After reading some of your other posts, you're obviously just a troll. Go play on 4chan and leave the rest of us alone.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #467)

Much more cool-headed and eloquent than my rant there. Logic is lost on certain people, but maybe some kind of emotional appeal will work. My favorite TeaPublicanism is "keep the government out of my Medicare!" I feel this meme illustrates both the egocentrism you mention (which I believe is indemic to the TP movement and right-wing authoritarianism in general) and their lack of basic thinking skills or information, or both. I have to admit that I've spoken with people under the age of 30 recently who rail against the Obama adminstration and "socialism " while receiving food stamps as their only means of sustinence. When I pointed out that their food stamps are funded by the very government they are speaking out against, they couldn't say anything. Blank facial expressions as if I'd made a funny noise, let alone human speak. Fascinating, and somewhat disturbing.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #460)

Why I’m no longer a Christian

I had a very similar experience when i was 22. I was in private at the time, but it was a truly spiritual experience which felt like the entire knowledge of the Universe flowing into me, and the only god that I saw was my own intellect, my own self, my own being, and at the very moment it occured to me that only I can save myself, and here I am, real, in the flesh, not a made-up phantasm from a dark era of illiterate desert dwellers. That realness was palpable, and I believe it physically felt like what being "born again" is allegedly---but does not--feel like.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #301364)

You think liberal policy has hurt our country? How does it hurt someone to have unemployment insurance, financial aid for better schooling & training, food stamps to be able to eat when their job vanishes because of an economic collapse caused by REPUBLICAN DEREGULATION of Wall Street? What would you tell somebody in that position? I'll tell YOU what: every time you use a service like the police, fire department, a libary, Medicare, Medicaid, running water, city streets, highways, ETC., you are rightfully taking advantage of SOCIAL WELFARE programs that are freely and fairly available to EVERYBODY becauase IT MAKES EVERYBODY'S lives better--it makes society better! All the Repukelicans want to do is take away everything and give it all to the top 1%! They care about nothing but money and power! Why would you vote for somebody that doesn't care about you? Either you are very wealthy yourself, or you're a fool.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #453)

Tammy spoke out vocally against the Iraq invasion, which we know the Bush administration DID NOT DO TO PROTECT US, but rather to consolidated their OWN POWER by spilling the blood of our own young men & women and the blood of tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis. She had the courage to stand for what's moral and just when most others blindly followed.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #17)

Ron Johnson has an apt last name for the kind of person he is. He's all for dismantling our society by elimating our social welfare programs and leaving the least among us to starve on the streets. If that's what you'd do to YOUR neighbor, go ahead and vote for Ron "Dick" Johnson.  (Oct 22, 2010 | post #447)
