Tomlin knows what the Steelers need

I think the biggest benefit would be teams being able to keep their "older" talent because the financial toll from the first round draft pick would be considerably less.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #1304)

Pittsburgh Stealers -- The death tax may force an NFL sale

That whole article is just a look into the future. The Rooney family must lock up control of the team before they have to worry about the death tax.  (Jul 22, 2008 | post #4)

Mendenhall + Sweed = Division Title

First game I had ever saw. A terrible way to start my Steeler fandom.  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #99)

The problem lies when our weakness is matched against another teams strength. Predominately, defensive line is a strength in the league. Additionally, people would put 7-8 guys in the box to stop the Steelers' running game, further hampering our teams biggest weakness. (Alla Ben Roethlisberger sack tally)  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #922)

Trent Edwards is their man now. That guy came in last year as a rookie and really turned some heads in the league, and to do that on an offensive "juggernaught " like the Bills, is pretty impressive.  (Jun 4, 2008 | post #921)

I still think they need to get a BIG back. I know Mendenhall can run it inside, but can he wear down defenses the way Bettis did? That's one reason I'm not completely comfortable with the direction Tomlin is taking the offense. Seems like he wants a more spread attack, than a power running game. However, we all know how the last experiment in the spread offense turned out with Burress and Maddox.  (May 29, 2008 | post #840)

I must admit I am included in that group that haven't the slightest what smashmouth used to be. The first game I ever remember watching was the Steelers Superbowl XXX loss to the Cowboys. (And that memory is quite vague.)  (May 29, 2008 | post #77)

I need Rochester Advice...

I'm primarily interested in the city limits. I'm only 23, so no kids and DEFINATELY none on the way. Can anyone tell me about the Westfall Heights Townhouse Rentals? They seem pretty nice and affordable.  (May 28, 2008 | post #4)

Rochester, NY

I need Rochester Advice...

My fiance and I are going to move to Rochester in August. Neither one of us have been there before and I need some advice. What are the nicer sections of the city, and which ones should I avoid? Additionally, if anyone can give me a line on a two bedroom apartment that is relatively cheap and allows small dogs, please let me know.  (May 28, 2008 | post #1)

Browns to play 3 times on Monday night

Jamal Lewis' 2007 Stats: Opponent Def. Rush Rank Yards Week 1: PIT 3 35 Week 2: CIN 21 216 Week 3: OAK 31 56 Week 4: BAL 2 64 Week 5: NE (Cheaters) 10 11 Week 6: MIA 32 DNP Week 7: BYE Week 8: STL 20 61 Week 9: SEA 12 37 Week 10: PIT 3 35 Week 11: BAL 2 92 Week 12: HOU 19 134 Week 13: ARI 9 62 Week 14: NYJ 29 118 Week 15: BUF 25 163 Week 16: CIN 21 92 Week 17: SF 22 128 TOTAL: 1304 Average Def. Rush Rank: 18 Yards/Game: 81.5 Analysis: Jamal Lewis is a serviceable running back who ran predominately against a week rushing defense all year. Combine weak opposing defense with the Browns' spread attack in 2007, and that is the reason for Lewis' success. I'm not taking anything away from Lewis. 1300 rushing yards is a great accomplishment. However, Lewis' success in no way validates any blocking ability of Winslow. Winslow's draft overview: http://sportsillus trated.cnn.com/foo tball/2004/draft/p layers/44616.html And I quote: "To this point lacks functional football strength and gets average results blocking." A fair analysis. The point of all of this? Winslow is primarily a pass catching TE, and is not a very good blocker. I've never seen a TE make the Probowl based on his blocking stats. (There are no blocking stats recorded by the NFL.) Additionally, would it be too much of a stretch to believe that the majority of true PIT fans appreciate blocking TE's more than other fans of other teams? Mark Bruener was drafted as a blocking TE. Jeremy Tuman, terrible pass catching TE, great blocker. Spaeth drafted to block. Miller is the best of both worlds (as a first round TE should be.) A large bruiser carrying the ball behind a double TE set will win games, ala the entire career of HOF RB Jerome Bettis.  (May 27, 2008 | post #299)

I my opinion, I'd take Gates over Miller (although I think he is a great TE), and DEFINATELY over Winslow Jr. Gates seems like a more "stand-up " guy than Winslow, and has twice the talent with half the "fraility ".  (May 22, 2008 | post #266)
