Senate Confirms Sotomayor 68 to 31

In Texas, the Honorable Senator Hutchinson, who will be running for Governor better start figuring out how she is going to explain her no vote for Judge Sotomayor in a State where Hispanics are yearly inching to 20% of the population and in the large cities like Houston, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio are already 50% of the population. She will have a lot of sucking up to do....  (Aug 14, 2009 | post #45)

Senate confirmsSonia Sotomayor

As I knew it would happen now for once Hispanics in the U.S. are starting to have representation in all areas of government. Congratulations to Judge Sotomayor...she is indeed a WISE LATINA. Shame to the Republican Senators that did not vote for her because she was nominated by President Obama. The reality is that the largest states in the U.S., those with the highest numbers of electoral votes are also the same states where Hispanics are growing the fastest and where their political power is starting to make change. For those Republicans in those states, like Texas and Arizona...you better watch out, your days in the Senate are numbered. It is just so great to be a U.S. Citizen and VOTE.  (Aug 6, 2009 | post #20)

Illegal immigration costs us all dearly

All of which will grow to be productive U.S. citizens and help the cause to be able to get more representation and more attention from the politicians. As we grow in numbers and political clout, we will be heard and not ignored  (Aug 6, 2009 | post #46)

Senate Confirms Sotomayor 68 to 31

Par for the course, sore losers...She will be a GREAT Supreme Court Justice...its about time that with more than 15% of the TOTAL U.S. population, Hispanics have representation in the highest court. Oh this is indeed a great country inspite of some of you.  (Aug 6, 2009 | post #7)

Police say feds should enforce immigration laws

It is fact that Texas is a majority minority State along with Arizona, meaning that Hispanics, Asian and African Americans are in higher number than whites in Texas  (Jul 30, 2009 | post #31)

Invasion by birth canal?

Very nice to see the high level of discourse on this string from both sides. No need to take it to such low levels. The truth of the matter is that all babies born here are U.S. Citizens and no one but the Congress can change that and with Democrats in the majority that is NOT going to happen anytime soon. Keep on breeding so we can continue the path to build the great majority in the Good Ole USA. Patience, that is all we need. It is working...the Republicans are starting to pay notice that they cant push Latinos in the USA around anymore. They will have to start paying attention or else...stay the minority party for 50 years.  (Jul 17, 2009 | post #14)

DHS Napolitano weakens 287g program... Sheriff Joe Arpaio defiant

I am not from another country..I am from this country the US of A. I am Latino and proud and will never forget that and to the point that I can do anything to equal the playing field, I will do so.  (Jul 17, 2009 | post #8)

GOP aims to paint Sotomayor as biased

Well the hearings are over...and it looks like the Wise Latina is headed for an easy confirmation to the U.S. Supreme Court. Damn shame that the Republicans spent so much time on this comment and not in her actual cases, where they will find a quite different judge that the one they think she is. And so much discussion about abortion, damn she is a Catholic..duh... In any case, inspite of the Republicans she will be confirmed I am sure.  (Jul 17, 2009 | post #244)

DHS Napolitano weakens 287g program... Sheriff Joe Arpaio defiant

She is ending this program because all the nut jobs like Arpaio are not managing the program as intended and instead using it for mass violation of U.S. Citizens rights who happen to be Latino. Enough is enough.  (Jul 15, 2009 | post #1)

GOP aims to paint Sotomayor as biased

Well..seems like smooth sailings to confirmation....Ha ve not seen the Republicans do diddly so far as I knew they would not. All of them going out of their way to make sure they are not critizicing the person but just her rules...why? because they know they need the Latino vote...very smart of them I say... So...hopefully she will be sworn in before October.  (Jul 14, 2009 | post #75)

California is closer to ending illegal "Anchor Baby" births

Duh...mmm when did the States started granting or denying U.S. Citizenship to anyone...last time I checked the States have NO jurisdiction on U.S. Citizenship, that belongs to the Congress and until the Congress changes the law, California, Arizona, Oklahoma or any other state for that matter cannot determined who is a U.S. Citizen and who is not....ok...go find some other worthless intiative to get your happy off...  (Jul 10, 2009 | post #508)

RED ALERT -- La Raza: "If the American people found out..."

Not sure what is all the fuzz on this. Statistically, Hispanics have the fastest growing numbers of Citizens in the USA. Obviously most of them today are children, children that are U.S. Citizens because they were born here. So, that being the facts, the health care reform is going to help other U.S. Citizens who have no health care. I think that is a good thing and surely just as well received by white U.S. Citizens in the most desperate region of our country, like the Appalachian Mountains... But then you guys just twist everything to make your point about illegals...it is getting so old.  (Jul 10, 2009 | post #1810)
