Lowes Companies

cuts-cuts-cuts and more cuts

Why don't we just turn off the lights and sell the company? Eventually we'll be out of business anyway....  (Mar 6, 2016 | post #2)

How to Survive the Cuts....

-Show up to work wearing a Jimmy Johnson jacket -Play race for the cup (Instead of being on the floor helping customers) -Make sure you don't cycle any counts, even if they need to be corrected, management will view this as a loss and blame you -At the Lowes huddle, sacrifice your honor and volunteer. It's juvenile, but it's the only way..... -Don't help customers. Your zone manager will view this as a threat. Besides, you have more freight to put away -Make sure to pretend to care about numbers. -At the meetings, never EVER mention a lack of staffing. Remember, your store manager doesn't think customers actually need help. The money comes from the heavens....  (Mar 4, 2016 | post #1)

Lowes pilot program in east coast to eliminate Department...

Sadly, Lowes doesn't think rationally. They believe someone would do the Kitchen Specialist job for $12/hr. Lowes thinks you should be thanking them for anything!  (Feb 20, 2016 | post #933)

You're all missing the point. The more people we lay off, the greater the customer service and the more profit for lowes. Doesn't it work that way?  (Feb 11, 2016 | post #835)

I sympathize with your point of view, however, at my store it's the baby-boomers that are lazy.  (Feb 9, 2016 | post #819)

why? do you love lowes?

I personally love how every year I get more and more responsibilities with less help and less benefits. Thank you lowes!  (Feb 9, 2016 | post #3)

And even after you do get the new people, you won't have them as dedicated or productive as the department managers were. Just more part timers who could care less. Another wonderful short sided decision by corporate.  (Feb 8, 2016 | post #7)

I find myself believing that when confronted with a choice, corporate ALWAYS chooses the worst possible choice. Stupidity.  (Feb 3, 2016 | post #3)

This is when Lowes will fail. No staffing that knows anything left. Shareholders in for a surprise.  (Feb 1, 2016 | post #732)

If you show incentive and desire to move up, they simply view you as a threat.  (Jan 31, 2016 | post #14)

Yes, it's going to happen. I would HIGH RECOMMEND getting a new job asap. Even if you somehow make the cuts, what kind of job would you be left with? Running 2-3 departments by yourself? No support staff? Always in fear? Lowes has turned from a great job into a $hithole.  (Jan 30, 2016 | post #709)
