I think we need to work on learning to have a conversation. Think about it, most people speak in short sentences. I have a tendency to tell stories, not have conversations.  (Apr 14, 2015 | post #120)

Okay How to stop caring what other people think? Add this syndrome or phobia or secret personal feeling https://www.google .ca/search?ie=UTF- 8&client=table t-android-samsung &source=androi d-browser&q=th e+fraud+syndrome &gfe_rd=cr &ei=DJEXVbj8N4 Tt8wfqroDoBQ and you might be on to a cure BUT I have tried to support conversations but it takes practice. At the best of times I think allot of us aren't as quick and it is hard to help carry a conversation. To input quickly at just the right time. We need to think and respond quicker. By becoming more confident in yourself it can put you at ease. Good advice guys, I will try.  (Mar 28, 2015 | post #117)

Food for thought... Thanks smokin smokin I have noticed that if I try to remain upbeat with spur of the moment conversation, I can go quite a long time before the yawns start. I try and stay current but give em sumthin unexpected. Say less, listen more and use facial expressions to leave em guessing as to what you are thinkin. Take Care everyone and try and enjoy what you have. Try and have fun with life and share your enjoyment with others Oh......Good Luck lol  (Jan 5, 2015 | post #114)

Hmmm I can relate Chris M. I haven't noticed people going out of their way to yawn at me. I have had people start a new conversation (in a group setting) while I am saying something to them. (Really rude eh) That was years ago. Those people I totally ignore now. Dead to me! Lately it hasn't bothered me as much. I just keep broadcasting whatever it is I am trying to communicate and carry on.  (Aug 25, 2013 | post #103)

Making people yawn :(

A friend of mine used to say his CPU ran faster than most peoples. I think ours runs slower. I try and find a way to ignore it and carry on. When I ask a stranger for their input on this subject I can't get what I call a definitive answer. "Hadn't noticed" or "Do I?" is the response I often get to.... "Why do you think I make people yawn?"  (Aug 5, 2013 | post #96)

Possibly When I am focusing on something I am trying to recall I know I start to generate a reaction. Something in how we speak, tone etc I can sometimes sense the person starting to clinche their teeth or jaw and it is so not to yawn. Personally I think I need to take a public speaking course. Still don't have the answer and I suffer from it too.  (Jun 5, 2013 | post #92)

Might have something there. Problem is some of us don't realize we are self absorbed, because we have to focus so hard to accomplish things we appear to be self absorbed. Good suggestion thou Some of us experience people yawning from a distance. No words no self absorption. Our mere presence can cause people to yawn. Some of us can walk, drive or bicycle by and initiate a yawn. It is something to work on.  (Dec 18, 2012 | post #84)

Wow! Please reread post #47 from greeny. I don't know about the rest of you but greeny seems to have found ALLOT of similarities with me. I too believe I can be as bad as it gets only my powers are definitely not intentional. I am self absorbed because I have to stay focused. If I don't I can make some very serious mistakes. Some that can possibly cost lives. To QUOTE greeny "I believe we all suffer from the same characteristics. ie monotone voice, lack of expression, self absorbed conversations, poor blood circulation, etc... And I do believe that we also have abilities far beyond the yawners. We are self-absorbed, but still very caring, love animals, connected spiritually, have attempted and thought about things the average person does not (telepathy, levitation, inventing, life). I have been told that I do suck the life out of people. But I have found people with whom I can converse for hours. It cannot be just our voices or thoughts, especially when you consider that many of us make people yawn from far away. " Personally I have connected with the previous statement. greenie Why do you think this would have an effect on our outward appearance, enough to bore others? even at a distance??  (Apr 3, 2010 | post #49)

I am glad to see people are starting to respond to your question AikKid. I just wish we could find the real reason.  (Jul 11, 2009 | post #37)

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. We are dull because we can't keep up with the rest of the world. We are slow, learn to live with it. Get sleep. We probably all came from older parents who did their best but shouldn't of had kids. I was dropped on my head when I was a kid and I suffer from muscular dystrophy. My speech is slow and monotone. I definitely can't multi task without constant practise. Find a way to have fun. I wish I knew the answer to be a better person. If you have any friends who can help and won't make fun of you ask them. Personally you probably would have more luck with strangers. People who you wouldn't have to face everyday. I am always in the middle of a personal crisis which mentally seems to be running in the background and this helps to slow one down. Face it your CPU is running slower than most people and you need a way to speed it up. Good luck all.  (Dec 1, 2008 | post #24)

Wow I don't know why I bother to check back to see if anyone has responded. I know I have a problem but I am not afraid to face it. No wonder people yawn. Aikid.. I think you are right... tone, stance, presentation also speed at which it is delivered as well as lack of questions for the lister. Shawndrie "I believe if you slow down when speaking - take your time - articulate an pronunciate your words in a low tone - you may cause the other person to relax and be more receptive to what you have to say." Think about it, really think... Shawndrie if they are yawning you need to PICK UP THE PACE AND KEEP IT REALLY SHORT SO THEY CAN RESPOND. Denice is right in what she has to say but it is so much more that causes people to be bored. Slack Vampire experiences the same things I do. Slack Vampire Are you getting enough sleep or are you destracted by some project you have running in the back of your mind. Other people said they can tell when I become tired but I am unaware of it. Work with me here d_aus.. I am trying to kick start some help right here!!! Tony you are probably right. Keep the topics light, very short sentences, leave em with a joke. Hey James if you are reading this I am trying to help all of us but I have to ask the question. Is anybody out there? Is anybody interested in trying to fix this in themselves? If somehow I have missed the point of this forum please tell me because I feel I am wasting my time.  (Aug 18, 2008 | post #17)

Don't you just love it when you screw up the ending to a perfectly good rant. It's like tripping and ruining a perfectly good exit. When I realised I had mispelled the ending I searched in vane for the mysteriously absent edit button I had read sooo much about. For those of you who have taken the time to read the previous post, I do apologise, it should of ended with a question. It was supposed to uplift your spirits and show you how I react when meeting people. It is supposed to create a response! Sooooo may I please repeat my previous statment. How am I doing today?
