We need a team

An NBA team in Hampton Roads would be great and it is the only professional sport that has a chance of being successful. We would only need 17 - 20K to fill it as oppose to many more to fill a baseball or football stadium. The Suffolk location would be great for the area too and the HRBT would not be the core tunnel used to get to it. Unfortunately we don't have regional leaders that has the abilities to make it happen  (May 29, 2009 | post #6)

Vick is no hero

It would just be nice to read comments that make sense. Vick is far from being a hero. What he did was wrong and illegal but he has served his time. Whether you agree with the amount of time given is moot. Vick will continue to pay for his mistakes financially and through public opinion. If he still has the skills to be a productive player in the NFL he should be given the chance to play. Enough said!  (May 29, 2009 | post #6)

Make us all one city

Until this area is ready to have a serious conversation about merging all the major cities as one true city, the area will never be what it has the ability to be. We need one identity and one voice. Then we will see companies willing to bring high paying jobs and could even see a professional sports team in the area.  (May 22, 2009 | post #11)

Peninsula Town Center on schedule to open in Spring 2009

These incidents happen in all malls in America. Norfolk is recognizing they have these same issues at the "upscale " MacArthur Mall. The problem with bad kids is affecting all communities. Is the solution going to be not to build or could it be to do better policing and give our young people a place to put their energy to better use?  (Feb 20, 2009 | post #56)

What ghettos are there around Coliseum Mall. Last I looked Township, Signature Place, the apartments over on Executive and Marcella were not ghetto.  (Feb 19, 2009 | post #45)

A new hotel for downtown Hampton?

Many of you posting are making statements that are not true. Please show us where you are getting your statistics from showing Downtown Hampton is the dangerous area you claim it to be. Sure crime happen there just like any other area in Hampton Roads but it isn't an everyday occurence. Also, there is no public money in this project so why are yall bashing Hampton?? If someone want to take the risk with his money, he has that right. Obviously his research makes him think it will work. What is really wrong with Hampton is that we have all these citizens who Bi*ch but don't offeer any solutions or value. Get the hell out.  (Feb 5, 2009 | post #38)
