KTP Kokomo

My condolences to his friends and family. What an incredible tragedy. re: "he was told to tie off or use a lift".... was he specifically told at that time to do that or is it just the designated safety rule for that job?  (Jan 4, 2011 | post #15)

whats wrong this picture

silly people.... $14 is a good wage. as new workers, you dont go out and commit yourself to five years of car payments when you arent sure of how long the job will be there. If you have an $8 an hour job, youre going to have to drive something that runs if you want to keep your job. For all us, try to support US companies. Do you think any country is concerned with buying from US? no. lets take care of each other.  (Nov 18, 2010 | post #5)

OUT with the UNOIN

Ya, lets oust the unions and work for $8 an hour like the rest of the guys. and lets all buy only foreign made products.... that should really help out the US economy wont it? <sarcastic>  (Nov 14, 2010 | post #17)

The new contract-

Also: Chrysler Guy: dont you get salary PLUS like all UAW shops do? Salary is your 40 hours, and the PLUS is your OT. And what in the WORLD are you doing there for 16 hours? If you're there for 16 hours, you are definitely being paid for 12. I mean no disrespcet, but I have NEVER seen anyone in management work beyong 12 hours. It's a safety hazard. Cant you use Team Leaders to do some of your work? I thought they were there to help production and management. Did you take a management job in order to save you from losing your job in the buyouts?  (Nov 11, 2010 | post #70)

The new contract-

good to know you buy chryslers : ) we have four ourselves and I would buy nothing other than a Chrysler product. Buy what we Build. please dont call me "honey", I'm probably 20 yrs. older than you, honey.  (Nov 9, 2010 | post #68)

The new contract-

Re: "management is being brutalized right now and for the last year with no end in sight. we are putting in 10 to 16 hour days, getting paid for 8, no OT during the week..." I imagine you are being overworked in this last almost two years...BUT, that was not previously the case. And if you were Union, you KNOW that. I hope you can find a way to get back in the union, but, I cant think how. ? I think unions are great, would never want to work without one, and we should all be grateful we have jobs at this point. Things are probably going to get worse : (  (Nov 7, 2010 | post #55)

The new contract-

I mean no disrespect, but if you're making $14. an hour, you have to drive some VEHICLE, and if you can afford one, you can afford a Chrysler brand. To me it's like cutting your own arm off to drive anything other than a Chrysler product...even if you have to buy used. And no, management works even less than we do. I've never understood WHY they pay management so much just to say "yes, sir" and "how high should I jump"? sold their souls.  (Nov 6, 2010 | post #44)

The new contract-

I understood with the contract that we signed, we agreed NOT TO STRIKE. I thought it was part of the bailout bundle and agreement in order to keep the company going? I hope I'm wrong .  (Nov 5, 2010 | post #39)

This is going to happen at chrysler anytime!

If you were able to send yourself and your kids to college with little or no debt, then you made sure you earned just less enough money to be eligible for loans/ grants/ scholarships or you're a single mother, african american, or other minority. No one at Chrysler can get any type of assistance with college tuition. So, $15000 or more every year comes out of the pocket if one wants to make sure their kids get a college education. Take out another $15000 for taxes. Toss in middle income type house, a reliable car payment, yard sale clothes and home accessories, and... there aint a whole hulluva lot left.( gawd forbid, like my family, we had two kids in college for 3 yrs. at the same time) And MOST of the people that turn them screws and flip a switch have a college education. Oh, and lets not forget the 110+ temps for about 4-5 months a year. When you really think about it, there arent a whole lotta jobs UNLIKE labor jobs. There is a set chore, you do the chore, you get paid. UAW forever. : )  (Oct 19, 2010 | post #106)

Ravenna man killed on Route 59

Put this KILLER in prison and be done with it. You can take your time with her behind bars figuring out whether it is manslaughter, murder, or what not. She killed the Guy. No excuses, no stories, no nothing. Put her in jail. Whats the hold up?  (Mar 14, 2009 | post #4)

Coal near Cuyahoga causes EPA concerns Kent train wreck c...

I dont know what in the hell took them so long on that little train derailment. I have never seen anyone work so damn slow. Not only did they drag out the cleanup, they appear to have put more pot holes in the bridge to make sure we all PASS any kind of bridge building real fast. Word up, Kent and City Council: we aint have no money. Fix the damn holes and we will make do.  (Mar 14, 2009 | post #2)

Body identified as missing Kent man

That was a very sad story. I dont recall reading a joke in the paper from the cops concerning the missing guy. The paper did say the young man suffered from some depression/ mental disorder and had meds for it. People did keep their eyes open in Kent. But in all cases, big and small, family and friends need to do most of the searching. No offense to anyone here, but COPS ARE NOT SUPERHEROES. Just people. I think the Kent cops followed protocal here. I doubt they would stop everything and search for my son and I wouldn't expect them to. I like the Kent cops, even when the arrested my own son.  (Dec 14, 2008 | post #12)

KSU union calls hiring unfair

I think new blood in Kent is just what we need. I've lived here all my life... it's boring. I'm surprised they could even get an international superstar like this guy. Kent is bars, cars, tattoo salons... Not much going on. My kids go to KSU. It's a boring college, boring professors, easy classes ... and I forgot: the professors all complain to the kids about their jobs. My one son has to help keep his professor on task... his mind... it wanders. welcome to Kent, whats-yer-name : )  (Dec 14, 2008 | post #51)
