I think that the way separation of church and state has been interpreted lately interferes with freedom of expression. I really don't think that the constitution was meant to contradict itself. People simply didn't want to be forced to attend one church over another. I could be wrong but wasn't Catholic Church compulsary at that time in England? This morning on Fox News A child was sent home from school for drawing a picture of Jesus on the cross. He is forced to undergo a psych eval. He is currently being deprived of an education. My question is this, what happened to the rights of this little child? Why doesn't this innocent, harmless, 8 year old, have any rights? This took place in Taunton, Mass. I have to agree with you. The only way we could change one another's mind is if we could each peek into one another's life, and see how they actually do live. But all we really have is an internet connection. Doesn't do much to inspire trust. So what if I tell you that God is good, and that I believe in good. Who knows, maybe in reality I bay at the moon between posts. Maybe I think that would be a good thing, or maybe you do. All anyone really knows is whatever we choose to share. Johnson attended the service yesterday evening (9 December) at the Jesus House church in Barnet. It is led by Pastor Agu Irukwu and is part of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The Church carries out “exorcisms” of people who are sexually attracted to members of their own sex, but insists that such “exorcisms” are done only with the calm consent of the person concerned. This has failed to satisfy critics, who are comparing the incident to a decision by the previous Mayor, Ken Livingstone, to host the anti-gay Muslim preacher Yusaf al-Quaradawi. It doesn't sound like they're dragging people away kicking and screaming...though I would like to see some proof of the validity of 'exorcism' it seems as wrong to condemn the possibility of change one way as another.  (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #26)

If you attend a church that is obviously well off, and they tell you that you are better off to tithe than to pay for medication, and they will not or can not help you get your medication...You should leave this place, I'm a christian and I'd leave. Such ideas ignore the possibility of mercy and grace. These are both important enough to really matter. But, I must agree with you on one thing. You have errored, first you must believe that there is something to be gained, then you must pray for spiritual eyes, so that you may see. Jesus is only invisible to those who will not see. Life is a gift of power that God has given to these innocent fetuses. You have received that power and use it everytime you funtion in life. We do not have the right to deprive the innocent of God's gifts. That being said, there would be no true value in making such a morale law, since it deprives people of the right to choose, it takes meaning from their lives. I'm confused, in one breath you say God doesn't exist, and in the next you blame him for responding. Interesting. You can't have it both ways because you cannot blame something that you don't believe exists, without having your sanity questioned. Since you've brought up these verses, I would suggest that you go back and read the entire chapters so that your eyes may be opened. In all cases, the people (Psalm 137:9, Isaiah 13:16, Hosea 13:16), had fallen out of favor with God who cannot abide sin. These people had been teaching this same sinful lifestyle to their innocent children. (not a good idea). An extra word about the children: Matthew 18:2 2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, 3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. (What does a child have that would cause Jesus to command that we must become like one of them? If a child was automatically going to hell, then why is it necessary to become like a child? A child has Trust, Faith, innocence!) See also: Mt. 5:8; 18:6; Mk. 9:36-37; Lk. 9:48; Rom. 9:12 In that time dashing their heads against the rocks would have most likely caused instant death without suffering, it also would have rescued these little ones from the second death. That is where God finds his pleasure. I sincerely belive, that because of their innocence, even now they are in Heaven. :-) This does not however, mean that if we see someone and decide they have sinned, that we should assault their children.  (Wednesday Dec 16 | post #9678)
