by our hearts.... Giving "witness " to the love of God revealed through a life yielded to Christ... in and through the power and presence of His Holy Spirit. In this fact, we are all held "accountable " as to whether we are counted as "witnesses " or not. Man has no bearing on my faith. Faith is a gift of God. "Religion " is man-made. His Holy Word sheds the "light" in which to guide mine and your feet on this path of ours through life. God bless... Theo...  (Jan 16, 2015 | post #220)

Witnesses of what has happened or of details?

I agree, so tired of the claims of superiority. We're all unworthy... none are righteous, according to scriptures. There are many folks who don't believe in anything period. So be it. Who am I to condemn anyone? I was given the Word of God and have accepted it, first by hearing and faith... and then by study. Many don't see what I have seen and experienced... and I don't plan any longer to try to straighten them out on denomination and organizational differences... Why??? Because I'm having enough of a time trying to straighten Theo out! And I can't by myself! I place my trust in the Lord to help me out on that! I believe in salvation by grace through faith.... many believe you have to "do" something physical to achieve the same. Many place rules and regulations and all sorts of ethical regulations on behavior, diet, dress, and personal habits. I see a Savior that removed all these things by forgiveness by grace. Never will I be perfect... nor will ever claim to be. But I put my trust in Him. Many don't see "Him".. and if they ask me why I have hope and peace... "Then".. . I will offer the "witness " of my hope. Should I claim to be greater in faith??? No! I will claim to be on my knees before God... crying out for His mercy and forgiveness! I know I'm a screw up... I'm the one that made a mess of my life all the years of my youth. If my salvation is up to me, for me to do something worth of it... Then I'm doomed! He said to put it in His hands... and trust in Him. That's where I am and will "rest" in that place. I agree with your perception... folks will wage wars over a thought that they are carrying out God's wishes. There are folks who will reject anything you say.... some will accept it... some won't. I don't wish anyone harm for not accepting... and I would hope they could do the same. Good luck with that one! Take care and thanks for responding... Theo.  (Sep 9, 2013 | post #3)

Witnesses of what has happened or of details?

1 Cor. 13:12,13, "Now we see a blurred image in a mirror. Then we will see very clearly. Now my knowledge is incomplete. Then I will have complete knowledge as God has complete knowledge of me. So these three things remain: Faith, Hope, and Love. But the best of these is Love." I read this account in RBC the other day and was thinking about the Forum and other areas of discussion and study I've been engaged in. Thought this to be spot on! "When I was a teen, I witnessed an auto accident. It was a shocking experience that was compounded by what followed. As the only witness to the incident, I spent months telling a series of lawyers and insurance adjustors what I had seen. I was NOT expected to explain the physics of the wreck or the details of the medical trauma. I was asked to tell ONLY what I had witnessed. As followers of Christ, we are called to be witnesses of what Jesus has done in us and for us. To point people to Christ, we don't need to be able to explain every theological issue or answer every question. What we must do is explain what we have witnessed in our own lives through the cross, and the resurrection of the Savior. Even better is that we don't have to rely on ourselves alone to do this. Jesus said, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8) As we rely on the Spirit's power, we can point a hurting world to the redeeming Christ. With His help, we can witness to the life-changing power of His presence in our lives. --Bill Crowder-- Andy Stanley also had a remarkable statement that addresses a lot of things regarding the Good News. "The word Gospel means "good news". The "good news" is that good people don't necessarily go to heaven--forgiven people do! And if you have placed you faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior... You are one of those forgiven people." Perhaps one day we could get past differences and share Christ and not religion. Theo...  (Sep 9, 2013 | post #1)

Fake Christmas

Christ is risen! "May the Lord bless you and keep you.. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you... May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you Peace... For my "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let it be afraid." For You and You alone have been our Help in ages past, and our Hope for years to come... You are our refuge, our sanctuary, our safe harbor in the storms of life. For according to Thy Word, You will neither leave us nor forsake us... for lo.. You shall be with us... even to the end of the age. For You and You alone have been our dwelling place in all generations... from before the mountains were brought forth or ever Thous hadst formed the earth and the world.... even from everlasting to everlasting Thou art God... He is our Rock and our Fortress, our Hope, our Help, our Strength, our God in whom we trust! He is our shield and our high tower! Praise be to He who comes in the name of the LORD... and that being Thy Son, Jesus Christ. Whom you sent into the world, not to condemn the world, but rather through Him the world might be saved. That whosoever believeth upon Him is given the power to become children of God unto eternal life, which is salvation through Christ Jesus. For it is by grace we are saved, through faith; and that not of ourselves; it is a gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast. It is by His shed blood that we are found righteous and whole... with the penalty of our sins taken upon Himself... He has made us reconciled unto God... justified by faith... For we are His workmanship...crea ted in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God has before ordained that we should walk in them. His is the Way, the Truth, and the Life... by Him and only Him, we have access to the Father! Praise be unto God! Theo...  (Apr 1, 2013 | post #3662)

