Thank you, Seagraves

We would like to thank everyone for making our show at Celebrate Seagraves a success tonight. Although we are far from famous the hospitality people gave us the rock star treatment, the arrangements were incredible, and of course the people were absolutely awesome. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us play, We hope to visit again in the future.  (Sep 23, 2012 | post #1)

Man, WV

3 accused of copper theft

I remember when I lived in Man a few years ago some guys drove a truck through the wall of the tobacco store on south side. Stole everything that wasn't nailed down. Shortly after that they burglarized a church and stole the sound equipment. At that time I had never heard of oxycontin. I overheard some people saying they were "gonna get a 50" and I asked what that was. They said a dollar a milligram. $50 for one pill? That's crazy but I guess to someone with the habit, it makes perfect sense. I also remember the kids who looked like zombies walking down the street past my apartment on First Street.  (Sep 11, 2012 | post #6)

Oh, and the original saying does not say anything about messing up your day. That was tossed in and splattered all over Facebook.  (Sep 10, 2012 | post #38)

Nope, sorry. Believe it or not it is an old saying, much older than Facebook. I would tell you to do some research, but wouldn't want to explain to you what that is. Believe it or don't, matters not to me. Just know that some of us have actually done more with our lives than sit behind an anonymous computer screen.  (Sep 10, 2012 | post #36)

Funny. Actually as far as I know I have never met either of these people, let alone have any sort of "meetings " with them. I currently have much bigger things happening than hanging around with the locals, not much time for that now. Please keep posting because your grammar and spelling amuse me. What is not amusing, however, is your version of "public record", which is pretty distorted, exposing your weak intellect. Spreading gossip that you overheard in the checkout line is hardly "public record." As an old man once told me years ago, while in the sandbox: "May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your crotch, and may your arms be too short to scratch."  (Sep 10, 2012 | post #32)

Too much caffeine maybe? And how exactly is this your business? Do you have a dog in this fight?  (Sep 10, 2012 | post #29)

Sometimes, no matter how much you love someone they go their own way. Years ago when I first came to Man I met a woman and I fell hard for her. We had a whirlwind relationship and it was great but she never did really commit. Not angry or bitter about it, but at the time I felt used and cheated. Just because somebody loves you does not mean you will always make the right decisions.  (Sep 10, 2012 | post #46)

Of course you don't care what impression people have of you because of your low standards. Personally I couldn't care less because I think some of these people are hillarious. However, you really should work on your communication skills. I assure you that people will not think any worse of you if you get a little "schoolin' up."  (Sep 9, 2012 | post #44)

Seriously, has anybody on this board looked at some of the idiots posting here? I am not talking about the content of the posts, just about the fact that very few people have a grasp on the English language. For future reference, "there" means the opposite of "here." "Puck" is something used in hockey. To "baller" ...seriously dude, you quit school way too early. Periods, commas, or hell, even the occasional exclamation point would be nice. When you have a sentence that is a whole paragraph long people are tempted to label you as mentally challenged. Go back to second grade.  (Sep 9, 2012 | post #21)

I wonder how some of these people make it through their petty little lives without ever using a bit of punctuation in their writings. Where the hell did y'all go to school, Man? Besides the fact that these same people evidently savor dragging others' names through the mud, either because of boredom or jealousy, they evidently did not finish third grade. Sad really, given the fact that most of these same people are reasonably sane except when they are using an anonymous message board.  (Sep 9, 2012 | post #40)

Romney 2012

I think about this every day. Do we go with the devil we know, or do we try a different devil? Either way we lose. Romney is about money. Obama is about money. Romney wants to help out the rich. Obama hates the oil and gas and mining industries that are so vital to this state. If he closes all the mines and stops drilling, do you really think he gives a rat's ass about the families affected? On that note, can you say with any certainty that Romney gives a rat's about them? We have to vote even if the electoral college makes our individual votes practically worthless. People have fought and died to protect that right and it's our duty to exercise it. With that said I, for one, have had enough of Obama's twisted view of the state of the Union. If he is re-elected he will have more opportunities to close mines, place moratoriums on drilling, and stop projects that would eventually enable us to tell OPEC to kiss our flag-wavin', gun-totin' asses. Romney is not any better, but at this point he does appear to be the lesser of the evils.  (Sep 7, 2012 | post #85)
