Restaurant Week: More, please

Agreed! A good meal can be had for much less: Lunch for under $10 / person and dinner for under $25 (incl tax & tip) can be EASILY found if one makes even a minimal effort to find them these days!  (Mar 2, 2009 | post #6)

Coen brothers' TV ad ridicules 'clean coal'

Tne notion of so-called 'Clean' (or even 'Cleaner' coal is and will remain an OXYMORON unless and until CO2 can reliably and safely captured and stored! PERIOD!  (Mar 2, 2009 | post #13)

Colleges turn french fry oil into fuel

Agreed! History shows that the greedy oil companies will do most anything to destroy an industry which may hurt their bottom lines! During the 40 & 5o's, oil companies, in cahoots with the THEN Big 3 US Auto Co's QUIETLY bought up LA's privately-owned bus & trolley companies using shell companies they created, then put them out of business, in order to force SoCal residents to buy their cars & gasoline! Seems like poetic justice NOW that all 3 of the now greatly diminished auto companies are on the verge of bankruptcy! SERVES THE BLEEPS RIGHT, IMO!  (Mar 2, 2009 | post #13)

Pirate booty at Field Museum

Agreed! The entry fees for this and other such exhibits, sporting events, etc need to be reviewed and lowered if those in charge wish to recover their costs and even make a SMALL profit given the current state of this economy! My own attendance of such events will be based in large part of their cost relative to its entertainment value for the foreseeable future until the economy makes a FULL recovery!  (Feb 25, 2009 | post #6)

TV anchor in the news with racial bias claims

Agreed! WS's time is LONG GONE! His downhill slide as a newsman began years ago. It's very unfortunate he has used the 'race card' here to bash a legit critic! He should have bowed out gracefully when the getting out was still good for him. He's apparently taken a page from Blago's exit in that regard! I'll start watching NBC5 news again as soon as he's gone!  (Feb 4, 2009 | post #26)

What's your problem? 'Complimentary' 1-day car rental cos...

Agreed! I've only had GOOD experiences with my own at Enterprise and will continue to do business with them in the future! As far as Suburu of S'burg goes, THEY are now on my own PERMANENT SHIrT list! I hope the $2800 dollars was worth ALL of the really BAD pub they 'EARNED' for themselves, especially in this economy!! They sound pretty clueless here!  (Feb 3, 2009 | post #75)

Mother of octuplets already has twins, four other children

Agreed! I hope the media follows this case for years to come and reports how many of these 'rug rats' end up in foster homes or in jail! Absolutely shameful for all who allowed or enabled this to occur. You 'right to life' types who would support this should ALL volunteer to help out here or even adopt one of these kids! Makes me glad I decided to NEVER have any kids long ago!!  (Jan 30, 2009 | post #12)

Stone to Sox TV, Jackson offered radio

Agreed! I like Stone, BUT find the Hawk to be quite irritating most of the time! To0 bad the Sox didn't see fit to 'clean house' by replacing BOTH TV announcers now for next year! (I guess the Hawk is just too good of a homer & 'Heiny-kisser' to the Sox organization!)  (Sep 13, 2008 | post #5)

Poll: McCain gets big post-convention bounce over Obama i...

As ALWAYS, the ONLY poll which really counts is the one on ELECTION DAY! As people learn more about Palin's extreme far-right social positions & lack of international experience and are reminded as well that McCain & Dubya are joined at their political hips, his numbers will likely fall!  (Sep 8, 2008 | post #3)

Forte shines in debut as Bears stun Colts

It's in honor of Gene Upshaw, the former NFL Players Union head, who died recently.  (Sep 7, 2008 | post #21)

Forte shines in debut as Bears stun Colts

I think M&M were STUNNED at what Da Bears did against the heavily favored Colts, just like our local 'Nattering Nabobs of Negativism' sports writers who to a man (and women) EXPECTED the Bears would get hammered in Indy... NOT! UMGAWA, BEARS! A most enjoyable win!  (Sep 7, 2008 | post #20)

Sox lose 3-2 as Angels rally to prevent series sweep

Don! Your funniest comment on Twinkies fans so far this season! Keep 'em coming! Go Sox in '08!  (Sep 7, 2008 | post #14)

Sox lose 3-2 as Angels rally to prevent series sweep

Paulie seems to have FINALLY regained his 2005 form, just in time to make up for the Q's injury. If you'd have told me that in light of Quenten's loss that the Sox would take 2 of 3 from the LA LAA's and be 2.5 ahead of the Twinkies after today's game on Friday, I'd have taken it! And, they did! Go Sox in '08!  (Sep 7, 2008 | post #4)
