More cancer patients seek out alternatives

This really is a poor article that indeed is biased, HOWEVER, I do find there is value here. If you are interested in trying some "natural " adjucts to your conventional treatment, find a specialist in the field. They do exist. Cancer Treatment Centers of America is a great resource that employs both conventional treatments along with naturopathic. A list of alternative, healthful foods for allergy sufferers

I think it is so important to start shining the spotlight on how we eat...regardless of allegies. This foods listed are good for both allergy and intolerance sufferers and for the general public as a whole. If you haven't at least tried the foods on this list, you should make it a point to...you may discover something you enjoy and that your body will thank you for. Gluten-free advocate helps celiacs enjoy food again

I see and diagnosed so many patients with celiac or gluten sensitivity and truly wish there were more stores like this one in Chicagoland. They are a great resource for all of us! Calorie counts could crowd fast-food menus

Of course I think this is a great idea. No doubt we all know when we order the Big Mac, Quarter Pounder and fries, that it is not healthy for us. I think that the nutrition information is going to be very helpful to those ordering the "healthy " options at the fast food restaturants, especially when they realize that their salad has 800 calories and 20 grams of fat. 6 ways to prevent or treat seasonal allergy symptoms

I think it is important to mention that medications (OTC or prescription) are not the only option for allergies. There are many natural products that have wonderful anti-allergy actions. Butterbur, quercitin, ect. Also, diet always plays a role here and it cannot be ingnored. So happy to see that diet was included here! One thing I would add is the inclusion of Omega 3 fats here...so important in hormone health and inflammation (among other things). Health: Reading food labels key to good diet

In regards to the interpretation of the RDA listing of nutrients..I would have to disagree that we should be advising people the 20% of a nutrient is "high" The RDA was designed to inform people of the amount of nutrient needed to sustain life...not the amount needed for optimum health...in which case 20% of any nutrient is never considered "high". Regardless, education is a powerful tool and the more we educate each other on nutrition...the better. It is the key to our health. Study finds ginger cuts down on chemotherapy nausea in cancer p...

Anytime we can reduce the amount of medications a patient has to take to support their body in healing...I am all for it. Using ginger may very well help many patients off their anti-nausea medications if more doc's know about it's effectiveness. Research hints at link between vitamin D levels and asthma

I check the vitamin D levels on many of my patients and the majority come back deficient. It is important for doctors to check these levels and for patients to request the testing if their physician is not doing so on his/her own. Being educated and informed is the best thing you can do for yourself and for your health. Flowers as remedies

Flower essences can be used as a remarkable healing tool...somethimes we forget that many of our pharmaceuticals were orginially based on the properties from herbs and plants. I use flower essences in the treatment of patients...and pets! Start eating healthier

It's also important to add that we should focus on "Eating Whole Foods" Avoid the processed foods with all the additives, preservatives, colors, corn syrup ect. Also...drink water...avoid sodas, juices ect....too much sugar and not enough to balance it out (essentially empty calories). Eat as naturally as possible and you will see your health and your body respond.
