Pope says gay marriage threat to creation

Honestly... It's annoying to read most of you judge and insult the Pope with mistaken information or even just so you could belittle him (for you, God-lovers, is that actually what God wants you to do even if you do not like the Pope, who is also somebody to be forgiven according to your principles?) I am not going to express my opinion on the Pope and on the issue at the hand, however I must clarify on one common misconception most of the posters here seem to have and please to make your "judgements " with a certain fact corrected. The Catholic church does not scold nor turn away homosexuals. If one admits to be gay, the Church officially accepts it (cannot say for laymen or some priests with discriminatory minds). BUT there are a couple differences on how their lifestyle may follow from those of heterosexuals. In other words homophobia, saying gays are no better, that they are sinning for being gay are NOT part of the Catholic Church's stand. I'll just give a couple sites and you do the rest of research if you wish because I didn't go deep. http://www.dignity usa.org/ http://www.nacdlgm .org/ That's all, good day.  (Jan 14, 2010 | post #237)

Do you go to movies or wait for DVD?

With the price for the movies a bit high, what do you do? Do you go to see all the movies you are interested in at the theater or wait for the DVDs to to be available for renting?  (Jan 14, 2010 | post #1)

How well do Miami Hispanics know Spanish?

Do not forget that Hispanics in Miami have different lifestyles, especially according to their economic status. Spanish tend to be more standardized the higher in figures a Hispanic is in... But I've seen some Hispanics with high figures but nasty Spanish, and when I asked around they came from poor families in Latin America but struck gold in United States.  (Jan 2, 2010 | post #4)

White Cubans are the most racist people on earth!

So are the languages used by France, Spain, Portugal, Italy... Yet they are not latinos. Latin has influence on how the Central and South Americans have been called, yes you are correct... However that's as far as it goes. The context of referring a person as "Latino" , in present time, means one from Central or South America, geographically wise, regardless of language. However BECAUSE Cubans are Spanish-speakers, we share the term "Hispanic ".  (Aug 27, 2009 | post #2770)

Bestiality: The Next Wave in Sexual Freedom?

Actually... There are way way more straight people than gay people... Statistically, there would be more straight animal lovers of course. Also over 50% that like or do bestiality are hidden so we don't know for sure about the statistics.  (Aug 27, 2009 | post #501)

Um, I'm not going to say anything about your post except one thing. I do not understand why you call yourself a latina? Cubans are islanders, not from Latin America... In other words, you're a Carribean. Of course, you're hispanic but not a latina. There is difference in the terms of latino and hispanic, because hispanic hails from any Spanish-speaking country, whilst latino hails from mainland Central and South America, which includes Brazil even if they do not speak Spanish  (Apr 25, 2009 | post #2205)

Anthropology

Anthropology, an old lesson.

Well, seems like that person belonged to a society where there was no such thing as being in a place where you could look down at others that are far away below you to the point that they're the size of insects to your eyes... Since the situation never happened in his life at the tribe, he has no experience nor knowledge of such, it is out of place for him so he has to supplement the unknown with what he knew to make sense out of it (hence insects). We believe the "insects " as humans because we grew up in a culture that exposes us to that situation, hence we learned to consider those "insects " as people if we were put in a similar situation.  (Apr 6, 2009 | post #2)
