Texas man shoots two men breaking into his neighbor's home

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say you're a liberal. Typical of you people, blaming the law-abiding gun owners and not the dirtbags who steal them.  (Jun 12, 2009 | post #512)

Man posed as dead brother to get drugs

I assume you're talking to me, but who can tell when all you do is refer to everyone using cheap vulgarities. I'll explain this to you slowly because you obviously are having a hard time understanding this. Just because this was a story that occured near Onaway, doesn't mean that it gets posted in just the Onaway Topix. It also showed up in the TC topix and probably many more around the Onaway area and when comments are made, they get posted to every one of the town's forums. Everyone else seems to get this except for you. And as far as the rest of that senseless, rambling, 3rd grade mentality name calling, I wouldn't expect anything less out of you. It's ok though. I knew a lot of kids growing up that didn't have the capability to make an intelligent point, so they just resorted to insults to make themselves feel better. Unlike you however, they grew out of it.  (Jun 12, 2009 | post #23)

Gay: A Choice? Michigan City Hosts Competing Conferences

Making up a word? "stupid" is a word, stupid. I looked it for you and it's in the dictionary. "Annoying, irritating, and senseless", three words that perfectly describe you. Not that it matters anyway, like I said, it's a slang term for "gay". Funny how gay pride parades are praised by liberals, but if I decide to organize a white pride parade, I'm cast as a racist by the same people. Our founding fathers would puke if they saw the direction this country was going in; gay marriage, constitutional rights for terrorists, legalized abortion, spanish on every product being sold, etc... You people are liberalizing this country to a point where you won't be able to recognize it in another 20 years. I'm not going to change your mind, and you're certainly not going to change mine. Marriage is to be between a man and a woman, period. This is the last you'll hear of me on the subject. I've got other topics to tend to. And other people to piss off. Ha-ha-ha!!!  (Jun 7, 2009 | post #23)

Opposing views in Michigan's motorcycle helmet laws takes case ...

Helmet laws are just like seatbelt laws, they suck! Neither one is endangering anothers person or property, so let it go. If the government has it's way, in another couple of years, there will be helmet laws for bicycles too. There's plenty of other ways people can get hurt or killed not riding a motorcycle. I'm not a rider, but let em have a little freedom for pete's sake.  (Jun 7, 2009 | post #6)

Gay: A Choice? Michigan City Hosts Competing Conferences

Contrary to your first statement, "gay" is a slang term for stupid where I come from. Example: "Hey Bob, you got in trouble for running down a war protester with your car? That's pretty gay." And besides, I didn't say that it WAS stupid, I just said that it sounded stupid to me. As far as the rest of it, I feel that if you want to do your own thing behind closed doors, be my guest. I also feel however, that the gay marriages and gay pride parades are starting to shake the moral foundation that this country was based upon. What's to stop one dude from marrying three other dudes or having a parade that celebrates a guys perceived right to have relations with a tree in his backyard because he's in love with it? Ok...silly examples, but hey, where does it end?  (Jun 7, 2009 | post #14)

Gay: A Choice? Michigan City Hosts Competing Conferences

I guess I just don't get it. How can any guy look at a gorgeous girl in a jean mini skirt and cowboy boots with a tight shirt and say, "she's nice, but I'd rather be with her boyfriend"? Maybe I'm old fashioned, but that sounds pretty gay to me (gay meaning stupid). Of course I guess gay in that context means gay too. Sorry if that doesn't make any sense. It's my night off and I've been into the scotch whiskey since 5:00. Maybe I should just read and not post, eh?  (Jun 7, 2009 | post #12)

Estes is at it again

I can only hope you're being sarcastic, but from your post, it's hard to tell. As I stated above, I'm a non-smoker and bars are not public places. P.S. Spellcheck is free! Use it.  (Jun 5, 2009 | post #3)

GM's Bankruptcy May Mean `No Job, No Reason to Stay' for Detroi...

You couldn't be further from the truth. If you lived in my town where this slob hangs out all summer, you'd realilze that the liberal nutjobs around here care very much about what he has to say, no matter how absurd. And as far as your claim of his ideas being roots of good ideas, I would assume you're part of his fanclub as I have yet to hear any idea from him that is realistic and based in common sense.  (Jun 5, 2009 | post #10)

Estes is at it again

Boy this guy really irritates me. I've always believed that the right to smoke in a commercial establishment should be left up to the business. Not only is it appaling that the mayor doesn't agree with that, but his reasoning on the issue is unbelieveable.A May 29th Record-Eagle article shows how ignorant his mindset really is. "Estes believes most Traverse City residents support the concept of smoke-free bars and restaurants, but doesn't think the choice should be made at the polls, as suggested by some legislators. Instead, the decision could be left to city commissioners, Estes said." Number one: his first statement, without backing up why he believes this, is ignorant at best. I go to the bars downtown and I've never seen him there. I've asked people about this issue and they all disagree with his view. Number two: Did he really say that the choice shouldn't be made by the people at the polls, but should be the decision of the city comissioners? Need I say more? Need more? Here's another quote:"We're talking about public places. It's really the infringement on other people's rights that's the main issue here". Public places? Since when are bars and resturaunts public places? Last time I checked, these establishments were privately owned. I can't be sure what "people's rights" he thinks are being infringed upon, but can only say that nobody is forcing the public into these establishments. So to Mike and the rest of you do-gooders who want government to dictate how businesses should be run, get off it. For the record, I'm not a smoker or a business owner. Sorry about the long rant, but I just had to get that off my chest. Heres the link: http://www.record- eagle.com/local/lo cal_story_14906530 5.html  (Jun 4, 2009 | post #1)

GM's Bankruptcy May Mean `No Job, No Reason to Stay' for Detroi...

Well, at least one person is happy with GM going under. He was quoted a several days ago as stating "GM's bankruptcy fills me with joy". Stumped? Here's a hint; He suggested the Obama administration launch into a massive socialization of U.S. industry to build ‘green’ autos and bullet trains. And how do we pay for all of this? Well here's another quote: "To help pay for this, impose a $2 tax on every gallon of gasoline. This will get people to switch to more energy-saving cars or to use the new rail lines and rail cars the former autoworkers have built for them.” Who said it? That's right. Liberal whack-job, Michael Moore. Typical of the left. Whatever is bad for America is good for liberals, and vice-versa.  (Jun 4, 2009 | post #3)
