3D see-through computer revealed

A transparent computer that allows users to reach inside and touch digital content has been unveiled at the TED conference in Los Angeles. TED fellow Jinha Lee has been working on the SpaceTop 3D desktop in collaboration with Microsoft. Allowing people to interact with machines in the same way they do with solid objects could make computing much more intuitive, he told the BBC. He can see the system coming into general use within a decade. http://thebluesect ugh-computer-revea led  (Feb 28, 2013 | post #1)

Vatican considers early pope vote

The Vatican is studying calls from cardinals to hold a papal conclave earlier than planned, after Pope Benedict XVI steps down on 28 February. Under current rules, the election can be held on 15 March at the earliest, to allow cardinals enough time to travel to Rome. Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi said officials were examining if a rule change was possible. Benedict XVI, 85, announced his shock resignation last Monday. They did not wait long to start the search. http://thebluesect siders-early-pope- vote  (Feb 16, 2013 | post #1)

Facebook targeted by hackers

Facebook has revealed it was the target of a “sophisticated attack” by hackers last month, but found no evidence any user data had been compromised. The US-based social network said that the attack occurred when employees visited a mobile developer website “that was compromised”. Facebook said in a blog post that it was not the only company to have been attacked in this way. http://thebluesect rgeted-by-hackers  (Feb 15, 2013 | post #1)
