Crystal River. A small but growing "bedroom community" of the Tampa Bay area. Crystal River and Citrus County offers some of the prettiest country in Florida. From the fresh water bubbling springs in the west to the lakes chain of the Whithlacoochee River to the east, it is nature at its Florida best. But alas, Citrus county also has its share of infamy. This county is where the convicted child molester and killer John Evander Couey did end the innocent life of Jessica Lundsford. A crime that shocked the nation and resulted in new legislation that put Florida forefront as the nations leader in tough child molestation laws. As editor for this page, I will bring to you the best ... and the worst of Crystal River.

Missouri child-support law change touches many issues
Susan, The group is called "Fathers For Equal Rights". It is a self help organization that guides members with legal advise and Pro Se document and petition filings. After talking to my lawyer friend it does not appear that this group has the financial means to mount a Constitutional Challenge but perhaps they are affiliated with some other group that can. Cant hurt to call. http://www.fathers 4kids.com/html/Con tactUs.htm?article _id=13 (Thursday Oct 2 | post #2768)
Missouri child-support law change touches many issues
Susan, I will call my attorney friend in Ft. Worth this weekend. He is the one that told me about this group at a reunion last year. I may not have the name of the group exactly right. All of you that feel strongly about this issue are going to have to carry the torch. No one is going to do the work for you. It is a formidable task. If there are enough of you out there and you have have the will to make a change, then I can help direct your efforts in the right direction with information and suggestion if so desired. Talking about it in this forum my have some therapeutic value but if results are what you want, someone is going to have to "Belly Up". I hope that one of the two ladies that are most vocal in opposition to this TOPIX in this forum have the fortitude to do just that. (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #2722)

The best resolution to this situation is a Federal Constitutional Equal Protection Challenge. It would cost mega bucks but it would settle the issue once and for all for all 50 states. Perhaps a Men's rights group is up to the task. Those so motivated might want to start with the Men for Equal Justice group out of Fort Worth, Texas. (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #2720)

I am correct in my conclusion. Any DEVOTED parent would be moved to help their child succeed. this is irrespective of the marital situation. I have to acknowledge that there are perhaps as many parents that should not have children that are married, as there are parents that are divorced that do not want to have had children. Open you mind, Vote. (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #2705)
Missouri child-support law change touches many issues
It seems to me that the Pennsylvania Supreme Court got this one right when they ruled that compulsory support for minors (or in my view adult children) that go choose to attend college or any other secondary education institution, is unconstitutional in that it does not afford equal protection under the law. As we all know, no State can compel the parents of children in an intact home to pay for the college education of their children. The operative word here is COMPEL. I still believe that any devoted parent would do all they can to help their child succeed. (Wednesday Sep 24 | post #2700)

Are the assertions of your involvement in lawlessness true? I only ask because I would find it astoundingly hypocritical of you come here and espouse a higher moral authority with respect to the rights of minor children when your own moral compass may may be broken. (Saturday Sep 20 | post #2619)
