Wesglen Homeowners Association.

This association is turning into a joke. For as much money as we pay, I would expect them to at least pretend to enforce the bylaws. People are renting. The streets and parking lots are littered with cars that never move making it look like a used car lot. People throw trash everywhere. People are hoarding into their driveways. Lawns aren't mowed. Cars are parked on grass common areas because owners can't walk an extra 20 yards to their front doors. When school is in session, lazy parents clog up the streets, speed and ignore no parking signs. It's an absolute disgrace  (Jul 4, 2016 | post #61)

Why are most Libertarians men?

I identified as Libertarian for many years until recently. Then I came to the realization that it's silly, doesn't work and only helps about 0.5% of the population of which I'll never be  (Feb 2, 2016 | post #16)

Lockport sit down dining promise is a farce.

Lockport has a couple great sit down restaurants. Sure, there could always be more...but let's support the existing ones and more will come.  (Jan 2, 2015 | post #6)

Monkeys going to Monk

When blacks start to get upset about the torrent of black on black crime; the constant parade of blacks murdering unarmed blacks; the little kids that get shot in their living rooms as a result of gangs being really bad shots; then, and only then, can I get upset about an officer of any color shooting down a black guy of questionable nature at best. Once they can keep their own house in check, we'll start to worry about keeping the police in check  (Nov 25, 2014 | post #24)

New Door To Door Con Man

It's no con. It's just a guy with a really, really horrible job that he'll likely be fired from within 18 months Getting off the ground floor with Edward Jones sucks  (Jun 18, 2014 | post #10)

code enforcement

Grow up and be a responsible homeowner. Almost everyone else has jobs and kids. Almost everyone else cuts their grass and doesn't have junk cars (excuse me, "unfinished classic car rehab projects") strewn about their property. But somehow you're too busy or too special to find time. You knew what you signed up for when you bought a house. Some people around you might want to sell their house and nobody wants to live next to a wildly unkept neighbor. Maybe apartment living is more for you  (May 29, 2014 | post #140)

Good Mayor Bad Mayor

I don't see Noak making any real strides to get people to want to move to Romeoville or even spend money in town. Median home values are substantially lower in Romeoville compared to Bolingbrook and Plainfield. There's ONE grocery store in town. Other than some run of the mill low-end retail, there's been nothing new to bring people into town. The only real new construction are oodles of warehouses, which will do nothing but drive prospective homeowners to surrounding towns because nobody wants to follow a fleet of semis in and out of town everyday Time to step it up, Noak. Earn that huge paycheck  (May 27, 2014 | post #22)

Dems Murder Babies

How many babies have you adopted? I mean, there should be lines of pro-life activists surrounding adoption agencies to take in these unwanted babies that more often than not, are born into horrible life situations. I don't know why anyone could ever possibly care about somebody else deciding they don't want a baby. If you're against abortion, then that's great, don't get one. But if someone else decides that having a baby is bad for everyone involved, just let them be. Or offer to adopt it  (May 25, 2014 | post #7)

Weber is starting to look like Chicago

Reading comprehension is a skill that clearly not everyone has. I don't think the Mayor's office is lying when they told me the process. You said I was spreading "misinformati on". The information was directly from the Mayor's office. I believe the village is outright encouraging these people to beg by simply placing zero restrictions on their begging. Where in the constitution does it say that people have an inherent right to solicit cash on the streets with zero restriction? I'm not against them in an absolute sense, but the permits shouldn't be 30 day renewable. A group should get 10 days a year to do their fundraising on the street corners. When it exceeds that, it becomes a public nuisance. I conservatively estimate that I've driven through 65-70 villages this week all around the suburbs. The only other people (that are not our friends in the green vests) I encountered were Misericordia people last weekend in Bedford Park. This tells me that it's a Romeoville problem. Because if other villages let them do it, they'd be there too in order to make more money  (May 2, 2014 | post #23)

Weber is starting to look like Chicago

Defensive and accusatory much? If groups of high school cheerleaders or the Misericordia people were out there every single day it would still be trashy. But they don't. They pick their spots in the year and people don't mind them. Not to mention, that I don't find any real evidence that this group does any real business in Romeoville other than trying to shake down motorists on a daily basis  (May 2, 2014 | post #20)

Weber is starting to look like Chicago

I mean, I wouldn't put it past the Mayor's office to lie to me. But if they were going to lie, wouldn't they make something up that doesn't make them look like complacent enablers to the troupes of beggars? The beggars were out in full force today on Weber Rd yelling at and staring down motorists. You know where I didn't see a bunch of beggars today? Every other town I drove through that wasn't Romeoville It's not good business for the village to let this continue. It's flat out shameful  (May 2, 2014 | post #19)