"The most unqualified will condemn you.... The most qualified; won't!" The lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world... doesn't condemn... He forgives, justifies, heals, makes whole, gives hope to the hopeless... Mediates between man and God against those who accuse. Makes peace between God and man. Holds us in His hands... Does not expect us to perfect... just faithful. Too many come in and trouble the faithful adding to requirements and traditions of man... Jesus met those requirements and nailed them to the cross. It's done.... He sat down... He said; "It is finished!" Just something to think about... God bless... Theo...  (Mar 26, 2013 | post #3564)

Well I'll be.... Really???? The worse kind, huh???? Really??? So that's the sin unto death maybe???? Deception by Santa!!!???? Point held by God??? Have you cover this with Him yet??? Nothing else on His agenda but Lamb and Santa???? Why didn't He send Gabriel or Michael??? He dialed 911 and you answered??? "Breaking News!" "Whole world is deceived spiritually by Santa Claus... Christianity is doomed! Churches buckle under the strain and close their doors due to the jolly old elf and heavy set wife baking cookies and making hot cocoa, bringing toys and joy to the children!" Oh the horrors!! The inhumanity of it all!!! "Little children I beseech thee not to play with toys offered by elves, for they are an abomination to God Himself and of the "worse deception"! " (source: Lamb News Agency)(Book of lamb, 1:3-4) With all that is going on in this world both within and without of the realm of faith... Do you mean to tell me that Santa Claus is in the top one percent of God's hated pagan deities??? With all that befalls mankind... all the horrors of war, terror, famine, poverty... etc. You're most concerned over Santa Claus???? Look who just gave Santa Claus a pedestal, to stand upon!!! A cloud in heaven to lean back on!!! You've by all this attention, have just elevated Santa into the realm of the "worse kind" of threats against God Himself! Look who, just breathed life into a figmentation of imagination! Screw world hunger and oppression... #1 on God's lists of "worse kinds" is "deception by Claus"! Look who just came out of the "claus-et "! I can almost see Him now biting His fingernails.... "Oh my Gabriel... What are we gonna do now??" Now that's funny! I needed that! I've felt bad and weak... and the laugh made me feel much better! Thanks! Theo...  (Mar 25, 2013 | post #3559)

Hello dee... You know sometimes I think things are hopeless in these areas. Jesus never commanded us to, nor forbade us the enjoyment of watching the hummingbirds and spring time festival of flowers and critters to our backyards. The joy of a warm sunny day or the peace of a spring rain. The same with sunrises and sunsets. He never had a vacation I suppose... and yet I never saw where He said we could or shouldn't. I suppose each forkful of food or sip of drink should be measured in whether it's excess or just right. We should take each bite or sip with a level of guilt factored in. Jesus never commanded us on many things... everyday joys of life. Would He have condemn someone for flying across country to attend a wedding or birth of a child??? After all that money could have been used elsewhere. Yet He wanted us to know joy and peace... the peace He gives. (Wonder how much three guys on camel back cost back then???) There are those who will stir still waters because it is in their nature to do so. Proverbs 6 speaks of such in verse 19... these 6 things God "hates", seven are detestable to Him.... those who sow discord among the brethren. It amazes me that at the birth of Christ... angels appeared... shepherds were visited and then visited the manger... Sounded like a joyful moment to me! Didn't sound like a time of woe! Wise men showed up afterwards... even today.. when a woman has a child... family comes in... visits are made... gifts are given to help the new parents out... Good-ness! How sin abounds!!! It's just horrible! To celebrate a birthday! Shame! If you were to simply state: "God loves you!" The reply would be (and they couldn't help it)... "Yes, but you know... You have to... this and that and over here you must..." It's all the laying of rules and regulations of a modern day Judaizer, a legalistic form of mixing law with grace. They want believers under law... and I don't mean Mosaic... for they pick and choose which of those they wish to follow. I firmly believe they want folks under the law according to them. You could say "black" and they'd say "white" and give you sixteen verses to back them up even if they must be snipped and pasted together like a ransom letter. Good luck... and God bless.. Snorkler: Your scripture (one of them) sir: Ephesians 2:8-10.... "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." Good works cannot produce salvation, but salvation can produce good works. We are not saved by good works, but we are saved unto good works. How can one perform good works acceptable to God until he has believed upon the Son? Only the imputed righteousness of God's Son can meet God's standards! The sinner cannot be saved by good works for he is unable to perform any good works acceptable to God. They are filthy rags. Romans 8:8 states... "So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God" This idea that in and of yourself you can please God absolutely contradicts the Word of God. It is impossible to please Him---you cannot meet His standard. Only by the blood are you found righteous, by His righteousness. We have none of our own. We were dead in trespasses and sin. God saved us by His grace, raising us now to heavenly places in Christ. Don't come along and say...with a "I hope to be saved." If you have placed your trust in Christ, you can say, "I am saved." Hope this works for you... Theo...  (Mar 21, 2013 | post #3510)
