I have to admit, while i liked the food, I was never a big fan of the restaurant design. it was neither private enough for a romantic meal, nor lively enough for a fun atmosphere. of course it had been there for 28 years, so i guess they were doing something right.  (May 6, 2014 | post #1)

Burlingame construction forces store closures, project sl...

while i like the look of the new street, its not like the old one was so bad. It's seems like a lot of work that will result is less parking and not much more utility. sure the sidewalks were a little narrow, but the new width isn't really enabling anything new. I wonder what the business owners think of the end result and if its helping or hurting their sales. As to why its taking so long - i have no idea. seems like they're doing a lot of infrastructure work in addition to redoing the sidewalks etc. But still, I agree, it seems to be taking forever.  (May 6, 2014 | post #2)

Mercury News editorial: San Mateo and Santa Clara County ...

so, the mercury news suggests supporting it because they feel there are answers (not given) to the concerns. And because it could take years for them to come up with another plan. Doesn't sound like good reasons to vote for a bad ballot measure. Vote NO on P. * why tear down a school and rebuild it instead of just adding on and saving money? * The District has $70 million remaining from Measure L from 2008 * Its a bad idea to send 5th graders to Middle School with 6-8th graders. * Why would the District pay for solar panels with debt, instead of leasing them and locking in lower rates. Seems like a faster way to reduce costs and reduce risk instead of a huge capital outlay. * Same with technology funding. Why set aside so much money for something that has no clear plan for how to use it and will be obsolete so quickly. * Borel Middle School is also impacted and older with no plan for its future. Can we figure this out too? VOTE NO on P.  (Oct 29, 2013 | post #1)
