I think Jack has stolen Lew's name, it's become very confusing around here lately. (Yesterday | post #25)

If he goes to West Georgia, make sure he starts and finishes there. I transferred from another college and they refused to take any of my education credits. I was forced to start over from their version of "Education 101," when I was about 2 classes from beginning upper class Ed. work at the other school. I did like many of the History professors while I was there, but they are not the best at advisement. My very first trip to campus was for advisement, and all they did was hand me a sheet with all the required courses and say "Here's what you need, go register." As far as the classwork and the professors UWG is a pretty good place, but the administration aspect is lacking. (Saturday Dec 12 | post #747)
Job losses have gone down because all the major cuts were made back in September, October, and previously. There are now less people to lay off, therefore there are less jobs to lose. Long road ahead, made tougher by ridiculous big government legislation. (Friday Dec 11 | post #9)
Bullets found in Yeager Middle School
If they found them in the hallway, as opposed to a student's locker or on an actual student, what can they do exactly? That is most likely sufficient cause to search lockers and attempt to find a weapon, but if no weapon is found then all they can do is turn the ammunition over to the police. Its a bad situation no doubt, but with no suspects and no weapon, hard to do anything past a search of lockers. (Friday Dec 11 | post #2)
There is plenty of evidence to dismantle the global warming/climate change argument. First of all, the biggest "culprit " of GM/CC is Carbon Dioxide....The same carbon dioxide that humans breathe out and plants take in to produce oxygen, which is required for humans and animals to survive. Secondly, global temperatures have been declining since 1998 and are forecast to remain steady for the next decade. This piece of information came out of the mouth of one of the leaders of climate change "science. " Global warming is also obviously not responsible for the extinction of the polar bear, since their population has increased over 500%. Sorry Al Gore. The e-mails that were published recently show that these "scientists " were willing to do anything to hide the fact that their science is a fraud. The e-mails prove that data was manipulated to reach a pre-ordained conclusion. They also show that the so called "hockey stick" theory, which most of global warming/climate change "science " is based upon, is also a fraud. These emails did so much damage that the EPA had to come to more false scientific conclusions in order for the liberal politicians to maintain control over the political capital that this fraud of a science gives them. Outside of all the other evidence, let's take a look at another scenario for explaining this whole bunch of garbage. Science has inidcated that the Earth has gone through several ice ages. So, since there were not humans around for many of these ice ages, how did the ice form and then melt? The Earth had to cool dramatically for the ice to form, and it had to warm dramatically, without human aid I might add, for the ice to melt. So the Earth apparently can easily warm and cool naturally without any help from humans, so there is no real evidence to support the fact that global warming/climate change is man-caused. If our government would mind its own business..." So we're just supposed to ignore the fact that 9/11 was planned in Afghanistan, that the Taliban allowed Al-Qaeda to run free in that country and carry out terrorist attacks. I'm sorry you lost a loved one in Vietnam, and you are right, Vietnam veterans have been treated horribly by not only our government, but by some of our own citizens in the name of protest. Burying our head in the sand and pretending bad things don't happen is not the answer. (Sunday Dec 6 | post #6)

A war that can't be won? Are you serious? If the U.S. would fight this war like war is supposed to be fought, back when the people who ran our country had guts, this war would already be over. Wars aren't won by sending "just enough" troops to do the job; they are won by overwhelming the enemy and inflicting as much damage as necessary to make the other side quit. Instead, we now tell our enemies exactly how many troops we're sening to battle, and then telling them when we're going to leave. The United States has the best fighting force in the world, when used properly it is unbeatable. Time we started using it properly. It is extremely disrespectful to our armed forces to say that they are "dying for nothing." (Sunday Dec 6 | post #3)
Why does Topix block certain posts????
I wish they would do more editing when it comes to starting new threads. Its hard to continue good discussions when they continually get rehashed in 7 different threads. Limit the amount of threads about a single topic and let people discuss it. As far as deleting posts, the people who built or run this site should set up some guidelines as to what is and is not acceptable in a post. If those guidelines are broken then it should be deleted, it shouldn't be let up to some random moderator who can pick and choose who to censor at their leisure. (Tuesday Dec 1 | post #8)
From what I can gather I don't believe his time at Brighten is paid. I don't know that for certain one way or the other though. (Saturday Nov 28 | post #20)
I find it funny that all the names of business people who are being "reviewed " on topix have some connection to Brighten. Whether they are parents of students or associated professionally with Brighten, their names are put up here and their business practices called into question. It might be just a huge coincidence, but the more names that pop up on these threads it becomes less likely that its not happenstance. (Friday Nov 27 | post #17)
No such thing as reverse racism. Racism is racism no matter who is the recepient of the discrimination. That said, Oprah hasn't done anything overtly racist. She supported her choice for president and it did help him get the nomination and the election. No one but she knows the true reasons she supported him, although it is obvious which way your opinion sways. Accusations of racism should be reserved for situations where it is truly warranted, not thrown out everytime somebody says or does something other people don't like. (Friday Nov 20 | post #19)
I don't know that she's a racist, but she definitely influenced a large majority of people in Barack Obama's favor, especially in the primary elections. (Friday Nov 20 | post #17)
