Three year old Little Boy killed by dog

Any dog can kill given the right situation, however these cross-mixed breeds are more notorious for these type events. When you cross a wild animal with a normal breed it will have some of those wild tendencies. I am speaking from experience as an old roommate of mine had a shepard/wolf hybrid. He was lovable enough and minded commands well. We would have never dreamed he could ever turn viscious, however as he got older the wild side began to show itself. By the time he was 7 years old he began digging dens behind his doghouse. One den that we filled up had gotten about 10 feet deep into the ground and was dug through numerous tree roots over a period of about 3 months. The major trouble came once he was 10 years old. He would attack anyone other than my friend (even his wife). He attacked the postman and was quarantined for a month. They let him live because the postman had entered into an enclosed space.(stupid) My friend considered destroying him then but decided against it. (Mistake) My buddy went on a trip to Florida and asked his brother-in-law to come by and feed him. The dog broke his chain (logging chain) and attacked him. He was able to escape, however he had to have over 500 stitches to close his wounds. My buddy called me and asked me to do the deed. I hadn't seen the dog in several months when I walked in the gate. He was loose in the fenced in area since the logging chain had broken. I yelled at him to get into his dog house which is a command that I had frequently used in the past. He walked to the dog house and then turned to face me. He had blood all around his face and he looked as if he had turned into a full-blooded wolf. The hair around his neck stood up and his teeth--that looked like wolf fangs--began gnashing the air. I took a step toward him amd he lowered his head down as if he were about to attack. We were about 40 feet from each other, however I did not want to be any closer so I took the shot from 40 feet with a .40 caliber Smith and Wesson pistol. Luckily hit him in the center of his chest because he started toward me. He started quick but slowed due to the chest wound. He continued toward me and it took 3 more shot to take him down. There were 2 shots in the chest, one that grazed his head and the final shot which I placed behind his ear as he laid down on the ground. He was still trying to bite me as I placed the gun behind his ear. These animals should be eradicated as well as pit-bulls and any other breed with a propensity toward aggression. To allow children near such a breed is total neglect on the parents behalf. To allow young children to roam freely is neglect period. A woman with a history with DFACS of neglecting her child, then allows that child to roam freely witht he knowledge of that animal should be arrested, prosecuted and given the maximum sentence allowable by law. Since the witch has escaped prosecution I pray nightly to God that this disgusting woman will be met by the hounds of hell and ripped apart for eternity when God casts her into Hell!  (May 4, 2009 | post #282)

Sorry, since you brought it up....tha mother is to blame for disregarding her child. She has a history of this as the proof was provided by DFACS investigations in the past. Keep covering for this negligent mother and see what the future brings.  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #9)

I agree, you should watch your children closely. This site is full of venom and off-color language. Try and keep your children's intelligence level above the trash here.  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #7)

Responding to Trolls

Amazing how you people automatically label someone as a "Troll" if they disagree with your opinion or have alternate opinions of their own. Topix is an open forum. You are going to get differing views, disagreements and the occasional troll. I don't readily agree with Ms04, Front and especially Ricky Pope, but I do respect their opinions and I really don't classify them as trolls. They tend to show up wherever topics are heated and busy. The world is a changing place and some of you need to learn tolarance. I have been called a troll over the "Eli" incident. However I was on the child's side... The world is much larger than Hazlehurst, thicken your skin.  (Apr 29, 2009 | post #3)

Poor Eli

How soon you all forget poor little Eli. You dishonor him by your silence. I am still waiting for the truth. The crickets are chirping loudly!  (Apr 19, 2009 | post #1)

Slander — A type of defamation. Slander is an untruthful oral (spoken) statement about a person that harms the person's reputation or standing in the community. Because slander is a tort (a civil wrong), the injured person can bring a lawsuit against the person who made the false statement. If the statement is made via broadcast media -- for example, over the radio or on TV -- it is considered libel, rather than slander, because the statement has the potential to reach a very wide audience  (Apr 9, 2009 | post #4)

Freedom of speech in the United States is protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution and by many state constitutions and state and federal laws. Criticism of the government and advocacy of unpopular ideas that people may find distasteful or against public policy, such as racism, are generally permitted. There are exceptions to the general protection of speech, however, including the Miller test for obscenity, child pornography laws, and regulation of commercial speech such as advertising. Other limitations on free speech often balance rights to free speech and other rights, such as property rights for authors and inventors (copyright), interests in "fair" political campaigns (Campaign finance laws), protection from imminent or potential violence against particular persons (restrictions on Hate speech or fighting words), or the use of untruths to harm others (slander). Distinctions are often made between speech and other acts which may have symbolic significance. Efforts have been made to ban flag desecration, for example, though currently that act remains protected speech.  (Apr 9, 2009 | post #3)

Funny thing....why would Lawman start this on the Jesup forum? Hmmmm.... Seems your stirring the pot a little more than you should. However I am sure people would be glad to practice their 1st Amendment rights on this forum also. You are making false allegations of libel and slander. Learn the definitions and then show me where any of those guys have slandered anyone!  (Apr 9, 2009 | post #2)

I don't beleieve there hasn't been a lot of negativety on the Hazlehurst pages except a few folks not happy with others opinions about the events. I am one that has expressed my anger about the situation. It was an avoidable accident...period! I am sorry for your loss.  (Apr 9, 2009 | post #5)
