Anyone else started using V GO disposible insulin deliver...

I was using the Omnipod insulin pump, buying it on my own as I could because BC/BS said I did not need it (BS in the 300-400 range and I did not need it, right, not medically necessary). Anyway, way too expensive for me on my own. I found out about these V-GO and started using them. Same idea, fill with insulin, attach, change every 24 hours, bolus up to 36 units. They work for me. Cost is about a dollar a day for most people with insurance (plus insulin). I get mine for a $9 copay b/c they are covered like a syringe, not DME. Not electronic, but totally mechanical. Been using them for three weeks and they do work (for me). They come as 20, 30, and 40 (units per 24 hour period). With the omnipod I was using 2.35 units per hour plus bolus, with these I am making it on 1.7 units hour. You can bolus up to 36 units in 2 unit increments for 24 hours. Have not heard much about these, they have a web site, Google VGO. I do not waste as much insulin on this new system as I did before.  (Jul 29, 2013 | post #1)
