Does it matter how we fulfill our spiritual need

Exactly. Not to get into a creationist vs. Darwinist debate, but the complexity of the natural world is one of the many reasons I believe in God. I can't conceive of so many "Coincidences " occurring over time to place our world just the exact distance from our sun to have definitive seasons and to create life on our planet, and possibly elsewhere, from relatively stable atoms and molecules. By the same token, I cannot accept the "timeline " of about 5000 or 6000 years as being the amount of time mankind and all life has been on this planet. I know that Genesis unequivocally states that God made the heavens and the earth along with all creation in 7 days, but I also know from reading Joshua, Daniel, and Revelation, that God can and does manipulate time. It seems extremely shortsighted to assign human days and time as binding on the Almighty. In other words, what God can create in His day, may take humankind millennia in Human time to even gain the knowledge to begin to replicate.  (Dec 28, 2009 | post #12)

Elijah saw the wheel

Done! I hate that he received the bad news at Christmas time. It's hard to be festive when you're busy fretting over the big "C". We'll gladly add him to our list!  (Dec 24, 2009 | post #40914)

Elijah saw the wheel

Columbia lost a Vietnam vet Friday. "Taz", long a fixture at local homeless hot spots and the VA Hospital passed away after battling Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma, other cancers, and COPD. My cousin took him under his wing, became his legal guardian, got him enrolled at the VA for health care, got him off the streets and settled in his own apartment, and managed his financial affairs for him. "Taz" does not have any immediate family in the Columbia area, except maybe his ex-wife and very few friends. Burial will be tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the National Cemetery at Fort Jackson. I will not be able to attend, but I wish to honor his memory by inviting all who can to come to the service for this lonely old soldier. Here is his obit from The State newspaper: http://www.legacy. com/obituaries/the state/obituary.asp x?n=carnell-bibbs &pid=137627153 Thank you for your time and consideration.  (Dec 22, 2009 | post #40859)

Now, that she's filed for divorce, what will Jenny Sanfor...

Who really cares what SC's Queen of Drama will do next? Well, as long as we are "stuck" with her and Mark waging their "War of the Roses" in public, we might as well have some fun at their expense. Frag on!!!!  (Dec 11, 2009 | post #1)

Impeachment debate in SC focuses on gov's tryst

Nobody is perfect. There are enough hypocrites in both parties that if they were stacked end to end, they'd cover Antarctica and still spill over onto the Falkland/Malvinis Islands. Stop the Hate. Educate, While our elected officials defecate. That's all they are good for, So why not vote them out the door? Because someone just as bad would take their place; Federal Government is just a big doomed rat race. Hey, maybe there'll be a revolution again, when all is said and done; Then you can be a new founding father as we start over from day one. But count me out of your bloody mess, For I am old and weary, and it's time for me to rest. And I have no desire to become an old martyr, In your quest for the more perfect charter. For that race was sadly lost, When morals and ethics we did toss, Like Obama and McCain's baggage under their bus, And somehow we all forgot to only believe "In God We Trust". And if chaos is the result of governmental evolution, Then you can keep your bloody peoples revolution! 'Cause our world will keep on turning, No matter how often Rome is burning. And if our dreams are truly diamonds and rust, Then perhaps mankind deserves to be left in the dust. Even a monkey can learn new tricks over time, But we constantly repeat the same thing, only on God's dime. Goodbye cold, evil world, I'm looking forward to a new place, Where I'll forever thrive, and with God's grace.  (Dec 10, 2009 | post #29)

I am not mad at the group. I made a very bad mistake in judgment. I apologized privately to most of the people involved, and I have moved on. Que sara sara. Whoever your post decorator and troll is, it is not me, nor is it anyone in my family. DeeGee has just posted some excellent advice for you all. FWIW, I respectfully encourage you all to listen to her. Happy Holidays to all!  (Dec 10, 2009 | post #40761)

No Impeachment For S.C. Gov, But Rebuke Sought

It's only a rap on the knuckles with a ruler for our dear gooberator. Of course if Sister Mary Ashley was the ones doing the rapping, I imagine a trip to the emergency room would be in order. Unfortunately, this is only a love pat from his dear colleges and friends, not a good old fashioned Catholic Whack on the knuckles with the metal edge of the ruler. And his "Rebuke" will sound something along the lines of: "Bad boy! Don't Do That Again! Sit! Stay!" Lather, Rinse, repeat, ad naseum. Nothing ever really changes, it's just a new generation of the same old BS artists that we've heard before.  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #2)

"Save for my bible version error, I still stand by post 32 above." "Save for my bible version error, I still stand by post number two 2 above." Here we go again! Toxic doesn't recognize the "#", or the mark for "Number" that's above the "3" on most English keyboards. As much trouble as I am having today, I think I'll go back to bed....  (Dec 9, 2009 | post #10)
