Wind Turbines on Piers

And this is why so many chant the mantra "Drill baby drill." Between the politicians, the naysayers, and the backwoods gossipers, alternative energy will never really be taken seriously. Personally, I think that is a shame. I would like to set up some solar panels or windmills, or whatever other form of alt energy would be feasable in this area, but I know I won't get any worthwhile information from Topix.  (Feb 25, 2011 | post #20)

The bandage is coming off

The last mile or two of Hickory Fork road is in terrible shape. Less than a year ago, there was some sort of bandage repair done, basically just spreading tar and loose gravel. That temporary repair is falling apart and that section of road is quickly becoming worse than it was in the past. Does anyone know when, or even if, there are any plans for a permanent repair? They have repaved the same section of route 17 at least 3 times, that I can recall, in the past 5 years. Any chance they can do the same for Hickory Fork Road?  (Feb 20, 2011 | post #1)

Wow, a serious topic hijacked in only two posts. I guess we shouldn't wait on a real answer, huh?  (Feb 18, 2011 | post #5)

Should "spice" and other marijuana substitutes be outlawed?

I tried posting this same poll in the 23061 location, but it was hijacked by the bill/anti-bill crowd. Maybe we can have a real discussion over here in the 23072 location. Note to the bill/anti-bill crowd, please don't hijack this thread, I don't care one way or another what you think of some guy in GloCo.  (Nov 27, 2010 | post #1)

Finally a tenant for old Wal-Mart building in Gloucester ...

Everything is about Bill. No wonder his ego is so big. People just love to hate him, and he loves all the attention. Is there ever going to be any hope that topix will no longer be about bill?  (Nov 27, 2010 | post #9)

Seafood eatery opens second digs

I knew it. I do have a confession to make, I brought this old topic up under an assumed name. I am not bill, though. I find it hilarious that people salivate over him so much. From the threads, posts and hijackings, I gather that he is not a very nice person to be around. I wouldn't know, I don't live near him, nor do I care that much. I'm just killing a little time and laughing at all the people that obsess over this guy.  (Nov 27, 2010 | post #4)

Should "Spice" and other marijuana substitutes be outlawed?

Wow, on only the second post, this thread is already hijacked. Any chance for a serious discussion? Probably not.  (Nov 27, 2010 | post #4)

Should "Spice" and other marijuana substitutes be outlawed?

Spice and other marijuana substitutes are now available in GloCo. There is a lot of discussion now about outlawing it. What do the people of GloCo think? My personal opinion is that it should remain legal, however, its use should be regulated and stiffer penalties should apply if a person is caught driving under its influence. Also, employers should have the right to fire an employee that is caught using it while on the job.  (Nov 26, 2010 | post #1)

new gun shop in white marsh

Dr. D sucks as a neighbor, we get it. Stop hijacking threads to put him down. As for the gun shop, anyone know when it will open? Will it compete with the others in the area? Can't wait to check it out.  (Nov 26, 2010 | post #23)

Tired of beating a dead horse

I fully enjoy beating a dead horse as much as the next person, but it seems that every discussion in the GloCo forums turns to Dr. D. Can you guys give it a rest? It has gone beyond the point of being ridiculous. There are many other topics here in GloCo that are much more worthy of discussion. If you can't stop talking about him, at least keep it in the proper discussions and quit hijacking other topics.  (Nov 26, 2010 | post #1)

Odd Things in Gloucester County

All kidding aside, I didn't realize there was someone in the car while it was parked there. It is odd that Al's didn't know who it was and didn't seem to care. Had it been my business, I would have asked him who he was and given any info to the sheriffs office, including License plate and description. I have done this already on several other occasions when things didn't feel right in my shopping center. What's this about a plane crash? Any other info on it?  (Oct 7, 2009 | post #10)

Emotional testimony in trial of man accused of sex assaul...

I have pet rats, they make wonderful pets and I would never subject them to that. Plus, in reality, they would not chew on him, they would simply lick the peanut butter off, it make tickle, but certainly won't hurt. Now, what would be painful, and work would be to soak his wang in chicken broth and then tie him out in the woods and let the wild animals come along and chew it off. Or better yet, dip it in honey and tie him to the ground near an ant-hill. That would hurt. BTW, he was my 9th grade health teacher, I always thought it was wierd how he would hang out more with some students than others. I think personally he was sleeping with them willfully, and then took things too far with this victim when he refused his advances. Just a personal opinion and a personal observation. I am not making any accusations or judgements.  (Oct 3, 2009 | post #35)

Odd Things in Gloucester County

I travel down hickory fork every now and then and I did notice that car sitting there for several days. It is very odd for a car to sit at a repair shop for several days. I don't know for sure, but I think there may be a gateway to other universes in there and the owner was on a universe traveling vacation, and maybe he got lost in in an alternate universe. Or maybe, the car was being repaired and the special part needed took a few days to arrive. As far as the new construction at the point, I think it may be an alien landing strip, or just a new business coming into Gloucester. God knows why, Gloucester seems to be very difficult to run a business in.  (Oct 3, 2009 | post #2)
