Something tells me that you have trouble reading. If you do, go to biblegateway dot com and they will read the bible to you. If you buy a Hebrew slave, he is to serve for only six years. Set him free in the seventh year, and he will owe you nothing for his freedom. If he was single when he became your slave and then married afterward, only he will go free in the seventh year. But if he was married before he became a slave, then his wife will be freed with him. If his master gave him a wife while he was a slave, and they had sons or daughters, then the man will be free in the seventh year, but his wife and children will still belong to his master. But the slave may plainly declare, 'I love my master, my wife, and my children. I would rather not go free.' If he does this, his master must present him before God. If your view of slavery came from the bible, then you would not have a problem with owning slaves. You would not have a problem killing everyone in Pittsburgh. They house non-believers and you know how your god feels about that! My view that slavery is wrong is derived from empathy. I can understand how a slave would feel and I would not want to feel that way. I can understand what it is like to be lied to, so I try my best not to lie. I would not want my daughter to be raped and then force her to marry her rapist, so I don't rape. Are you beginning to understand how this works?  (Friday May 31 | post #166361)

So, Psalm is to be taken literal now? I get so confused, with christians constantly changing which verse is to be taken literal and which is to be taken figuratively. I was sure that Psalm was not to be taken literalThe problem is, your god, or the writers of the bible, used day, an exclusively human termTime is a completely human term. Why would a god use the term in a way that man would not understandWhere did you get that bit of information? That's not in the bibleThat's funny! So your god made man and put Satan in with him? Then when man failed, god killed them all, save 8, so that man could start again. If the bible is true, god knew that we were going to fail again. After he wins the big battle against evil, he is going to lock Satan away for a 1,000 years, then let him out and run the same test all over again?!?!? That's insane! From your viewpoint, no the bible doesn't, it is your god that does. From my viewpoint, it is the man who wrote the bible who were saying those things. And of course you know the verses that tell the believers to kill everything in the village if even one person is not a believer. What were the six days of creation? Were they Earth days? Were they god's days? Does god even have days? What does he base his days on? When god said that he rested for a day, how long did he really rest? Is that why Eve ate the forbidden fruit, cause god was resting for millions of Earth years? When god called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night, how long was that day? Your god must flip back and forth between an Earth day and a god day quite often.
