Oh, and not counting her work in the 1960's, anything remotely current sung by CHER. But I love her acting.  (Oct 4, 2008 | post #4627)

It's been so fun reading all your movie reviews! My husband took me to "An American Carol" - and it was quite funny. I appreciated the film, but I'm so particular of what I deem "Big Screen Worthy" that I would have rather rented this one. Only movies like Gladiator, The Matrix, and sweeping sagas with fabulous costumes and English homes and gardens qualify for Big Screen Worthy to me. You know, stuff like that. But Curt enjoyed himself, and I suppose in another 17 years - like clockwork - he'll take me to another flick.  (Oct 4, 2008 | post #4625)

My girlfriend just dropped off a 5 lb. bucket of garden tomatoes and onions for me.....looks like I'll be spending the afternoon making salsa, pizza sauce and spaghetti sauce. Oh well, I guess I'll just crank up the Andrea Bocelli and pretend I know what I'm doing!  (Oct 2, 2008 | post #4591)

Thanks for the wonderfully kind words everybody, but I assure you I'm just a schmuck who can barely remember to wear pants every day! haha! But I think just as highly of all of you as well. You are all unique, intelligent, funny as hell, informed, curious, and kind - - all the most important qualities I can think of that make great persons. You know, sometimes I go to other Topix sites that have an interesting sounding topic to discuss and I'm always appalled at how rude, nasty, and ignorant the people are there. It's almost like they try to out-rude all the others. I run away and can't even tolerate their nastiness. Thank goodness we can play nicely in the sandbox and save our rude displays for people who try to steal Halloween candy.  (Oct 2, 2008 | post #4590)

Tess, before I got to the end of one of your upper posts I was totally thinking - - "ANY dracula flick with Christopher Plummer!!" Those are just the BEST! So any of them would take #1 spot on my movie list. After that maybe: The Haunting (the original, of course.) The Sin Eater (with John-Boy Walton) and basically any of the creepy movies from Hammer Film Productions. All of them had such a great creep factor to them. All perfectly cheesy, but all perfectly misty and foggy in their cheesy-dark wooded - English-ness.  (Sep 30, 2008 | post #4550)

And I know what you mean about the chaos. My stuff can look like a tornado hit it, but I always know exactly which pen I need, and which whatever I'm looking for, and which stack of crap it is currently residing in! lol! I think now I'll join the guys in a big ol' bowl of Beenie-Wienies for lunch, and while they watch NASCAR I'm going up to my room to read and sleep away the day. So much for not being lazy.  (Sep 28, 2008 | post #4517)

Georgia, I don't know what you mean, exactly, by drawing hard, but I did draw extremely detailed things that had to be of an exact line weight in order to be reproduced for different items. So I guess just the way I naturally grip my pens caused my hands to convulse and twist. After work, years ago, I'd wear a bowler's brace and that helped some, but now I guess I just have to go slower and maybe not quite so detailed, huh? Plus I need to get my light table moved back into the house and set up a new studio. My old one has turned into a guest room/office/dressi ng room. Guess I'd better get off my lazy ass and clean out one of the upstairs rooms.  (Sep 28, 2008 | post #4516)

Also, my Mom found some therapeutic gloves she's going to get for my hands so maybe I can start drawing again. So many years of drawing just messed them up, but if these things work, well, I may actually pick up my pens again. THEN my husband took me and his buddy out for steak dinner tonite. I tell ya, I got a full belly, something to paint tomorrow, new stuff to put on said bargain shelves, and a new haircut. It has been a full day here in Whoville. A good time was had by all.  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #4511)

I've had a wonderful day today! My friend and I went to Sioux Falls, had lunch, and went looking for some new crap for my living room walls. At Hobby Lobby I fell in love with some cool shelves, but they were $40 a piece, not in my budget. I went over to the clearance aisle and there were two of them there - THE SAME EXACT SHELF- just different colors, for $8 each. Of course I took them both, got a can of spray paint, and danced out the door with my bargain! I just LOVE a good shopping story!  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #4510)

Oh, and I'm really touched that you would think to ever put me and Grey into a painting. Now I feel all important and stuff! Thanks!  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #4509)

Hi Georgia and Jill! Kitty-cats and bright pink chairs go extremely well together. A sort of glimpse into "The Teenage Years of Kitty-cats", or "Kitty-cats and Their Dorm Rooms". Good photo, Jill! And the painting is once again a wonderful display of color. You work with it so well, Georgia. I wish I wasn't so uptight about color. I'm very rigid - I think I was one of those annoying kids who always colored within the lines.  (Sep 27, 2008 | post #4508)
