Monmouth County NJ Day Spa Owner Fights Ban on Brazilian Bikini Waxing

A proposal to specifically ban Brazilian bikini waxing in NJ was prompted by complaints to the state from two women who were injured in botched bikini waxing sessions. Valentina Chistova, owner of Aquamedica Salon and Day Spa and renowned esthetician is speaking out vehemently against the ban. From the moment the proposed ban was made public, Valentina was bombarded with questions and concerns from clients and staff members. “It definitely is a big issue. Nobody can stop people from getting the Brazilian wax, it’s their body, how can they stop them from doing this? If the state allows this ban, the consequences could be catastrophic,” says Chistova. “Men and women will just seek out illegal waxing salons that are willing to perform the service. These salons may not adhere to the same sanitary and safety conditions that a professional salon and spa does and major health issues could arise.” Valentina urges NJ residents who are against the ban to take a stand.
