9NEWS - Top News Article - Forum on illegal immigration a...

Mike- I work at a hospital and I can attest that you are correct. Illegals are the highest users of non-emergency ER visits. If they have a headache, or their children have a cold then they go to the ER. They have no means to pay thier bills and that is why cost for other people who can be held accountable through their SSN# are driven way up. Yes insurance companies are also to blame for the healthcare crisis. But illegals are creating the health care crisis in this country by taking from the system and not putting back in.  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #154)

Mexicans fear U.S. immigration plan

I can't stand illegal immigrants. I would never travel to another country, let alone break the laws and illegaly live there, and not learn the language or laws. I think they are selfish and lazy, yes lazy. I work hard every day and HAVE worked in a field, cleaned bricks for new houses, cleaned houses etc.. they only time I have recieved government assistance is when my father died when I was 6 and my mom got social security for a few years. I work overtime, go to school, live in the slums and watch people who I KNOW are here illegally drive brand new escaliades with DVD players in them. Life is not fair. But I refuse to break the rules. Because at the end of the day I can feel good about myself and know I have not taken advantage of anyone to be in the situation I am.  (Dec 15, 2007 | post #17527)

9 News removes Topix links

I was wondering what happened to thoes links. I thought it was a good idea to have a discussion about the news, makes it more interactive. What ever the reason for them taking the links off I am disapointed. I will go some place else for my news now that lets me interact and see the opinions of other people.  (Sep 29, 2007 | post #33)

Obscenity about Bush forces college paper to make cutbacks

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." (1918) ~ Theodore Roosevelt  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #28)

Pregnant smokers may suffer depression

I work at a hospital and I see pregnant women all the time outside smoking, it makes me sick. I have aproached a few and they say, "I only have one a day so it's ok." Bull----! I even saw one pregnant girl at a concert drinking and smoking at the same time. I wanted to smack her. The poor kid dosen't even have a chance.  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #31)

Ski for free, no strings attached

I didn't say there are no tourists in CB. I said it attracts more CO skiers than tourists. And that is comparing it to all the I-70 resorts. Of course I am not basing this on any statistics. Just on my experiences of meeting people on the mountain. I have worked at 6 different ski resorts and CB just happens to be my favorite, so don't go saying I know diddly. :-) No hard feelings. Think snow.  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #6)

Printed profanity draws Collegian complaints

I am completly amazed that almost everyone on this board has COMPLETLY missed the point. They may or may not have been making a political statement. The F Bush is IRREVELENT. The important words come before it, "Taser this..." They were refering to the boy who was tasered earlier this week while questioning Kerry. They were standing up for his first amendment, and disaproving of the government's (the police) use of force. What came after Taser this... could have been anything that would cause a stir. Sure it could have been SOME of their opinions, but does it really matter?  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #101)

Printed profanity draws Collegian complaints

Settle down. They are doing what almost every college student has been doing for over 40 years. Pushing the limits of our society. Any person who takes offense to the headline probably doesn't have a college education, or didn't get their money's worth. Thoes who are worried about their kids seeing this word, do some parenting. It may not have been the best way of making their point, but they got it across didn't they?  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #93)

Ski for free, no strings attached

While I am stoked they are offering free passes when I will be up there, I am kinda bummbed. CB is one of my favorite resorts, mostly because it is not as busy as the I-70 resorts and generally attracts Colorado skiers instead of tourists.  (Sep 22, 2007 | post #3)

Sidetracks - Onion ring causes car crash

I can't stand it when I see people eating and driving at the same time. I don't eat fast food, but it is really unhealthy for you to not sit down and relax while you are eating.  (Sep 21, 2007 | post #5)

Magistrate to several women: Interact with your abusers

I can see where you are comming from. But what about the handing over of the phone number and e-mail? That seems like an invasion of privacy and actually dangerous. Let him contact her through her attorney, don't open a door for more abuse.  (Sep 20, 2007 | post #189)

Magistrate to several women: Interact with your abusers

I can see where you are comming from. There are some girls out there that seem to jump from one abusive guy to another. They obviously have problems, but then again don't we all. The laws of our society are set up so that if a woman ever choses to report this abuse and get away from the guy then she has every right to get out of that situation. It may have been their fault for staying too long, but we should atleast help them try to change their own self destructive patterns.  (Sep 20, 2007 | post #87)

Police say drug deal turned deadly

If one of my family members or even a friend (shudders) were involved in a drug deal gone bad I would expect sympathy from no one. It is their fault for putting themselves in that situation and associating with those people. I am just glad no innocent people were hurt.  (Sep 20, 2007 | post #15)
