TSA airport screenings: No exemptions on religious grounds

Okay, for arguments sake, if 9/11 was orchestrated by the US government, what was the purpose? What was the accomplishment?  (Jan 7, 2011 | post #623)

I would say it is much more recent than that. The attack on Pearl Harbor was an attack on American soil, so were the bombs Japan successfully dropped on Oregon. 9/11 was an attack on American soil. Drug Cartels have attacked American citizens on American soil. There are now areas on American soil where we warn Americans not to go because they are basically under the control of foreign drug cartels. Embassies are also considered American soil and have been attacked. Ships flying the American flag are also considered American soil.  (Jan 7, 2011 | post #621)

If that means I get All my tax money back (including SS) I probably could afford to pay for those items. At the very least, I would actually have more negotiating power than I do now. You are aware, I assume, that about 45% of the current population do not pay any income tax right now? I'm sure the other 55% of us will manage if you give that money back.  (Jan 6, 2011 | post #1240)

1) Not worship, respect, maybe admire, but worship is too strong. 2) You say slavery, I say duty. You also need to consider that these "slaves" were given weapons and instead of freeing themselves, they used them to fight for this country. My personal feelings would scare you even more...I believe that every high school graduate should serve a mandatory two years military service unless enrolling into college. Upon graduation from college, they should serve a mandatory two years unless already served. This would ensure that there would be plenty of guards available for border patrol. It would also ensure that the entire populace would be trained in the use of small arms.  (Jan 3, 2011 | post #605)

There are times when mandatory service to country is required of it's citizens. Jury duty could also be called slavery as well, yes? In a way, all tax payers are in servitude. Depending on how you want to stretch the definition...does working a job you hate so you can pay the bills also count? You are simply playing a definition game and I'm not buying it.  (Jan 2, 2011 | post #603)

Are you saying it was wrong? Many did volunteer, others waited to see if they would be called...but when that call came, they answered. I have no problem with either.  (Dec 29, 2010 | post #593)

Well then, I misunderstood your post, sorry. We probably both agree then that racial profiling isn't the answer. Where we probably disagree is on the methodology currently in use. I think that there are better methods available to us where if they don't actually support the 2nd Amendment, they at least do not infringe on it as directly as our current methods do. For no other reason, I disagree with the current methods because I do not believe they increase any real security for the passengers.  (Dec 29, 2010 | post #590)

Yes, Gato class. Off topic but my father was on the USS Skate during it's second trip to the north pole, and I was on the USS Tinosa when the Berlin wall came down.  (Dec 29, 2010 | post #589)

USS Piranha, they surfaced in Tokyo bay at one point and went through a lengthy depth charging before they got out. Sank a couple Japanese ships, and rescued multiple pilots who were shot down. He was a mechanic so he was normally stationed in the Engine room.  (Dec 29, 2010 | post #587)
