Referee says officials errantly voided Steelers TD

They had ONE call for 5 yards, we had THIRTEEN for 115. And then another TD at the end that wasn't even counted...so it's like it didn't even happen??? I saw a picture on the web of a Charger who had pushed Willie Colon's helmet so far up that his eyes were completely covered--just another instance of a "non-call " against them--and yes, they were holding James Harrison on almost every play! Our guys had to play twice as hard as the Chargers to even pull off a one point win. It was by all means the worst called game I've ever seen. I've never been one to use refs calls as an excuse for losing, but in THIS game, our guys won in SPITE of them doing their best to take it from us.  (Nov 17, 2008 | post #9)

Giants Smother Roethlisberger, Steelers

Thanks Rex--appreciate that :) Gonna try to make it much more than what I've been able to so far this season, and looking forward to reading comments from the new ones you spoke of.  (Nov 10, 2008 | post #7)

I just didn't agree with the term "smothered " that the writer of that story used. They beat us, yes, but they didn't "smother " us.  (Nov 10, 2008 | post #5)

So winning by SEVEN points is "smothering "? Good grief, that terminology makes it sound as though they beat us by 40 points lol  (Nov 7, 2008 | post #2)

Illini's Mendenhall falls to Pittsburgh

Hey Bill (and all)! Totally agree--I enjoy watching him play and during interviews, and I don't think for a moment that he ever does anything to be mean-spirited. As far as why he wants to leave Cinci--IMO, it's because some folk there are blaming him, and saying he's the cause of their messed up season last year. He keeps saying something to the effect "If I'm the one messing things up, just let me go".  (May 2, 2008 | post #40)

Health Insurance Premiums Skyrocket

That answer is fine for those older folk who are able to get a job on the side, but some are in much too poor health to do so--they are unable to "find more income".  (May 2, 2008 | post #348)

Price of gasoline hits record $3.26

Ok, so let's have every single person of working age get master's degrees (since, according to YOUR way of thinking, everyone who doesn't is basically lazy and stupid) and take jobs such as lawyers, doctors, CEO's, etc. That's all well and good until all of us (who are quite well off by now since apparently there is no lack of great positions available) needs someone to pick up our garbage on garbage day, or fix our cars, or mow our lawns, or check out our groceris, etc... My point is, that there will ALways be a need for (in YOUR mind) "lesser" jobs. I don't think you'd like this country very much if EVERYone had jobs above entry level.  (Mar 24, 2008 | post #282)

Faneca Disappointed To Leave Steelers

I liked him, but I don't like greed. If he can't afford to support his family on earnings of over 5 million a year, then I guess it's time he moves on. If he truly wanted to stay a Steeler, he could've accepted the contract offered. Football players' salaries are getting beyond ridiculous--guys used to say they'd play for nothing (and they almost did) just because they loved the game...guess there aren't any of those kind left. Joey left because of money issues, and I have a feeling he'd undo what he did in a heartbeat if he could. Sometimes there are more important things than money.  (Feb 26, 2008 | post #6)

Wisconsin man convicted of sexually assaulting dead deer ...

Beastiality is a crime in most states, I would think... The fact that the poor thing was killed by him for that purpose means that he's got some serious problem. A horse the first time, a deer this time, a human next time? He's following a type of pattern that serial killers follow.  (Jan 7, 2008 | post #180)

Great post--and I've already read elsewhere that the ST coach is definitely gone for '08. Could be a rumor...  (Jan 7, 2008 | post #316)

Not many anylsts are picking us to win, (other than Brian and Sterling) but I have a good feeling about this one, and I wouldn't be surprised at all for us to pull it off :D If not, it's still been a pretty good season...better than most predicted! Just a little less than five more hours--go Steelers!!!  (Jan 5, 2008 | post #307)

Thanks Midwest and RexExactly what we've seen in almost every loss we've had this season--improper, lackluster play until the 4th Q. The Dr Jeckyl, Mr Hyde syndrome I was talking aboutThe three headed monster, absolutely. And you're right--it doesn't matter who we play, they just have to play with the intensity that they want to win!  (Jan 1, 2008 | post #295)

Smith Says Pats Will See Steelers Again

Yeah, that's big of Tom to pay for a child he's responsible for helping to bring into the world. Now let him do the REALLY responsible thing, and show that he actually wants to be a DAD to this child. Not a judge on the face of this earth that would stop him from seeing his own child just because the mother is being childish and is jealous of a new g/f. It's not hard to get visitation set up--you just have to WANT it first.  (Dec 27, 2007 | post #216)
