Karaoke and Glasgow

That's all the proof I needed. Frank, I never named any names. A guilty consious needs no accuser. I bad mouthed nobody in particular. Funny how you had to respond to it. You came out to Sulphur Well to start crap and it didn't work out for you. Sorry for your wasted time. Singer of Glasgow, I know who you are. You can hide with anonymous answers to this thread and you prove my point. You aren't brave enough to identify yourself but you can start a bunch of crap because people aren't coming to a certain karaoke show out on Columbia Street. What the hell is wrong with you people? It's karaoke. None of us are gonna get famous doing it. There aren't talent scouts roaming the karaoke joints ready to offer million dollar record deals. It's karaoke. Frank, I have to give you half credit; at least you stated your first name. Singer of Glasgow, you are a spineless jelly fish. You're brave enough to start some crap but not brave enough to prove your crap while you hide behind a computer keyboard. I know alot about you as well. Perhaps I might become anonymous and post a few details.  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #9)

Karaoke and Glasgow

It really amazes me at the level of dumbass people on this site can bring themselves too. What makes it even worse is the IQ of the people that would read something on here and take it for the truth. Very few people will post anything on here and use their real name, much less a picture of themselves, while spewing their lies and hatred. I ain't one of them. You'll see my pic with a nice largemouth caught in upstate New York a couple years back posted with this. Here's the truth. You bunch of wanna-be karaoke hosts need to understand the reason you are wanna-be's. It's because you don't have the experience that my brother and I have in the business nor do you have the "stage" presence to offer a decent show without glamourizing the fact that you have 14 million songs that nobody will ever sing but still feel like you can do a better job than we do. I don't mess with the shows too much anymore; my brother has things well under control on his own. We both started in this business before the digital age where losers are able to go out and buy a "show in a box" with a laptop, PA and a hard drive; preloaded with what it takes to brag you're in the karaoke business. We had to do it the hard way in the earlier days of karaoke and have more talent than clicking a mouse button and hoping for the best. I recognize most of the rantings of this karaoke "dumbass-fest " on here and know who you are. It's a shame I believe one of you is a WKU professor; exptected better from you. You've verbally assaulted Billy Bowles on here and don't have the guts to post your own name or pic. Eric and I both hosted shows in larger cities where there were mulitple shows going on at several different locations on the same night. Every body drew their own crowd; some more than others, but we worked for the crowd we drew and you accepted what crowd you drew. Apparently Eric is drawing a better crowd than the wanna-be's once again and it's wadding people's shorts. I recognize some of the faces at his show from some that have been posted by other hosts on a different social networks pics. Imagine that. Bottom line is this. If you wanna compete with Allison Entertainment, host a better show. Of not, shut the hell up and whine about it on here; using your annonymousity as your excuse as to why you suck as a karaoke host. I've posted my real name and my picture. I'm not afraid to speak my mind. Lemme see how many of the so called "professional s" will do the same. Didn't think so........pussies.  (Mar 31, 2013 | post #1)

Looking for work.

Just got back here to Glasgow this past weekend. Took a hiatus to South Carolina for the last three months, long story, sad ending. Anyway, jobs are hard to come by around these parts but wondered if anyone on here knew of any of the area dairy farms hiring milk hands. Or anyone else hiring for that matter. I've got experience in a milk barn as well as experience with electric motors. I also drove a truck for over ten years but decided to get away from it about 5 years ago. Since I wasn't driving, the last time I renewed my license I just got a class C to save the money it cost's for a cdl, probably not a wise choice. Wouldn't mind driving again if I could find a company that could help me get a cdl once again, would need a truck to take a driving test in. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.  (Sep 14, 2011 | post #1)

Where should i get my taxes filed at?

