My daughter went to Sand Springs for a few years. These kids really are close to each other. My heart goes out to the families and the kids that this impacts. My daughter is 17 but she may have known these girls. She won't tell me because she is afraid to look at the yearbook to see the names and faces. Whether you attend the school or not, lives lost so young have an impact. (Oct 25, 2010 | post #47)
This is a parents worst nightmare. My thoughts go out to the families. (Oct 25, 2010 | post #55)
Lets not forget that this is based on usage. The only definate charge is taxes and a customer charge of 14.95. If you don't want to pay more than that, shut your breakers OFF. This way no service is coming into your home at all. USAGE means you pay for what YOU use. This means if you aren't getting power, you aren't paying anything but your base fee. Don't wanna pay it, turn it off. Don't wanna pay high gas prices, walk. Don't want running water, turn it off. This is just life folks. We still pay lower prices than most states. I guess it could go back to the way it was when electricity first started being a household commodity. The service was turned off at 5PM and resumed the next day at 7AM. No one had service over night. I guess that would save some energy. LoL! I love how some people think electricity is a right and not a privilege. If you want it, you have to pay for it. If you donít pay for it, you donít get it. Simple. Gas is the same way. Water, the same way. Things go up with time it is just a way of life. We pay dearly for conveniences. (Oct 21, 2010 | post #38)
You can play the bleeding heart thing all you want. I don't buy the poor me **** that most of these people spin. I was a single mom most of the time my kids were growing up and had to WORK to make ends meet. I didn't sit around on my **** for years sucking off the teat some of these losers seem to want to feed from. Look, I understand some people need it. By all means if you are working, you just can't make it but you are trying sure, get assistance. (They will tell you to quit your job and pop out a few more kids so you don't have to work but hey...) Look around. Most of these people are perfectly fine, they can get up and work. They just don't want to and not only do they not want to, they teach their kids to do the same freakin thing. LAZY is the reason most of these are on food stamps. The people who really try deserve it. That's not how it ends up IS IT? The people that REALLY need it fall through the cracks. Do you fools realize how many people stand in line seriously needing help only to be denied while someone wearing 200 dollar blue jeans and 300 dollar sneakers walks away with hundreds in assistance? Get Real and wake up! Same breed of folks putting back bags of diapers to buy booze. You have to be out of your head to think that most people aren't taking advantage of this program and others out there. I talk to them EVERY single day. So yeah,go ahead and feel sorry for people who want to live off your taxes and the government cheese. Let me bottom line it for some of the idiots: If you work and you do your best to get OFF food stamps and assistance, more power to ya. If you are a lazy slob using the system to sponge then you don't deserve a dime and you never will and I will never believe otherwise. (Oct 19, 2010 | post #155)
I am not racist person but I do deal in FACT. There is a specific demmographic lining up FIRST for all the freebies they can get. These are the ones who know what day each program starts and rush to get there first. The same ones who are rude to the people helping them. The same ones who pop out more kids to stay on certain programs. Yeah... it's a specific demographic and it isn't the illegals. Can YOU figure it out? (Oct 19, 2010 | post #149)
The bottom line here is that there is a difference between a hand up and a hand out. The big issue is that the people that don't make enough to make it but make too much to get help are the ones falling through the cracks. The entire system needs to be reformed. (Oct 18, 2010 | post #109)
East Tulsa is as bad as the Northside. Maybe even worse these days. Sad. I remember when it was a decent part of town. (Oct 18, 2010 | post #12)
A lot of the people on food stamps are taking advantage of the program by not trying to help themselves. They hand out too much. Some of these folks need to get off the couch, get a job and stop popping out babies every year. There are folks out there who need it but the "crisis" would end if they reform some of this crap. Yeah.. lets see a show of hands on who thinks HE did it? Again, why can't people just break up these days!? (Oct 14, 2010 | post #48)
This is an awesome way to teach kids about history. I've been involved in a historical society that educates kids about the middle ages. The kids really get in to it and learn so much. Kudos to all involved in this! (Oct 14, 2010 | post #1)
That is awesome! Happy Birthday to you Mrs Dailey! (Oct 14, 2010 | post #12)
My daughters teacher told her that Norad technicians had made contact with aliens and that it was the reason for the earthquake. I seriously hope she was saying it jokingly. LOL You never know with some people! (Oct 14, 2010 | post #19)
Don't know how I missed it. The guy sitting next to me said he felt it and I didn't. lol Darn I missed out! (Oct 13, 2010 | post #187)
"Union said it has no right to sue the legislature, so the fastest way to get the courts involved is to ignore House Bill 3393 and wait to get sued." Wow, great example for our kids. Just ignore the law and wait to see what happens. This kind of mentality is why kids have no common sense, no sense of responsibility and just a general lack of concern for laws and consequence. If you disagree with a law, take steps to change it. Don't just ignore it. My god, and these people are in charge of teaching the generations that will eventually TRY to lead our country?
