Couldn't agree more. As Ray Lewis said the other day, no matter how much you don't like someone, you have to respect the way they play football. An I think both teams have that mutual respect thing going, with a healthy portion of hatred sprinkled in. Recipe for a great game of hitting!  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #22)

That's right baby! Joe "I should go ahead and let my uni-brow complete itself" Flacco has a lot of tape out on him now, so get ready! Run your little trick plays that get you a first down or two, but they will not win you the game. Steelers defense is playing absolutely lights out, and this week should be no different. Enjoy the game all!  (Dec 12, 2008 | post #17)

For Gitmo lawyer, conscience versus duty

Maybe it was attempted murder, and they failed to include that. Or if it was a separate incident maybe? I doubt they just charge someone with flat-out "murder" if nobody was killed.  (Oct 21, 2008 | post #3)

Whose fault is it that the Ravens lost to the Titans on S...

I seriously doubt you are far from a Raven's homer. Weak? Really? What's weak is the fact that you misquoted my reply. Did I compare what Ray does to a running back? No. There is no doubt that what Ray does with a running back coming right at him is great...possibly the best ever. But what I said, and what you so conveniently failed to see and mention, is when he hits a defenseless receiver and blows him up, you all seem to love and praise him for that. But when Ward does it to a defender, who outweighs him by 50 lbs, everyone likes to bash him. You are obviously the moron for not reading my reply right, or even more of a moron for putting your own little convenient comparison in. Homer....  (Oct 9, 2008 | post #55)

Referee explains penalty call on Suggs

Do you know all of the refs? Do you account for them every game? Do you know how they are governed. Of course you don't, so you don't know what the hell happens to them on that end. And I don't as much blame these calls on the refs as much as I do the league setting them. The refs are calling what the league mandates, clear and simple.  (Oct 8, 2008 | post #40)

First of all, I never called them great for this year. They were great the year they won the Super Bowl: Complete running game, O-line, same old top 3 Defense. They are "good" this year. So I agree with you on that, but don't take it out of context. You say you should've beaten us, but you imploded. Then no, you should not have beaten us, because you aren't the better team. You can't control your thug defensive players or your QB fumbling and throwing picks left and right, or your rookie Coach making bad calls. What I whole-heartedly disagree with you on, is Hines "I'm a complete football player" Ward. You like it when Ray "I should be in jail for Murder" Lewis blows up a defenseless receiver, who ways 180lbs, coming over the middle, but when Ward throws a huge block on one of your defensive players, you don't like it. Nice double standard. And I never liked Joey Porter...ran his mouth too much...a lot like the Ravens, and that's why he's no longer with the organization. Same with Plaxico, gone. And real nice wishing injuries on players. Makes you as bad as the comments you make. But hey, good to know we can still beat the Ravens with a 4th string RB, and 2nd string D-line. Enjoy your season.  (Oct 8, 2008 | post #50)

Unless you can tell me exactly how that was, I'd be happy to discuss it. But until then, realize this: you prove one of my points. How did Pittsburgh get to the Super Bowl? They are a great team, and most definitely as good as I, and everyone else, thought. You don't get to the Super Bowl by being mediocre, at best, like the Ravens. Go ahead and GIVE the Ravens those two games that were "taken" from them this year, are they a Super Bowl, or even a playoff, team? Hell to the no. This is the trend for the Ravens ever since 2000. Any coincidence you have only won the division maybe twice since then?  (Oct 7, 2008 | post #30)

I appreciate that. I expect fans to be upset about it, but it's absolutely outrageous to fool yourself into flat out believing it. And not just the fans, but the paper columnists as well! And to the comment about the refs being held accountable: they are HEAVILY scrutinized by the league, as well as themselves. For one thing, they sit and review each and every one of their calls, and get questioned on them. Not to mention, they are graded on their performances throughout the year. Depending on their performance of the year, they may or may not be called up to ref playoff games, or the Super Bowl.  (Oct 7, 2008 | post #34)

Finally, a voice of reason. Look, I like to pick and poke Ravens fans as much as the next Steelers fan, but I'm reasonable. This crap about the blown call as the only reason the Ravens lost is comical. So look Ravens fans, one of (many of them actually, but just one on this article) your own sees the light! Now for the rest of you should follow suit.  (Oct 7, 2008 | post #6)

Did you even watch the Sunday night game? The Steelers were called for at least 3 personal foul calls. What did we do? For one thing, we didn't cry about it, even after a roughing the passer call as bad as the one on Collins. Nope, no crying here, we just stopped them on defense, and went down and scored a touchdown. That's what good teams do. I'm so damn sick and tired of the Ravens blaming all of their losses on the refs. Bad calls are a part of the game. And although I agreed with most of this article, he lost me when he said this game would've been different if this call wouldn't have been made. Where the assumption and total loss of credibility comes in, is where he says "the Ravens could've ran the clock out by getting a few first downs." Ahahaha! The Ravens barely got a few first downs the entire game! What makes you think they had the ability to do that? Especially when Flacco is tossing interceptions like free t-shirts at a game? It's time, Ravens and Ravens fans, to own up to the fact that you aren't as good as you think you are...seriously, just accept it.  (Oct 7, 2008 | post #5)

Not great yet: Defense doesn't come through in clutch

I'm just glad that there is a voice of reason in some of the Ravens fans and columnists. Listen, I like to rib at Ravens fans as much as the next Steeler fan, but I'm reasonable. There is just no way that you can blame that one call on the Ravens losing the game. I've said it myself, the Ravens are moving in the right direction on offense. They just have to wait a year or two to really see that come to fruition. As long as the defense doesn't get too old too quick, y'all will be contenders in a year or two. So stop crying about calls! :)  (Oct 6, 2008 | post #58)

Referee explains penalty call on Suggs

Oh no, please excuse me! The entire title to these posts and blogs is that the Ravens were "robbed" of a win. That implies that the game was somehow taken from them. Of course I've complained about a bad call, who hasn't? But again, this stems from the blogs claiming the game was taken from them. And of course you have the right to complain, and yes, people should be called out on their mistakes, and yes it is the ref's job to make the right call. But you said it yourself, people learn from their mistakes and MOVE ON! And the Ravens and their fans seem to have a hard time of moving on. Gets old really fast.  (Oct 6, 2008 | post #25)

And I'm sure you were also 100% certain that Flacco and the defense ultimately blew the game. Or did the refs make Flacco throw those picks? Or did the refs let the Titans continue to drive 60+ yards down the field and score. That's what I hate about Ravens fans, they never own up to the fact that their team is simply not as good as they think they are. Always someone else's fault.  (Oct 6, 2008 | post #15)

Yeah...............then maybe you should go to ref school and get out there and make a change. Surely your Superman esque penalty calling abilities will turn it all around, and you will never miss a call.  (Oct 6, 2008 | post #14)
