Trustees' private meeting not illegal, Gee says | The Col...

Trust and Honesty are two different traits. Business expects management to be trustworthy (dependable, predictable, controllable). Honesty is not a requirement in business. But if a business includes honesty as one of its core principles as part of its trustworthy practices, this is what separates a great business from a fly by night firm. It takes a true leader to be both honest and trustworthy - a rare combination. As customers of Ohio State University, we should decide if we want the leadership to be trustworthy or trustworthy and honest.  (Jun 23, 2011 | post #57)

Capitalism at its finest. Take a well run company, have it purchased by a loosing company and then the loosing company tries to sell of the crap they ran before....Wow...These investors must be really dumb...If I was an investor in Wendy's I would insist on cleaning house - without a golden severance package. Incompetence has been rewarded for the past four years.  (Jun 13, 2011 | post #39)

A disgraceful performance. We need to hire a mid level coach from the Bundesliga -a true German who can teach us the finesse that soccer is. Just as the OSU program - it starts at the top, and the coach must go. We all know it is a rebuilding year, but the rebuilding needs to start with the right foundation....  (Jun 13, 2011 | post #9)

Tressel out at OSU | BuckeyeXtra

Definition of University = : an institution of higher learning providing facilities for teaching and research and authorized to grant academic degrees As the largest university in the United States, we should uphold the sanctity of the granting of education for the 60,000 students who call The Ohio State University their stepping stone to adulthood. If on March 8th the leaders of the University stood behind Coach Tressel, and on May 30th they changed their minds about Coach Tressel, the delegation of authority and the moral code by which the University calibrates its staff and students is kaputt, and needs to be amended. One would hate to think that this graduating class would only be remembered by "The year Coach Tressel resigned".  (May 31, 2011 | post #482)

Taxpayer benefit?

It really comes down to the following fundamental principle - would you rather have a leader that is trustworthy (predictable, consistent, loyal) or one who is honest? It is easier to craft an image of trustworthiness rather than one of honesty. We as residents of Ohio need to decide which we want.  (Mar 6, 2011 | post #158)

Why was this teenager carrying a run at Easton?. I think we should have random weapons searches or you fence the entire complex and have all customers go through screening like at the Airport. Unbelieveable...  (Feb 14, 2011 | post #61)

Men's basketball: OSU Insider | BuckeyeXtra

I think the comments made by the coach of Wisconsin regarding the "spitting inquiry" needs to be reviewed by the NCAA. This comment deserves a "reprimand " - if we have to "deal with it". Maybe we should boycott playing Wisconsin or provide the students with spitting cups prior to basketball games at the Kohl Center...  (Feb 14, 2011 | post #39)

Columbus no longer planning for streetcars, light rail

I think we should implement lanes for horse and buggy carts. While we are discussing how to go backward, Canada and Michigan are joining together to build a second bridge between Canada and Michigan to accelerate the growth of trade between Michigan and Canada. Way to go Gov. Snyder!!!  (Feb 11, 2011 | post #137)

Kasich: You strike, you get punished

It's kinda ironic that on a day when the citizens of Egypt forced a step down of their dictator, our State Government is attempting to remove the right for its people to have collective bargaining. In a free society, we should have the right to collectively decide what is best for a group of people - the good of the majority should outweigh the good of one person. Freedom - so easy to talk, but difficult to practice and act upon.  (Feb 11, 2011 | post #852)

Pickerington school board will put 9.5-mill levy on May b...

We should have schools commonized under a single school district for the Columbus suburbs. Need to cut management of education and fund actual education of students. Raising taxes is never a good idea - it just prevents future residents to come to Pickerington - why not move to another area where taxes are Zero....Eliminate anything that does not educate a student....As of now our education produces students that are ill equipped to compete in the global marketplace, and are entering a non existent job market. maybe be cheaper to take the money, buy a farm, raise crops and live a good life.  (Jan 28, 2011 | post #81)

Why is every action linked to the ideology of a political party? What happened to serving all Americans? Should we should segregate babies at birth and send them to different camps based on their parent's ideologies? I think there was a dictator that did this once before, and did not quite work out very well. We need to work together as a nation to make the world a better place for our children, and their children. Gandhi liberated an entire country in a nonviolent way.  (Jan 22, 2011 | post #1)
