Same old clowns posting.

JZ in KT, I have to agree. It's been ages since I've read a post that required a milligram of intelligence to write. I hope you're doing well. The Commie  (Feb 25, 2014 | post #6)

Conservatives doing what they do best

factcheck, It is what it is. No matter what you say or do, the system is not going to change. People that believe like you or me are outnumbered. Our fatal personality flaws have finally caught up with us. Therefore, you have two choices. You can stay here and accept the situation, or you can move to greener pastures. Bflo Neocon, Agreed! A college degree is not necessary to be successful in life. Until the GI Bill was passed after WW2, college was the exclusive realm of the wealthy and privileged. Prior to that, things such as engineering, chemistry, design, etc. for most was on the job training. We became a prosperous nation long before college was available to most people. Unfortunately, the value of a college education has diminished in recent years. Offering degree programs in gender studies, environmental studies (without the accompanying science), or geography, only serves to keep professors employed and provides no value to the student paying the tuition. Topix Buffalo "regulars" meet-up next Allentown Artfest W...

Folks, Count me in on this one. Voice of Reason raises a good point, none of us know how much time we have on this planet. One of the things I've noticed throughout the years is that despite all the ball busting that goes on, everybody manages to write warm and sincere messages during the Thanksgiving/Chris tmas holiday season. I propose getting together sometime after Thanksgiving but before Christmas. We can figure out a venue after we agree upon a date and a time. The Commie  (Sep 29, 2013 | post #11)

Daily Liberal Brianwashing

and you're surprised by this? After all, one Republican House member voted for Obamacare and as such it's all the Republicans fault. No matter what it's always the Republicans fault. Republicans have their faults and they have many but the Democrats will never own up to anything. The talking points are so predictable. The Commie  (Sep 22, 2013 | post #150)

Boyfriend charged with toddler's death

Mary, Contacting the police, CPS, etc. is a waste of time. These people are overpaid civil servants that won't stick their neck out for anybody or anything. With regard to legislators, congressman, etc. Unless you have an envelope full of campaign cash or can deliver a voting bloc in an election, they really don't want to hear from you. One more thing, if that was your grandchild.......y ou'd be ignored. You'd go to the Mayor? What make you think he'd talk with you? The Commie  (Sep 21, 2013 | post #6)

wnia radio station question

I grew up in the Harlem Genesee section near Queen of Martyrs Church. The best way I can describe it is that a wave of destruction started in the center of Buffalo and then slowly worked its way east. Back in the day, we would go for a fish fry at Benny's and then walked to the Bailey theater with my parents to catch a movie. I'm sure Buffalo will come back, but certainly not in my lifetime. A Message to CWA Members from the Secretary of Labor

Here's a thought....... if there wasn't a Department of Labor, would people stop working? If there wasn't a Department of Commerce, would all business activity cease? On this Labor Day, give some thought as to how the fruits of your labor are being confiscated and used. Have a good holiday folks. The Commie  (Aug 31, 2013 | post #1)

wnia radio station question

If you used to hang out the back window of WNIA, then we grew up in the same neighborhood. I drove through the old neighborhood last week, it's definitely not the same. The Commie  (Aug 30, 2013 | post #58)

Pinnacle Charter School Fighting State Shut Down

The people in New York are pathologically unable to change things or clean house. I arrived at that conclusion in November 2006 when voters reelected Alan Hevisi. The voters in this state reelected a guy that was on a one way ticket to prison rather than pull a lever for anything other than Democrat. They get what they deserve. The losers in this deal are the kids. The Commie  (Aug 26, 2013 | post #3)

On Martha's Vineyard, a stark look at income inequality

I guess it's like a lot of things in this world. What I think is great other people say "huh?". Carly Simon never did it for me. What can I say? The Commie  (Aug 18, 2013 | post #65)

On Martha's Vineyard, a stark look at income inequality

I was in South America and generally being busy. It sucks getting old and fat. Why is passport control always at least a half mile from the gate? What kind of carbuncles are we talking about? The bloody yellow-green pus type or the white solid firm type. Carbuncle aficionados are keen on those minor but significant differences. I'm giving some serious consideration to visiting Havana. In Carly Simon's defense, she is in her late 60s and a breast cancer survivor. Nobody is going to be good looking after a one-two punch like that. However, I never viewed her as seriously talented. Her dad is the Simon in the publishing company of Simon & Schuster. Had she not been a Simon, the world would never had heard of her. The Commie  (Aug 18, 2013 | post #35)

Juneteenth be a-commin

Life Coach, I was to Juneteenth once. It wasn't that bad, in fact it was pretty good. At the time I worked in a factory and there wasn't too many white boys on the midnight shift. I was there with my friends from work so I felt safe. I never got the sense I'd be screwed with because I'm a white boy. Likewise, I never got the sense I'd be screwed with because I was a gringo in South America. Then again........I just may be as dumb as a box of rocks with absolutely no regard for my personal well being and safety. However, I did get screwed with because I'm an American.
