Wishing the best for you all...

Hi to you all, just checking in to see how things have been going, since my leaving months ago. Very disappointing to still see so many of you suffering at the hands of this greedy company. It just does not appear that things are going to change enough, to make things better for anyone. I do not shop Wag, anymore, and I have not missed it one bit since leaving. Try and get through the holidays, best that you can, then come first of the year try to run like hell somewhere else !  (Dec 6, 2014 | post #1)

Walgreens Magazine

I don't work there anymore, but it is my understanding from past co workers, they are just doing movement of the registers . Far as I know, that does not require letting anyone go. But keep posted on here, someone who knows more will post something when they know.  (Dec 6, 2014 | post #2)

Christmas hours

Hi to enjoying not having to deal with this anymore. Not that i liked it,but our boss always split the day- so like some would work five hours, then next batch of people would work the next five- something along those lines, depending on the opening and closing of the store, Still that was stupid to, as we never really had any customers .  (Sep 24, 2014 | post #23)

Miquelon Out

With one retiring and another one stepping down- already..I figure it's safe to say Wag will be moving overseas. Am curious if there will be others to go before the move. Personally, I think "the medicine man" plans on taking over, after a period of time.Wonder how that would work hum, could be.  (Aug 4, 2014 | post #9)

Why & How I left Walgreens

Congratulations! You just did yourself a big favor.  (Jul 24, 2014 | post #10)

Just a customer now...

I must say it sure is nice to be on the other side of a register now days, Here is what I am finding, just as customer now. Pharmacy sucks big time- BUT- it is not their fault. Very short handed at most stores. Takes forever just to get someone to answer the phone. And when you call in a Rx and the tech says" you want to fill this'? Um, yep, that is why I called to fill this rx. Oh well, perhaps a slip of the tongue there. As usual. when entering the store- you see no one.Still do not think this is good. Store looked clean, did not stay long enough to examine things-but morale is still down. BTW, it took long time just for someone to answer the phone on front end-must have had a lot of candy to deal with. I can tell you this tho- I do not miss any of it! I do still read the Topix, not to gloat, but just to see what kind of crap you guys have to put up with now. It is still sad.  (Jun 18, 2014 | post #1)

store privacy policy

In my opinion, after having run registers and checking out people.. I am so full of secrets I could bust. Especially when employees buy something. Customers and employees. Plan "B' for instance, HIV tests. etc. etc. to repeat what an employee buys, only produces gossip and rumors, and extra hardship for them. For customers, it would be a breach of their privacy also and make you look really bad. So NO, they should not ask you anything..and that would piss me off big time. I would report that myself.  (May 13, 2014 | post #15)

Texas Outlaw

Bottom Line: Walgreens may or may not decide to move its headquarters abroad. Regardless, expect some drastic change to the long-time family run company. Totally you ?  (May 12, 2014 | post #1)

Diane Hartman and the Annual Shareholders Meeting

I see many stores going to hell in a hand basket. Case and point - even before I left I noticed how the store was looking- not faced good-if at all. Things over crammed because they keep getting so much of the same thing. Customers who politely informed me"your pharmacy sucks" ! Less and less five minute meetings- no time. Etc. etc...... You can say what you will, but as more and more of us "older and long time people " leave, you will see a difference. They hired two PT young ones to fill my place. They better hire a few more, as two others are about to leave. Several years ago, there was a guy in photo, about 30 -I was 20 plus years him at the time. It was truck day. I was slinging totes to and fro, putting things up, when the guy in photo got called to the office. He had been resting his carcass on the counter and being watched. The manager at the time rang him out to dry with "man you see that woman out there, that is what your suppose to be doing. She is 20 yrs.or more your age! Now you get your ass out there and see if you can keep up with her!" .. This was told to me from another employee who happened to be in the office at the time. Made me feel good ! So, let's just see how the younger generation is going to handle things- of course it will take two of them :)  (Apr 30, 2014 | post #201)

Finally an article that wagner should read and take to he...

Oh my goodness, literally chocked on my cereal while reading this, when I read the CEO's response! I have always believed just can not make some people happy. I have even had customers remind me that " the customer is always right" my response is "so how's that working for you today ?" . Selfridge was an excellent business man-in his own time, but people are much different now than then. So like all things that must evolve in our world customer service technique must also change. This was was last week at Wag. Someone asked me if i was "sad" to leave after all these years.I thought baout that for about 3 seconds..smiled and said "Nope!"  (Apr 26, 2014 | post #6)