I've used Taxslayer online the last two years and like Turbo Tax, my 10 year old could have done it for me. Federal is free and adding a state return is $15, I believe. Federal returns will also offer your return on a prepaid debit card if you have no bank account but you will need to make these arrangements through irs.gov, not taxslayer.  (Jan 15, 2011 | post #4)

Applebee's Closed Today

Wow. What a diatribe of dumbass this topic starter is. In a town that has lost so much industry over the last couple of years, you'd think residents here would welcome any employer. Especially in the restaurant business with a chain as large as this one has. They must feel comfortable with spending the kind of money they did to build an establishement like Applebees and profiting from the support of the towns people. Sounds to me like this loser applied for a job and was turned down because of either not enough experience or Applebees only hires "desireable " waitstaff and bartenders. I've eaten there and plan on going back this weekend for more. I really do hate stupid people.  (Dec 1, 2010 | post #5)

Karaoke

Enjoyed comments from both sides of the karaoke thing. Billy does a fine job at the VFW. I'm sure he is attending to the files that won't play for him correctly, it can be frustrating for both guest and host. I had some of those issues as well and it takes awhile to weed them all out. Get out and sing, Ya'll. Karaoke is one of the last free forms of entertainment, besides your food and drink, there is. As hosts, we love to see your smiling faces. Take care and Merry CHRISTmas.  (Nov 30, 2010 | post #6)

Half Time

I'm pretty sure I know who posted this but I'll just clear the air of why my business isn't at Chalupas anymore. It was a decision by management to take a break from the karaoke for a period of time, eight weeks I was told. They do offer karaoke once again with Letitia three nights a week. We weren't "kicked out" as this annonymous person has stated. They felt the need to discontinue entertainment in the bar area for their own financial reasons and I made the choice to not persue resuming shows there. We must not have done too bad a job there since Letitia had a family emergency after restarting the karaoke there and my brother and I were called to fill in for her. If my suspicions are confirmed concerning this annonymous poster, I'll tell everyone here who he is. I believe he may be running for public office. To be continued......... ..  (Feb 18, 2010 | post #28)

Half Time

There are alot of comments on this post that aren't true. They don't have a bouncer, nobody is selling drugs out the side door and certainly not liquor to go. The staff there has changed somewhat since their opening but all of them act professional and are very courteous. There weren't any State patrol or GPD there last night. There was one instance of GPD being there called by an outside source by a jealous boyfriend. The owners don't call the cops on anyone. As for thugs, the regulars there are hard working men and women stopping by after work to enjoy the food and a cold beverage of their choice. Karaoke is on Wednesday night now as UK had so many games on Tuesday night. To keep from competing with the UK crowd it was moved to Wednesday. I know all of this because I own the karaoke company that operates there. Chris and Darla run their business efficiently and hospitibly. I can't help but feel like some of these comments come from people trying to bring their success down. They do things by the rules, draw a good crowd, serve good food and enjoy the patrons that come to their establishment. In closing, I'll show my face with my comments but very few will do the same on this site. I'm proud to be a part of the entertainment they offer.  (Feb 18, 2010 | post #27)

Victor, NY

Anybody know Stephen Bennet?

If anybody knows him and sees him around Victor, would you ask him to send some money to his kids so they can eat? He has abandoned them leaving their mother with no way to feed them. He's also being sought after by Kentucky authorities with a court summons. That is why he's there and not here. He's a wife beater running with his tail between his legs to keep from being charged with domestic violence not to mention Social Security fraud, viewing internet child porn and the illegal sale of prescription drugs. Any responses would be appreciated.  (Jul 5, 2009 | post #1)

Arrests made in restaurants- liquor liscense needs revoked

The major issue with this whole ordeal is that those that were arrested at one of the restaurants were waiting on a designated driver for their trip home. None of them were planning on driving. All of the PSA's you see on tv preaching having a DD has been put to shame by what happened. They were also arrested without being given a breathalyzer test to check blood alcohol level. What determination did the police make to suspect these individuals were intoxicated? If scaring people away from spending money at local establishments that serve alcohol was their goal, they acheived it. Business is down at one I go to for the karaoke. If the powers that be didn't want a "bar" atmosphere, they shouldn't have allowed these places to build them. They could have just as easily served alcohol from a drink preparation area in the kitchen and served to customers. To be honest, I worry more about drivers crossing the center line and running me off the road while they are trying to answer their cell phones.  (Apr 2, 2009 | post #75)

Anyone need a karaoke host?

Hey all, I'm looking for some names of places either here or Bowling Green that might be looking to have karaoke in their bar/restaurant. I'm fairly new to the area and don't know all of the establishments around Bowling Green. I know Las Chalupas has karaoke 3 nights a week here in Glasgow but don't know if any other places here would like to compete with them. Thought I might save some gas by posting here first and see if anyone has any info to share. Thanks in avdvance.  (Feb 24, 2009 | post #1)
