CMU, women's coach sued by ex-player

What were her stats year 1 and 2? It would be nice to know...and if she was a performer it adds more to her complaint.  (Feb 11, 2009 | post #286)

$500K salary tough for banking execs

Not smart? The gov't was not smart in offering a deal to the banks. The banks that accepted the cash weren't smart for taking the money. We aren't smart for not pressuring our gov't reps to stop the madness. We can only hope the stimulus will not pass.  (Feb 10, 2009 | post #33)

$500K salary tough for banking execs

Jim has nailed it. This not about executive comp, this is about the errosion of the American way of life. As these "changes " continue to surface ask yourself what will be next? Soon those who are thrilled at those currently effected will be the recipients of limited freedoms. As a side note, I love it when those who don't have, can't get, haven't done things to get them to the top cheer at the misfortune of others. Tax 'em, take away their money! Nobody wins....everyone loses, and these morons don't even see it happening.  (Feb 10, 2009 | post #32)

Stimulus may spark revitalization push

So, who is working on the toll road? Who is working at the lottery? There are still jobs, and maybe even more jobs....they are not Gov't jobs. We need less gov't....Mitch's leasing model provides revenue for the state while reducing state expenses. At the same time there are people that are employed. What exactly is your point?  (Feb 3, 2009 | post #3)

Union asks Lugar to support stimulus

"There comes a time when we need to sit down and start doing what's right in the country and stop the greed and start working together to turn this country around," said Indiana AFL-CIO President Ken Zeller. A perfect quote from a person who knows about greed and an institution that has taken advantage of the gov't and country for years. Most of the problems we face are due to the propped up history of the enconomy. Everything ebbs and flows...that has not been allowed to happen, and the gov't is trying to master the universe once again. Some thining of the herd may be necessary, all things will come back in their own time. A big fat pork sammy w/ billions of earmarks and made up s/t projects and jobs will change little. That change is less likely to happen given that we all know that this is a fix....not a solution. More programs, more gov't projects, and way too many gov't employees will not save us.  (Feb 1, 2009 | post #10)

Four shot at east side nightclub

Denny, How many "safe" places are there at 230 in the morning? I am sure that the K of Clubs is a nice place, but things go wrong after 12....and usually go off the rails around 2.  (Feb 1, 2009 | post #10)

Four shot at east side nightclub

So far this has all of the makings of a standard senseless crime. We have a "club", never heard of it, but I am sure it is very nice. If a bar is involved we have drinking (and maybe more). We have late night/after hours activities. We have multiple people hanging outside of the bar at closing. We have guns. I am looking forward to the remaining variables. Who will be be shocked when the same people, do the same things, at the same times, in the same places, under the same circumstances? Social Darwinism.  (Feb 1, 2009 | post #9)

Why are Obama's Nominations Not Law Abiding?

As a hardcore conservative I hate to say that these issues effect both sides of the aisle. But I do agree that there are exceptions to the rule that everyone in Washington is a crook and Obama should find those exceptions. The problem w/ lifer politicians are evident. They are self serviing. They have made a career out of a job that is not designed to be a career. These guys make millions and are completely out of touch w/ the real world...yet they are the ones that decide what happens to everyday people. They are above the law and beyond reproach. It is our job as citizens to make sure we keep these guys rotating and that new, fresh, non-corrupted reps get in office.  (Jan 31, 2009 | post #2)

High court hears school discipline case

Perfect! Let's worry about the exception to the rule. We have an issue w/ parents not being involved enough and teachers not able to get involved as they should. In fact the same can be said about the community at large....apathy from most, and the inability (or fear) to act from the rest. There was a time that when you got in trouble at school the punishment you received was harsh, but not as bad as what you would get at home. The same goes for the neighborhood. If you acted up down the street a neighbor would give you an "adjustment " verbal or otherwise and you couldn't beat the phonecall about your antics home. As much as I hate to say this case it may just take a village. I live in a neighborhood w/ tons of kids....and at any given time they are in my house or yard. If they do something that warrants discipline they get it. I also coach my son's ball team and the same rules apply. In return I get nothing but respect from the kids and their parents.  (Jan 30, 2009 | post #11)

Lugar says he'll vote for bailout deal

Let's not be so picky about the auto industry...we can't afford the economy to fail. The answer is NOT to give loans and bailouts to industry. Let's suppose we give a huge bailout to the auto industry. What will they do? It's "found money"....mos t likely no real changes will be made. Further, as the auto industry enjoys their newly found solvency the economy still tanks. So, who will buy the cars that the newly cash infused automakers make? If through industrial evolution a car maker fails, so be it. Assuming the economy is stable (or getting there) the demand for cars (units) will remain the same. So, not all automakers will disappear. Those that remain will be more flush...and hopefully those that are on the failure border make changes to make them healthier. That is how it is suppose to work w/ all companies. No more bailouts.  (Jan 30, 2009 | post #6)

IPS teachers to impliment work slowdown

Privatization. Get Gov't out of the schools....or is it get schools out of the Gov't? Trim it down, slim it down, lose the BS and allow parents a chance to choose where/who educates their children. We have a base of talent...the teachers, now we just need a better organization to manage things.  (Jan 28, 2009 | post #48)

Committee backs new teen driver rules

Great job Nick! You may be the exception to the rule....we'll see in a few years w/ more miles and more experiences under your belt. Confidence could be a killer. As people get more confident they tend to lower their guard and pay less attention. The proposed changes are good and make sense. The more education and supervised driving the better. As far as maturity would you/could you measure that? I know a lot of people that would not pass the maturity test....and they're in their 30's. Just like voting, serving in the military, and buying a beer, there needs to be a starting place and measurement. Maybe everything should be can vote, drink, drive (not at the same time), etc.  (Jan 28, 2009 | post #3)

Alcohol laws in Indiana could change

Ralph just proved he is a moron....nicely done. Back to back posts that contradict one another. Not a lot of thinking going on here. The point of this, every time it comes up, is about personal freedom and the removal of gov't from our lives. Alcohol on Sunday, Cafe standards on cars, gun laws, nationalized healthcare, and Gov't directed stimulus is destroying America. We don't need the Gov't telling us what, when, and how we should do anything....those in favor of these types of policies are supporting stripping personal freedoms and limiting liberty.  (Jan 27, 2009 | post #21)

Obama faces great expectations

Thanks for making my point. Feel free to point out something....please be specific. Further, if you will ready my post and other posts you will realize my position(s). I would suggest that you do that before you give me a label and let the insults fly. Actually, you may find making your point w/o being degrading or insulting will give you more credibility.  (Jan 22, 2009 | post #58)
