I took over as editor of the Social Software category on April 23, 2007. Social Networks are drastically changing the we live, work, and play. Prior to my tenure as editor, the archives will reveal primarily stories about school children in trouble for something they posted on their Myspace site. You will not see those stories anymore. Initially I will focus on Social Software itself, and its implications in politics, marketing, economics, and our everyday lives. Over time, I wll gradually return to focus more on the core of this topic, and focus on primarily the business aspects (this topic is categorized under business news), and believe me, there are plenty of stories out there. I will also tend to write stories from time to time, and begin writing abstracts for each story, hoping to spark a lively debate, in the comments area. I'm an Internet professional who actually remebers that social networks have been around for about 10 years, and in this industry...that makes me a dinosaur. I also have 2 blogs about social networking on blogspot, although I haven't written much there since I have started them. You can find them at: http://niche-communities.blogspot.com - Which deals with all of the niche communities coming out, and http://community-building.blogspot.com/ - Which is more of what I will be covering here, so I probably wouldn't bother.
