South Dakota woman had a blood-alcohol level of .708, prosecuto...

Oh yes... cuz we all know people NEVER drive without insurance. People think laws don't apply to them. Revoke their licenses all you want, they're still gonna drive. She was caught driving two stolen vehicles. Do you think she stopped by her insurance agent to make sure they were covered?  (Yesterday | post #73)

For employees, gift-card fraud is easy, profitable to exploit

OMG! No wonder you have to pass a background check to work at McDonalds or SA! I don't understand why people think they won't get caught. Eventually everyone gets caught. And just because you're stealing from a company, doesn't mean there's no victim. Idiots. Shoot 'em. (Just kidding;-)  (Thursday | post #14)

Extra pinch for landlords

Even if he did need help, he couldn't get it. Section 8 vouchers are passed down in families from parents to their children. These people don't respect their rentals because they've never had to actually pay for them. While not all people on Section 8 are trash, plenty are.  (Monday Dec 21 | post #55)

Enchanted by nutcrackers: Seiffen, Germany, is fairy-tale-like ...

Natural causes can include illness. Other sources are saying she was on prescription medication for flu-like symptoms. Maybe she's the first famous person to succumb to H1N1. That's what it sounds like to me.  (Monday Dec 21 | post #3)

Extra pinch for landlords

I completely agree that there's nothing wrong with a trailer. Have you priced one lately? I did about 8 years ago because I wanted to be a homeowner. I was looking at $50,000 for a small single wide with 2 bedrooms to $125,000 for a nice doublewide with 3 bedrooms that I could actuall raise my kids in. Not too bad, but add in the cost of lot rent, and it's still out of reach. I almost bought a house a couple months ago for $105,000 and my house payment would have been over $200 a month less than my rent. Unfortunately, I don't have "A" credit so my loan fell through. For what I pay for rent I should be a homeowner.  (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #50)

Denny Hecker's girlfriend faces contempt charges for not paying...

If she paid the rent to the trustee but the trustee returned it to her, why is she facing contempt charges? Isn't the trustee the one who is in contempt, as he was ordered to accept the payments? Also, John: What did the public entrust with this man? I don't believe he is a government official. He is a business man - out for his own bottom line. Just like millions of other people. I am not understanding your comment. Theresa: Good Call!  (Wednesday Dec 2 | post #4)

Can I rent from you? 'Cuz I pay just under $1000 for my two bedroom... and those ghetto girls and guys straight outta the halfway houses are my neighbors. $775, $800, $900 is reasonable if you are getting quality. People like me are getting the slumlord and paying the high price. Oh, and my apartment complex was decent when I moved in, but 3 years and countless property managers plus new owners later it's horrible. It seems like half of North Minneapolis are making an exodus to my building.  (Nov 18, 2009 | post #47)

I'm so glad my kids still can't get the vaccine... BECAUSE they are insured. Makes sense to me...  (Nov 17, 2009 | post #12)

Have you ever gotten a mortgage? All down payment money must be aged (in you account for some amount of time, 60 - 90 days before applying) or documented as gift money from a qualifying family member. You aren't going to be able to go down to quick-e-loans or the local loan shark and borrow the $8000 to use as your down payment. Doesn't work. Banks aren't allowing it.  (Nov 10, 2009 | post #32)

Neighbors look for answers in Fla. girl's death

Is it just me, or is there a very high concentration of sex offenders "in the area". Police would not disclose whether she'd been sexually assaulted, but were questioning sex offenders. I can read between the lines on that one. Poor baby. I can not even comprehend the thought of killing anyone, much less an innocent little girl.  (Oct 23, 2009 | post #2)

Nathan's dad, brother beat the flu; he couldn't

This is too sad. This advice makes me angry though: "The message from health leaders still is to keep children with fever at home and take them to the doctor or hospital only if they have complications, she said." How are we, as parents, supposed to know what complications warrant a trip to the hospital? If the doctors can't tell the difference between myocarditis and dehydration, how should we? Is my baby going to die like this one because she was sent home from the hospital instead of being correctly treated? Was there actually anything the doctors could have done to save Nathan? This is very scary. And these pat answers we are getting are not good enough.  (Oct 6, 2009 | post #16)

St. Paul / Man shot by cops was wanted in woman's stabbing

Do you honestly think that's the same mug shot they took when she was originally arrested? Duh, they update the pics periodically. That pic was probably taken right before she GOT OUT! So, of course she was smiling. She spend almost half her life in prison. And she didn't pull the trigger, did she? Like I said, it is sad and sorry that what happened happened. I'm not condoning it. But, she did her time... I'm pretty sure she hasn't killed anyone else since she got out.  (Oct 5, 2009 | post #235)
