Fatal shooting of ex-basketball player linked to argument...

What a senseless death. Not meaning to be disrespectful, but I thought this is a perfect example of why you shouldn't meet up with your ex-girlfriend (even in a group) with your current one.  (Jul 27, 2011 | post #24)

Day-care operators' dad indicted on rape charge | The Col...

OMG you are so clueless. This issues is NOT about race. It is about where and with whom children spend their time. More than 90% of victims of child sexual abuse know the perpetrator (and a large majority of this number are people related to the child or a boyfriend of a mother). This is what happened in these cases - he is the father of the daycare owner(s), so he visits and gets to know the kids. http://www.d2l.org /site/c.4dICIJOkGc ISE/b.6035035/k.82 58/Prevent_Child_S exual_Abuse.htm  (Jul 27, 2011 | post #50)

High to hit 95 degrees today | The Columbus Dispatch

Drink water, drink water, drink water. If you don't have A/C, open windows and try to a fan in the window. You'll be hotter if you close your windows and stay inside. Or, go somewhere with A/C (or the pool). But, most of all, drink water, drink water, drink water. BTW: don't laugh at us in Texas when everything shuts down for snow/ice and we won't laugh at you when it is less than 100 degrees and people are panicking.  (Jul 20, 2011 | post #19)

Ohio man steals 60 tons of steel; gets eight years | The ...

8 years for stealing approx $15K in steel (according to estimates on this thread)...but someone meets a 15 year old girl for the purpose of having sex and also has child pornography and they get just under 4 years (an article from earlier today)? There is something wrong with our judicial system.  (Jul 19, 2011 | post #19)

Hmm... I was under the impression that Americans started welfare and social security and Americans that pass laws and authorize the budgets of our country and states. Interesting to know that foreigners are running our country now.  (Jul 19, 2011 | post #77)

So, no baths either? Small children can drown in as little as two inches of water. Their heads are large in proportion to their bodies, so it is easy for them to fall over into any type of water and hard for them to get up. That is why you hear of children drowning in mop buckets, toilets, etc. BTW - are you planning to parent your child or just let her decide when she needs things? Children won't "realize " they need swimming lessons on their own.  (Jul 19, 2011 | post #29)

New budget erases ban on managed care for disabled childr...

I agree we will have to wait and see. Regarding your assumption, remember what they say about what happens when you assume... In my opinion, the experts are the families of these children. I doubt they want to have to take medically fragile kids to two doctors instead of just one.  (Jul 19, 2011 | post #11)

Tressel had history of compliance problems, records show ...

If OSU knew about all of these alleged problems while Tressel was here, I would have to say the NCAA might be able to find the University for lack of institutional control since they knew things were bad and did nothing. Another "win" for the compliance dept.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #100)

I doubt they know the answer to these questions now since the rules still have to be written. But all are good points.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #8)

True enough. But the type of care many of these children need cannot be met by emergency care alone (and some needs cannot be met by emergency care at all). Plus, emergency care is so much more expensive. If the plan is to just let them go use emergency care, they should've just left the fee for service structure in place because that would be cheaper.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #7)

What an ignorant post. Don't you realize that your ancestors were once the "breeding foreigners" you are talking about? Unless you are a Native American, you are related to people who were "foreigners. "  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #38)

I do not understand the title of the article. Are most shooting victims unemployed or something? It's not like he was shot where he worked.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #36)

This is very sad, but a wake-up call to everyone who has children. You can't take your eyes off of them for a moment around water.  (Jul 15, 2011 | post #13)

New budget erases ban on managed care for disabled childr...

They will still be eligible for Medicaid, but instead of being able to go to whatever doctor they need to when they need it, their care will be managed like people who have an HMO. So, they will have to get referrals, etc., from their primary care physicians to go to other doctors. I don't know if this will be good or not. Many disabled children need a myriad of services and need them NOW, so having to wait for a PCP to sign off on something may not be the best thing. But, I do think it could save money - if waiting for the referrals don't cause conditions to worsen (which would end up costing more in certain cases). In such situations, I could see lawsuits coming.  (Jul 14, 2011 | post #2)
